I thought this would be a cool place to have a coffee and get some work done before my appointment. As soon as I walked in In the Woman at the counter Barked "do you have a mask" I said "no" in utter disbelief that someone would actually be asking for that in April of 2023 and she said "we still require them" in an arrogant tone This is absolutely crazy I really feel sorry for people that are this brainwashed. I don't know if this policy is driven by fear or virtue signalling at this point in the game. If you want to wear a mask fine but don't force this on customers we have had 3 years of devastation. Businesses were ruined, and society still dealing with the aftermath of lockdowns and inflation. I'll say it a little louder for those who can't hear it in the back "THE PANDEMIC IS OVER" You boast about having an inclusive space on your website while enforcing unnecessary masking on people. read more

Service is friendly and kind, the food is good. The space itself is airy and quaint, and most importantly welcoming and safe. I want to use the word "magical" to describe what Glitter Bean has created, but that brushes aside the very real effort that's obviously been put in to make this place what it is. read more

A new cafe is in town and run by former Smiling Goat baristas. This is a safe space for the LGBT community and it has the flare and attitude to boot. The building itself is a beautiful Victorian style converted home but stunning vintage fireplaces, crown molding and wood floors. It's a large space and there's lots of seating. The menu includes soy and almond milk for the vegans in the city and they have a selection of treats available. Vegan PB cups and granola bars are available. They also have a lot of different flavour syrups. So happy so many cafes are becoming vegan-friendly. read more

This place is such a great alternative to the Starbucks across the street. I love everything about it. The coffee is solid, their iced mochas are delicious, and they can add rainbow sprinkles to any drink! Their baked goods are also insanely good but I don't think they're baked in house. Try the double chocolate cookie with coarse sea salt on it - sweet Jesus they are good. I had a caramelized onion and cheddar tart from there today and it was incredible. To top it off it's a LGBTQ2 friendly space and has a warm and inviting atmosphere. Love it. read more

I met my daughter here this weekend and what a beautiful and restful spot to begin a perfect day! Being a tea drinker, I loved being able to get a whole pot of tea (loose Jasmine) and she, loving coffee, really enjoyed her espresso. The atmosphere is what makes this cafe so special. There is room to move in it and to either enjoy a quiet moment or a private conversation. Plenty of plants, large windows and beautiful walls give it a warm but light feel and the fact that it is a welcoming spot for everyone gives it 5 stars for sure. After we left, we felt soothed and refreshed to begin our weekend. We didn't have anything to eat but what was on offer looked interesting! read more

Others have tried and failed to make a profit at this poor retail location. This is a busy street, but people walking or driving by can't see there is a coffee shop inside. From the street there is little to indicate this a commercial property. Looks like (and is) a residential building. No big store front windows at street level. Little in the way of signage. The logo on their sign needs to be re-designed to look more like a coffee shop. The faded Just-us sign (one of the former tenants who went belly-up) is still visible on the facade. Website is a waste: no menu, an empty "events" page, links that go nowhere. Very odd hours for a coffee shop; they like to close early, 6 pm weekdays and 5pm on weekends. Are the owners really committed to their business? Just one month after grand opening they closed the store for a weekend to "recharge." They like to close when it snows, close for "staffing issues," close for "unforseen circumstances," close for government holidays (when all other coffee shops are open), and close for no apparent reason whatsoever. They need to charge more for their products; they are giving away too cheaply to undercut the competition (classic rookie business mistake), they won't make enough money at those prices. A lot of wasted space in the store isn't being monetized. I'm not sure what they are trying to do here. read more

Hands down my favourite place to get coffee and a treat in Halifax! The people that work their are always friendly and welcoming. The coffee itself is delicious and well priced. The atmosphere is great for studying or catching up with friends. The pastries and food there is always fresh and tastes, a must hit when you're looking for a nice coffee break! read more
