A few years ago I was lamenting that there were no breweries in the sleepy town of Valdez. Fast-forward to now and Valdez is more lively in the winter than Seward and has TWO breweries open, while Seward has NONE. (Yes, I know that Seward has a brewery, but re-read that sentence, it ain't open in the winter) This is the MUCH larger and more traditional of the two breweries. It has a massive taproom with great lighting and ambiance. There are a variety of beers on tap. And for those of you that aren't into IPAs (I feel for you, truly), there is only one or two IPAs on tap. For fans of hoppy beers like myself, I find the lack of hoppy ales and lagers a tad bit disappointing. I really love their pilsner, it's a modern classic. Wonderful ambience! I really enjoyed the modern decor inside this gem of a brewery in Valdez. People were so friendly and the patrons were truly happy and enjoying themselves. There was a nice assortment of brews and ciders. Even home made root bear which I've come to appreciate as part of the brewery culture in Alaska :) There's a variety of seating available from high top tables to comfortable chairs, which is nice. Decent variety of beers. We prefer darker beers so the salted chocolate porter was out drink of choice. Beer was great! Could taste the saltiness in the drink. Beers seem to rotate fairly often. They close at 8pm (summer Saturday) so be sure to get here early The weather was beautiful so we sat outside, but indoor seating was plentiful as well. Staff was friendly and helpful. Easy location to get to in Valdez, there is a parking lot, but we walked from our hotel. Peekaboo views of the mountains made the glorious sunshine that much more enjoyable. There is a food trailer in the parking lot that specializes in po' Boys. We did not partake but lots of customers did. read more

Want a place with amazing views, friendly service, and amazing beers? Well look no further! First off, the location is huge! There are ten tables seating at least 40 people on the outdoor patio. Plenty of mountain peaks sticking up above the trees and buildings. The indoor seating area is cozy while also vast. The fireplace in the corner says it all. I would be just as happy drinking beer here in the winter. Second, there is an excellent selection of beers. A pile, golden ale, wheat, hazy IPA, chocolate porter, and several others. If beer isn't your jam, they have an orange soda and a rhubarb seltzer. There is also lots of great merchandise including hats, shirts, glasses, and four different stickers. Lastly, the service is both friendly and on top of things. They work together to provide excellent customer service. They give great selections. Notables: there is food in a food truck style location outside that serves po boys. What a great find! This is a great place to stop for a cold beer. They have both indoor and outdoor seating. Inside, there are large windows with great views of the beer making process. There are a lot of tables and bathrooms in the rear. There's a large front counter with a variety of beers to choose from including some nonalcoholic options which are great for the kids. I had both the pale ale and a coffee red. I enjoyed both. Kid had the nonalcoholic mango margarita which was basically mango and lime. Very refreshing. There are a lot of tables outside with umbrellas. The space is both kid and dog friendly. Definitely a worthwhile stop for a couple of beers! They also have a refrigerator with some canned beers for purchase and drinking off site. The brewery itself does not sell food although there was a po' boy food truck outside. read more

Good beer; nice atmosphere, service was meh. Food outside is great, but no solid veggie options except fries and a pretzel. I guess they close at 9pm sharp cause we got our beer at 8:50pm and it was time to leave at 9pm. 9;06 lights were completely dimmed and we were basically asked to leave. Valdez was a cruise port stop. Valdez is very small and rural. We weren't expecting much. We stepped in and it was such a nice place with a great vibe. The beer selection was good. The sour beer I had was definitely sour! I also tried the strawberry margarita seltzer. It was ok. Not much flavor. You can order food from a food truck outside. We ordered the pretzel and cheese. $10. The pretzel was good but the cheese came from a can. If you happen to be in Valdez stop by. I would the brewery 5 stars but the food truck is lacking. read more

Came in after a wet day of fishing with the fam. Ordered beer flights. They weren't bad at all. Loved their Blackberry Blizzard Milkshake IPA (it really was a beer). Absolutely refreshing beers! I tried the berry white and the salted chocolate poter, my parents the Prop Wash Pilsner, and my husband the Full Stall. Not a single complain! They were all amazing! Highly recommend, especially after a li g day out in the water! The service was fast considering how incredibly busy it was. Regardless how long the line was, you were never waiting more than 5 min for a beer. As far as the ambiance goes, there was plenty of seating available, both outside and inside. read more

Indoor and outdoor seating, though the sofa by the electric fireplace sold me, including the beer reading material available at the side table. No food for sale, as is the case in all Alaskan breweries given the strict laws, but there is a food truck outside. read more

First of all.....great beer. Really nice outside seating and indoor seating that was great for maintaining social distancing. We went in to get beer to take back to the lodge, and the lady that helped us was sweet, knowledgeable, friendly, and made us feel completely welcome. We were here during a port call - we did a search for a local brewery and walked on over and I wish we had stopped here for longer than just one beer it was that good. The service was great, beer was excellent (we all had a variety), and sitting outside with great weather made it a fun stop.
