A wonderful restaurant that I have enjoyed dining at for the last several years. Great food, great atmosphere, great service, and not to mention great music?? Their sushi menu is vast & amazing! Raw, cooked, or deep-fried every one I've had so far has not dissatisfied me yet. Their tofu is to die for & their vegetables are always cooked to perfection. I would also recommend trying out their orange chicken if you're not very adventurous. They somehow make a simple Asian cuisine unlike any other I've had before. Never fails. read more

Update. I'm not sure what's happening to my go to Thai restaurant. 3 weeks ago they overcooked chicken skewers, just too dry and crunchy to eat. Today it took so long to get our food. My entree came out before the appetizer, the other meals were delayed another 20 mins. So we are politely waiting to eat together, pretty normal to wait, but I asked twice, the older lady was absolutely rude, One of the other waiters was polite and checked in our food. The lady was extremely annoyed, and obviously not wanting to be bothered. The lady's Customer service is in great need of improvements. The food is still good, the two guys working are very nice, but reconsider if you are on a time limit or understand the service will be sub par. read more

I have eaten here a few times! The food is good and they have many food options. If you enjoy spicy food, you know who you are, this place has you covered. You may have to go there more than once to get what you're looking for. I believe that they have your safety at stake. They can light it up if you like, just ask and you'll not be disappointed. I really love the space; it is so clean and neat and organized to get pick up orders out with minimal exposure. The menu makes a point to State that you can specify spice/heat level, even if the dish is usually hot. Be warned: if it has no spice indicated , it will be bland. No worries! They provide you with chili paste on the side and there's soy sauce on the table, so you can doctor it. I always get Pad Woo Sen because I like glass noodles, seafood medley. I will say, this could have used more of the sauce to have more flavor. My husband gets pad Thai with tofu. He was pleased, but again, maybe ask for SOME spice. We got the squid appetizer and it was good, so the bland entrees were a little disappointing. We assume that this is due to previous patrons complaining about too much heat, when considering the disclaimer on the menu. The service is impeccable, so I'd definitely go back and armed with the knowledge of heat levels and what they mean, adjust my ordering. read more

So, the mean lady in charge was berating her young server while we watched in dismay. When she noticed we were watching she started mean mugging us lol. We enjoyed the food, but this is multiple times that we have seen her run off patrons and employees. There was a very nice gentleman that worked here last year and she ran him off. Since then, she has gotten worse and so has the restaurant. We are going to hold off on returning until she is gone, which is sad because we love Thai food. read more

I've been to many Thai places (mostly within the loop or the Southwest side of town) so I wasn't expecting much but their Panang Curry has been some of the best I've ever had & It comes with so much! I dug in too quickly for photos. Highly recommend. We also had fried calamari & my companion had a basic asian beef and rice dish that were both tasty. I love Nara Thai Dining! I'd give 5 stars but on the night that we came here, they were severely understaffed, and when I complained that we had been waiting for over an hour for two sushi rolls and an appetizer, our waitress was extremely rude and defensive. I was not rude when complaining. I simply asked what was taking so long and she was snappy and rude. I'll chalk it up to a bad night and not hold it against her, but get it together Nara Thai! This restaurant is in the old Kroger store's parking lot and has a small parking lot. It can get very packed during the weekends and at night so I'd recommend placing a to-go order and eating your food at home! This place is very popular in Baytown as it has probably the best sushi this side of Clear Lake. We always get the Volcano Roll and the California Roll with cream cheese and they are always super delicious and fresh. I love how spicy the Volcano Roll is and they use some kind of grated cheese topping that is to die for. It is my absolute favorite here. I've never actually tried any of their other entrees but I'd love to come in and try the pad thai because I've heard that is is delicious. We have had the chicken satay appetizer and although the chicken is perfectly cooked, I don't really enjoy the peanut sauce. It's a little sweet for me, so I probably wouldn't order that again. Was actually very surprised. The atmosphere in the restaurant is very cozy and definitely feels "Thai". The food is excellent. I mean REAL good. The vegetables are not overlooked and actually cooked to perfection, leaving the veggies crispy and not soggy. I came here for lunch and was pleasantly surprised. The service was fast and courteous. Since it was during the lunch rush and I was alone, I sat at the bar which was wide and comfy. I ordered the spicy tuna roll, 5pc tuna sashimi and an order of edamame. All orders were on point. They were fresh and delicious! The tuna sashimi was very fresh and the slices were perfectly cut. The woman who is the manager for this location on Baytown Garth road is very rude. We will never eat at this restaurant again. Update: 11/5/2020 I had a delivery for DoorDash, the woman was shouting at me, telling me don't come here again, I told her that I am doing my job and she is impolite and left. She had the courage to call me thru DoorDash generated number to tell me you are Bit** and hanged up the call !!!!! I reported her to DoorDash, and tried to call Mr. Neal no help I sent him an email. I have a video. Definitely I will not step a foot in that restaurant, I will never do any deliveries for them. read more

We had the green curry. I had it with mock duck and my husband chose tofu for the protein. While Nara's curry is spicier than most places we've been, it's good. We order it the mildest possible and it still makes our noses run - but it's oh so good! We love that we have this vegan option in Baytown and the other locations. Another thing we really like about this place is that they play Asian music. I cannot even tell you the number of times we've been really disappointed in other Asian restaurants that play American music. We want the whole atmosphere, the whole experience, and Nara delivers. Very comfortable seating, prompt service, lovely atmosphere, and tasty food. Can't go wrong here, even being vegan. It would be super cool if they would offer Thai peanut sauce as an option with the curry. Just a thought. Oh and one more thing - they have the coolest folded napkin designs! =) read more

I always enjoy my meals from Nara Thai. Most of the time I order take out but my last two visits I sat in. Right as I walked in I got greeted and seated. The service here is always spot on. The manager came out and walked around to talk to everyone and make sure everything was going well. I heard him refer to a few patrons by name and I love that because it shows they take the time to remember and acknowledge their faithful and regular customers. Our waitress was very nice and smiled and made jokes with the children there including my son. Several families walked in when I was ready to leave surprisingly busy for an early Tuesday evening. This place will probably be as good as it gets when it comes to sushi in Baytown. Salmon had a more vibrant orange color than I am used to, so I was skeptical before eating it but after having a bite, it's arguably the best salmon I've ever had. Very fresh and buttery. The rolls were pretty limited in terms of the ingredients, so we picked only a couple but they were also good. Will definitely come back the next time I'm craving some raw fish & not wanting to drive far. The only downside about this place is the service. It sucked. But the food was so good I let it slide.
