This is the place to go! Omg bursting with flavor. The bahn mi crunch wrap is outrageously good. Juicy and crunch all at the same time. The flavors are immaculate a must try. Shack tacos are also delicious. The combo of cal- Mexican is a great combo. Extremely satisfying and filling food at a decent price. Way better than any Mexican place in anchorage and Fairbanks!

Awesome fish tacos and crunch wrap! Good beer selection too!! Walk up order and food will be done in a few minutes!

I should have gotten more photos of this place but it was raining and cold! Seriously some of the best food truck food I have had ANYWHERE!!! I had the banh mi crunch wrap and he had the California burrito - both excellent! Wish we would have been able to try more of their stuff! We were able to grab our food to go and bring to the Valdez Brewery.

I rarely leave reviews but the Banh Mi Crunchwrap from this place is one of the best things I've eaten in a long time. It was so flavorful and huge that I really want to invest in this business and open more locations. I wish I would've ordered mine without jalapeños because they are freshly sliced and super hot. If that's your thing, you'll love that component. I live 4 1/2 hours away but can't wait for my next visit. 10/10 on this one.

Service was good and food was amazing. Big portions at reasonable prices right by the harbour.

Tracy D.

As others have shared, this place is delicious! We had both the traditional Mexican style crunch wrap and the gyro wrap. I was skeptical about the gyro crunch wrap but it was delicious! Highly recommended. We did wait about 30 min for our food because this place is popular. So just know that you will likely wait a while for your food, grab a beer or cider while you wait, relax and enjoy the view of the water and mountains and enjoy a delicious meal!

Frieda N.

Came in for a dinner after a long day of biking in Valdez! We ordered the Crunchwrap with added guac and corn salsa, along with the burrito with added guac. The Crunchwrap was great and splitting one between the two of us was basically enough for dinner. The burrito on the other hand wasn't very appetizing, which is strange as it uses many of the same ingredients as the Crunchwrap. Fortunately, I've been spoiled with California Mexican food and can't say that this compares, though it's still pretty tasty. They had a large variety of beers (canned) so we also tried the richardson ruby an alaska amber ale. The Richardson ruby was tasty, light, and had a hint of raspberry. The Alaskan amber was great as always.

Takes some a minute to get but worth the wait. Delicious, hefty portions and awesome service. Love being able to sit outside and enjoy the weather or take it on the go.

So my first piece of advice is, if there are more than 8 people in line, order a snack next door at Glacier Grindz and get ready to wait 45 minutes (just to order your food!!!!!!!). There was absolutely no communication or regard from the person at the window taking orders for how unbearably slow the process was just to take everyone's food order. She would take one group's order, then disappear for 5-10 minutes give someone else their food and proceed to take the next group's order. So I waited in line while my wife grabbed a reindeer dog next door at Glacier Grindz, and we ate it in line at Nat Shack, hopefully to send a passive aggressive message. Ahhhhh finally made it to the front of the line. Ready to order some yummy Inferno Fries. Oh wait what was that, you're out of Inferno Fries you say? Thanks for making me wait 45 minutes just to tell me that. No sign? No shouting from the window "Hey everyone we're out of inferno fries." So I roll my eyes and then I see someone dumping fries into the fryer so I ask "can we just have some regular fries?" And she says "well it really slows us down when we have to make fries." Okie dokie. We order a gyro and banh mi crunchwrap plus share some halibut tacos. 20 minutes later we are finally eating. The tacos would have been absolutely delicious on their own, had they not been drowning in that sauce. Perfectly cooked halibut drenched in chipotle mayo. I don't get it. I will say that the crunchwraps were pretty freakin good especially the bahn mi. If you're reading this, you might be asking yourself why would I leave a 4 star review when I was so critical of the food service quality and overall operation. The reason is, I'm not going to tear apart a business' chance at success because of bad service when the food is inherently very good. Honestly, I hate when Yelp reviewers do that. But I am going to write about it and hope the business owners see this as an opportunity to improve on a kink in the flow of service. Enjoy the bahn mi, you'll love it.

Came on a Saturday evening and boy were they were busy. We waited a good 15-20 minutes for our food. I got the famous crunch wrap. Layered with shredded cheese(didn't see any nacho cheese sauce like it said on the menu), lettuce, tomato, season ground beef. Stuffed so it was an inch thick that thing was huge! Also got the California burrito. No avocado but I imagine that wouldn't justify cost. Ya got to sacrifice in AK especially small towns, I get it. There's a reason why this is one of the high rated spots in town, not much choice for food but they do it well. Friendly guys working too trying to run a business. They also have salads and tacos. read more

I'm leaving this review for someone who was in my shoes, trying to find delicious food in Valdez, and really Alaska in general. In short: go to this spot, it's effing delicious, and this is coming from someone who can be picky af. The owner was a delight, from Portland, and trust me, the food trucks out there give fine dining establishments a run for their money. I was BLOWN AWAY by the bahn mi tacos. To the point I'm now trying to find something similar near where I live. Also the inferno fries and churro chips. Me ~ Ow. Five starz. read more

