The espresso and iced matcha lattes are always lovely, and when they used to serve bagel sandwiches they were tasty as well. My issue with it is the owner's practices with staff, I have witness him speak to them rudely and in very demeaning ways and heard even worse stories about him. This alone makes me feel iffy about supporting it. read more

Coffee is really fn good. Easily the best since I moved to Hali last year. Their baked goods (with lots of GF options) are amazingly delicious! Staff are quick & efficient, and super friendly. 100% recommend trying this place. read more

This little cafe is tucked in between two larger business, making it even more of a hidden gem in my book. I walked by on my way home and was surprised that this cute little store had changed very little since I last saw it a few years ago. I was tempted into the store by the memory of the amazing sweet potato latte that I had tried my first time here, and I can safely say that their quality of drink has remained just as high. My latte was light yet creamy despite the milk being 0% - a nice pick me up during the lazy afternoon! One of my favourite coffees I've had this summer for sure. I didn't stay in the store to finish my drink, but there were small tables and chairs that would've been great to sit at had I brought a book or my laptop. Not sure if there's internet since I didn't ask. The service was overall fantastic. You can really tell that the owner - the same man who served me during my first trip to this cafe - really cares. The cashier was cheery and professional, and there was a general vibe of employee satisfaction. I was extremely surprised to find that, instead of having sleeves, I was just given two cups so the latte wouldn't burn me. Highly recommend! read more

Interesting little coffee house in the south end. As the name says, it is small (squished between two restaurants), and is very conveniently located. Super friendly staff, and good selection of snacks and smoothies. It's bright and clean, with a cool atmosphere. However, their espresso beans are very, very bitter (which I'm not a fan of), and I wish that they had a better tea selection. The simple orange pekoe that I ordered was not good... In fact, I'm positive it wasn't even orange pekoe (I ended up throwing it out). I've tried this place a few times, but what I've ordered just hasn't been up to par. It's got a lot of potential, and if they changed just a few things, it would be a killer little spot. But, as this place does seem popular, it could just be me and my overly picky nature when it comes to latte and tea. :P read more

I have lived a block away from Narrow Espresso for years, but this is the first time I've gone in. Why? I honestly forget about it unless I'm going to Darrel's next door. It's so small and unassuming! But I finally made a point of going in and boy have I been missing out! There actually is space to sit and enjoy your drink - I thought it was a grab n go place! - with a couple of tables along the wall. It was a beautiful day though, so we did just grab and go. They brew North Mountain coffee here (my fave!) so I know I'll be coming back for that. But today I splurged on a mocha and I am so glad I did. Honestly, this is the best latte I've ever had. It was creamy, smooth and not too sweet, unlike some er...chain coffee shops, I've been to. And they have dairy and non-dairy milk (no extra charge) which makes me incredibly happy. I'm not allergic to dairy, but it does a number on my skin, so I try to avoid it if I can. They do have food as well, but I haven't tried any of it. Lets Get Serious Narrow, The Coffee Brewed at Narrow Espresso is the mix of world peace, a whole lot of love and the Superbowl. I have frequented Narrow espresso as frequently a week as a a methadone patient goes in to get their drugs. The owner is an amazing man and the closest thing I can call to a father figure in my life since my dad left my family when I was 7. Once he left I knew I had to be the man of the house. That was the first day I drank Narrow Espresso. Drank that coffee as black as the hole my father left in my heart. I knew that day I would never love again. I can't believe I just discovered this place, 1 week away from leaving my apartment in the South End. Lovely assortment of reasonably priced drinks and snacks, all that seem to be healthy and made with local ingredients (to my knowledge). The staff are really friendly, in fact I was not planning on purchasing anything but after getting the low down from the super sweet young lady that was working I decided I met try their amazing smelling coffee. It's delicious! I also got a breakfast sandwich which they loaded with avocado (for only 50 cents extra!). The only beef I have with this place was the sliced processed cheese on the sandwich... It threw me off a bit after hearing about their local-sourcing approach... But other than that, this place is AWESOME. read more

Two words: quality coffee. They come by their Narrow name honestly. It's a skinny strip of a shop, with just a few tables (and some outside in nice weather). The food here looks OK; I've only ever had a pastry, which was average. They're very friendly. But they make a proper espresso, and don't overdo it with too much milk, making for excellent lattes, cappuccinos, etc. I stop in whenever I need to go to the post office in Fenwick, or grocery shop at Sobeys. read more

The Narrow has extremely friendly staff. They're very welcoming and are always smiling. I don't go overly often despite being very close, but it's a nice change sometimes. The breakfast sandwiches are delicious, and the lattes are quite good. I recommend no flavouring in them as I find the brand they use to have an odd taste. Without the flavouring is quite good. The smoothies are pretty good as well, and I normally go with an orange juice base. It's a little tangy, but good in the mornings! They always say goodbye when you leave and make it a nice experience to go in! read more

I work right down the street so I often stop in here for a quick coffee. I think it's the only location in the South End that's smaller than my apartment. Even though it's itty bitty it's so nice inside! They have seats if you want to stay and enjoy your coffee as well as a couple seats outside in the summer. I'm constantly on the run so I can't say I've utilized the seating, and it's probably not the best spot for sitting and getting some work in, but gezz, take a break from work and enjoy a nice cup of joe would ya? The coffee is good and the service is super friendly, tons of smiles in here. I think that's my favourite thing about this coffee spot. read more

This is an excellent little cafe. The selection is great, the coffee is delicious and always well prepared and they have real cinnamon rolls -- incredible. The owner and staff are extraordinarily friendly. All except one whose expression seems to say, "I was just about to take a break but I'll serve you if I must"; unfortunately, we tend to go to our other favourite because we don't want to feel as if we're putting "her" out. read more

Narrow Espresso is definitely a South-end gem. I live just down the street and everytime I go (which is very frequently), I don't think I've ever seen anything out of place, or the slightest bit dirty. The owner is very friendly, and always remembers my face. My boyfriend gets a double shot of espresso (which he says is the best in the city), and I always get the iced chai latte. The latte isn't hard to make, but he always does the best ratio of chai to soy milk. As well as their awesome drinks, they also have very tasty breakfast sandwiches and treats. I love this place. Excellent afogato! The espresso in it was perfect. It was served in a paper cup. Would look better in a clear plastic cup.
