Blown away by this cute place!!! Omg the waffles were sooo good. I thought I would need 3 orders to fill my bottomless stomach but 1 was surprisingly enough. We got the mother clucker, shake N bacon, and lemon drop. The savory ones were more filling whereas the sweet one was a lot lighter. The meats are mixed in the batter which I thought was so clever and perfect. I got the London fog with was a 3/5, not the best I've had but it was okay. I like that they have a specialty waffle that they change monthly, I will definitely be back to try more! read more

Absolutely ADORED this place. So so cute!! You literally get to order in one part of the train and then eat in the other train car. Food was delicious, I love the waffles! We came back from a very bad weather situation so we definitely enjoyed all the warm delicious coffee and waffles from Brew@602 bright and early. The staff was super sweet and explained anything to us when we asked questions. The coffee/drinks were also so delicious. Definitely stopping by again next camping/roadtrip! read more

I've gotten coffee from this cafe a few times, and always like their simple concoctions. I would usually get a lavender latte. I finally was able to stop in to try their waffles. I thought this was a brunch place initially, but the only thing on the food menu is waffles, and they sometimes have a few pastries. The cafe is set in a vintage train car, which is definitely funky & fun. The artwork is tons of pictures of the Alaskan railroad. Service was quick & efficient. The waffles are delicious, and they have a few different fun topping options to choose from. Their savory selection is much smaller compared to the options they have for sweet waffles. If you're super hungry and looking for a place for a hearty, savory breakfast this is not it. I ordered the mother clucker & truffle shuffle. The mother clucker was a chicken & waffles concept with maple glaze. The fried chicken is put into the batter, and cooked into the waffles. So it's a bit of an untraditional take on the southern classic. It makes sense why they serve it this way though because all their waffles are meant to be eaten with your hands. The truffle shuffle was a waffle drizzled with nut Rella & strawberry jam. Nutella & strawberries is one of my fav flavor combos for crepes so I very much enjoyed this waffle as well. The waffles themselves were cooked well. The batter was light, and the waffles were crispy. I also got an autumn themed latte, which I enjoyed. It wasn't overly sweet, but you can add sugar if you want to change that. I don't think I'd go here if I was super hungry, and looking for a meal. I shared these waffles with my son, and we were satisfied. It was really more like a dessert than a meal BUT if you love sweet breakfast over savory this is definitely your spot! read more

This has always been my favorite spot in the way to or from Homer. It's a perfect middle ground stop point plus the waffles are amazing. My personal fave has always been the shake and bacon with a mustard maple glaze and bacon inside the waffle and it's truly the best. I dream about it. This is a really cute place and a fun experience for coffee and waffles. It's close to my house so I was so excited to try it out. I went on a Wednesday morning and although there were only 3 people that ordered before me, my waffle and coffee took almost 30 minutes to come out. I wouldn't suggest going here if you are in a hurry. The waffle and coffee were just okay so I'd say go for the experience of the train car and not for the food/drinks. read more

Anytime I'm in town I have to stop here. Their waffles are so good, especially the savory waffles. The Shake 'N Bake waffle is amazing. This cute cafe in a renovated old train car is worth a stop. My friend and I shared the northern lights lavender latte and the Yukon gold golden milk latte with oat milk. Both drinks were well-flavored and served at a perfect sipping temperature. They were a little sweet for my taste (but I like my drinks with just the slightest hint of sugar). The interior of the cafe is super clean and beautifully decorated with train- and travel-themed art and memorabilia. The service was top notch with friendly, smiling cashiers and baristas. read more