Really yummy tacos and mexi treats with very fresh ingredients. I had the halibut taco and the shack taco with carne asada. They were both so flavorful and packed full with meat and salsa/veggies. You could really taste the halibut in the taco and I loved that it wasn't heavily breaded and fried. So yummy and filling! Their chips are great: warm, crunchy, and perfectly salted. Their guacamole is smooth, which is not my favorite preparation. I like chunks, but the flavor of their's was good. My boyfriend had a Crunchwrap which legit tasted like Taco Bell but better. It had a lot of the same flavors of Taco Bell which we loved but the ingredients in Nat's Crunchwrap were fresher and they really packed it full of meat and veggies. Overall great food and beautiful view. They have cute repurposed industrial spool tables outside. Nice to just sit and take in the beautiful sights over a yummy meal. Wish they served cervezas read more

Hands down the BEST place to eat in Valdez. It was recommended to us by our Airbnb host. I loved that the menu was clearly labeled as to what was GF or not. I ordered the Alaskan Halibut Burrito Bowl with a side of guacamole. No regrets! The bowl was loaded with large chunks of halibut which thrilled me. The guac was homemade. The bowl was fresh and filling. It came with a side of chipotle dipping sauce which was to die for. I'd DEFINITELY order that again. Nat himself was warm and welcoming. We came back the next day for lunch and ordered the chicken verde tacos with a side of the chipotle sauce and he offered to sub ingredients from the the shack taco. My husband and I ordered one taco each and went back for seconds. When I picked up our second order Nat through in a regular chicken verde taco so we could compare. Great service!! Can't wait to go back! Other nice touches: glass bottle for water & loved the biodegradable forks & knives read more

Another great permanent food truck along Harbor Drive. Large dining patio area with some shade. No indoor dining. Pet friendly. Nice menu. Respect for the ingredients, perfectly balanced, thoughtfully prepared. Special of the day. Tortilla chips tasted homemade. Perfect. Salsa fresh with just enough heat. Veggie burrito was very big. Tortilla was grilled. The veggies tasted as if they had been grilled or roasted. Black beans, rice and guacamole. Really yummy. The halibut taco was as good as it gets. Perfectly grilled, nice pieces of fish, with just the right amount of toppings. Awesome aoli. Staff were super friendly. read more

The Nat Shack is a food truck across the street from Valdez Harbor. It seems to be a very busy place. There are tables and chairs, some being covered by a tent. The crunchwraps (classic and Bahn Mi) were excellent. These things were huge in my opinion! I couldn't even eat half mine. Leftovers for later! They are a bit spicy so if you don't like heat, you might ask for the pico on the side. We also had the chips and dip flight. The chips were fresh and the dips were great! The only disappointment was that we were here late in the season (9/9/24) and they were sold out of halibut for the rest of the season. I understand that they don't want to have leftover inventory but it seemed to me this would be an easy place to buy a fish or two. However, I don't know how their system works. Regardless, the food was really delicious. The gentleman taking orders was chipper and friendly. Buzzer system used to let you know when your food is ready. We'll definitely eat here again when we return! read more

3 stars a best. The guacamole is just smashed avocado out of a container (my husband saw the container), it had zero flavor so we added salt and some of the chipotle from our halibut tacos. The halibut tacos were good. I also tried the herbivore and I do not recommend it. My husband tried the chicken verde and said it was just okay. All of it was cold as well. read more

I had 3 halibut tacos and they were excellent. Fresh caught halibut with some vegies and a wonderfully spicy mayo type sauce. Fantastic! The only complaint was there wasn't enough halibut in each taco. Just a relatively small piece, as far as I could tell. Still, 3 tacos was filling enough and the fantastic sauce almost made up for the them being a little light on the actual fish. $7 each or so. read more

I regret ever giving this food truck my business. They knowingly sold me rotten ceviche and thought…read morethey could get away with it. I gave them the benefit of the doubt, making a point to show them patience and kindness, but they took advantage of that. Selling spoiled seafood isn't just careless, it's dangerous. It shows zero respect for Cordovan customers and zero pride in their food. What I got wasn't fresh or even edible. I threw it out. In addition, she charged me two dollars MORE than the already inflated price stated on the menu WITHOUT EVEN A HINT OF EXPLANATION! $18 for a tiny portion of rotten ceviche. At payout she asked for $20 without batting an eye. If this is how they treat people, especially those who approach them in good faith, then I wouldn't trust them with anything that comes out of their roach coach. Spend your money elsewhere Cordovans--your health and dignity are worth more than this.

My friend wanted to skip but I couldn't last another 2 hours drive back to Anchorage, so we came here. We sat on patio overlooking the glacier. It was such a beautiful day and picture. Very peaceful and relaxing. I ordered the salmon sandwich/burger, came with fries. And can I say that these fries were the best fries I had in a while?! It was perfectly fried, crispy, and had a great potato filling (but not too much) and crunch to it. Very delicious! My salmon sandwich was really good too. It was not too minced where you feel like eating cat food, but had good texture and salmon pieces. I enjoyed it. We also got the apple crisp with vanilla ice cream. Don't skip this! It's a good palate cleanser and will help that low blood sugar. Good ending to lunch. Service started out good, but towards the end fell short because they got really busy. But for the most part it was good for what it is. A small place in the middle of nowhere. Pay at the front.

They make the best food and the wait is only like 15 to 20 minutes. The people that work there are so kind too.
