If you look…read morearound the restaurant, you see a lot of diners wearing commercial fishing clothes, like I used to do as one of them for about six years. I know that's a great sign indicating the best that you possibly can if those folks come here for dinner. Service was impeccable, no wait and prompt delivery of our drinks than our meal my wife's pasta dish was also very excellent. We took leftovers home and enjoyed them twice!. The scallops were the best meal I had in Alaska this time after 16 days of traveling. I'd be really surprised if you went wrong at this venue, and I recommend it with all my heart and will do so to my best friends!

I spent 38.00 for halibut and chips, the shoestring frozen French fries were obviously right out of a bag, the halibut was fried in old oil. My friend ordered calamari, shrimp and steak, the Calamari was undercooked and greasy, She never received her shrimp and the baked potatoes was overdone.. not to mention we waited 45 minutes for our food to arrive. The waitress was the only server in our area. I have worked in the restaurant industry and made it my career. This is unacceptable in a high end restaurant setting. The food was substandard, service lousy. I will never recommend this establishment to anyone. Do Better.

Definitely a mom and pop old school nothing fancy no frills, but great positive vibe and great food. My father in law and I had the same thing (he copied me) BLT with avacado on sour dough with clam chowder, it was excellent. Hubby had a hamburger and said it was good and mother in law chicken strips. Soda in a can was odd, waiter was very laid back and friendly and overall 5*. Love these small places that keep us wanting to come back.

But the tailgate benches are cool. The view from your table is so beautiful. We got several orders of the fish and chips. The halibut here is better than the cod. (The cod was better than halibut at Woadie's in Skagway.) The fries were crispy and tasty. The clam chowder was chunky and creamy. It came with buttered toast. The bread is good.

The Panko crust was nice and crispy, without being oily, and the fish still moist and tender. The crust on the halibut also had a bit of herbs in it which kicked it up a notch. I also tried the rockfish combo, which was still above average, but if I had to do again, I'd go all halibut. The fries were pretty good, but honestly nothing to fly up here to visit for. Tartar sauce was also solid, but felt it could have used more tang (pickles). It is a bit of a bummer they're cash only, but it was worth hitting the ATM to be able to try this place. I'd definitely go back, or have it on my list to hit anytime I'm on the Spit.

We dined there for several meals as we were staying a motel unit that they also operate across the road from the restaurant. I recommend the restaurant and motel units if you're fishing the Anchor River and need a place to eat or stay. Call the Restaurant for reservations at the motel or reserve online.