Location: I love that it's in a train car. It made the experience fun and unique. Mother Clucker: best chicken and waffles I've had in a long time. I think what I like best about it is that the chicken is inside the waffles so it's easy to eat and you taste everything at once. I will definitely get it again. Hot chocolate: good for kids with whipped cream and sprinkles on top. Sugar Daddy: very sweet latte but perfect for me. I like the sweetness and smoothness of it. Northern lights: I thought I would like this drink because I've had lavender tea and drinks before. I didnt particularly care for this one. It was so hard to drink because the lavender was overwhelming and a bit bitter. I was expecting a more subtle taste. Okay. I did not think I would come to Alaska and have the best waffles in my life. I am still in awe of how good they were. Light, moist, tender, texture just right. We hade the mother clucker and the Gill and dill. These waffles are neatly cut in quarters and are meant to be eaten with your hands. The fresh dill and light and creamy tartar sauce on the Gill and dill was a fabulous touch. The smoked salmon inside was well seasoned and tender. The fresh dill made everything pop, the chicken in the mother clucker was also tender and neatly chunked, cooked well and in small uniform bites. We were cheerily greeted and felt very welcome. Awful service. No coordination. People around us came in after us, ate, and left before we were even served our drinks. In fact, our DRINKS came 55 minutes after ordering with the waffles nowhere in sight. A table of 4 women across from us came in, ate, then went up to the front and got to go orders before we even got our drinks. Then I get a "sorry we had a big order before you". No, you didn't. You're just incredibly unorganized. I went to the counter 3 times and emphasized that we needed to get going. I didn't want to be rude but come on. I got a "5 more minutes" until finally my partner got up and walked out snd I started to walk out and then our orders were magically ready. Taste is great, concept is good, but I'm sorry we were seconds from walking out because of the BS service and disorganization. They think that's so fun! Always decorated beautifully for the holidays. The coffee is always yummy. From the sweet & delicious salted caramel Sugar Daddy, to the rich ganache of the Midnight Sun Mocha. You'd be a fool not to try the Mother Clucker waffle. It's a sweet n' savory masterpiece. The waffles were perfect. Crunchy on the outside, soft and eggy on the inside. I don't think this recipe used yeast, but for a non-yeast raised waffle (which is my favorite kind), these were absolutely perfect. We shared the Maple Tap and the Gluten Free Cinnamon and both were wonderful (as you can see I failed to stop to take a photo of the waffles!) We also had a latte and the Ginger special Yukon Gold was lovingly crafted and, though very sweet, a unique combination of multiple flavors and worth a try! Definitely a fun place to stop by and have a coffee and waffles! Be forewarned though, at this point that is the extent of the menu here. read more

I'll keep this short since I just woke up hungry after a night of camping in heavy rain...This is not a breakfast restaurant! It is a coffee shop that makes waffles. No bacon or sausage. I had the a mocha and lemon curd waffle. The waffle was fantastic. Perfect crispness and flavor. I'm not a fan of steamdot coffee so I can't rave about the coffee. I asked for silverware when the waffle was brought out and was curtly informed the waffles are meant to be eaten like donuts, no silverware. Ok... Luckily there is a restroom to wash hands. I have been wanting to try this place and finally was able to. For the record I am not a waffle or pancake fan (I know, un-American) , but I was shocked at myself to say these waffles are top notch. I ordered the mother clucker and it was fabulous. The chicken is actually in the batter which threw me off at first but after that first bite...come to mama! The coffee was also excellent with a little touch of foam art that brings the experience to the next level. The train car is really a cool vibe and an outside eating area if you'd rather. The prices are a little high ($10 for one waffle) but I cannot deny it was a great overall experience. Next up is Addie Camp for dinner. Let's hope it impresses just as much! read more

I stopped by here a couple of Tuesday mornings ago with my father for my morning coffee. We were looking for a place on Yelp whenever we found Brew @ 602 which happened to be nearby. So we headed over and you can imagine our surprise whenever it was a coffee shop located inside of an old Alaska railroad car. How cool is that? Anyways we headed in so that I could get my coffee. Upon entering, the place to order your coffee is off to the left while off to the right is the seating. What is cool about this car is that they have both upstairs and downstairs seating and you can pick your own place. For my coffee on this morning I decided to go with my usual Americano. It was ready a couple of minutes after ordering and my dad and I took the opportunity to sit in the car for a little bit. Whenever I tasted the coffee I have to admit that I was disappointed. It didn't really taste like anything! I am going to give Brew@602 the benefit of the doubt here and say that I couldn't really taste it because I had developed a nasty cold the night before. At least I hope that is what happened because I really loved the concept of this place. The bottom line for me is that I would stop by here again in the future. Since I wasn't really able to taste my coffee here I would love to give it a second chance as I absolutely loved their concept. read more

Discovered this cute place next door to the gift shop. This place looks very new and clean. Luckily we were craving coffee and I ordered the nitro cold brew. My drink was very good as I also added sugar free vanilla with a shot of heavy cream. It truly woke me up lol. My husband had enjoyed his cappuccino and my niece enjoyed her mango tango smoothie. The prices are typical for Alaska and the cute concept of dining in the caboose was very fun. They also have waffle desserts that I need to try next time. The service was attentive and friendly. I absolutely love Brew@602! I saw this place while driving from Anchorage on the Seward Highway and hadn't noticed it before. I decided to swing up here to check it out with my wife and sister, not knowing what it was. After seeing that it was a coffee place, we each got a cup of coffee and it was definitely the best Americano I've had. I'm not a coffee snob so take that opinion for what it's worth - not much if you ask me. The way they utilized the passenger car is brilliant. You can dine on the lower level or the upper level and enjoy the views. They sell waffles, ice cream, and (obviously) coffee. The waffles and ice cream looked really good, but we only got the coffee, so I can't speak for their other options. If you're in the mood for coffee or a new place in Soldotna for breakfast, come to Brew@602! It's a nice change from Kaladi Brothers and a breath of fresh air. read more
