Massive piece of Halibut, cheap meal, stunning sauce, and the sweet potato fries were so so good. I am not usually an oyster person, but I did try one of these and again, so good. We really debated going back the next day, but already had dinner thawed at the airbnb. The atmosphere was so calm. I was shocked we were the only table there. The servers were so kind and the chef's daughter was practicing her violin. Just a great atmosphere with great vibes and fantastic food.

Definitely a mom and pop old school nothing fancy no frills, but great positive vibe and great food. My father in law and I had the same thing (he copied me) BLT with avacado on sour dough with clam chowder, it was excellent. Hubby had a hamburger and said it was good and mother in law chicken strips. Soda in a can was odd, waiter was very laid back and friendly and overall 5*. The place was almost empty, but that made for excellent customer service and the usual chit chat between Alaskan types. From the outside it looks like a motel/hotel, but inside, once you find the hallways to the restaurant, and/or deck, it's a good size dining hall. The Beluga Blue, their blue cheese burger, and tots, were the prefect meal for a cool overcast day. Cooked perfect, and the bacon was delish, not too crispy for a burger! I wish I would have stopped in sooner in the week so I could try more menu items, but I'll stop in here on my next trip down.

Chips and salsa are NOT complimentary. A basket of chips and two bowls of salsa wasn't terribly expensive at 4.50. But hot salsa wasn't available when we went. So they gave us two milds. The salsa tasted a little weird. I couldn't tell if an ingredient was missing or if there was some other funky aspect. Either way, I didn't eat many chips (which made the paying for it seem a little more frustrating). The queso appetizer was delicious. Great serving size and great flavor. Everyone at the table agreed and there wasn't any left at the end. Beer selection included a couple local craft beers and plenty of bottles. I was very happy with the Pacifico and lime I received. Service was friendly. So we're the couple on a date at the table next to us. They recommended food and drinks and told us all about places to visit in town. Apparently there are meaderys (meaderies?)open on town. Cool news! Overall, I was largely underwhelmed by the food and slightly chagrined by the chips and salsa cost.

You definitely sit somewhere that allows you to see these. Service - Brilliant. Friendly. Kind. Fast. Waters came out immediately with freshly cut lemons. The water was crisp and cold. Among all the ordering, two people at our table who ordered sodas did have to ask for their drinks after the food came out. These sodas were promptly retrieved. Food - Parmesan garlic fries came with a generous helping of roasted garlic. Like full cloves. Fries were freshly cooked and very hot. The pizzas were quickly dispatched by their partakers. Both pizzas received praise from the eaters. We asked for things to be left off the burger and for things to be on the side. This was completed with accuracy. The taco salad was well done. The best part was the size of the plate and the depth. Because it was relatively shallow, it never felt like I had exhausted all the goodies only to find myself eating lettuce. In fact, I think there was something besides lettuce in every bite to the end. Notables - No beer, wine, or liquor. Prices were great for Alaska.

We met the Water Taxi around 5PM and started the trip across the bay..it's about 20 minutes and truly beautiful! The boat pulls up on the beach and you walk up a small trail to the restaurant. Now we had about 20 diners on the boat so this joint went from having one guy at the bar to like 6-7 tables all of the sudden.. they couldn't handle it at all. We waited about 20 minutes for drinks that just sat at the bar. Appetizers were ready before we got drinks. I know it's ALASKA but this just seemed off for a place of this caliber.. no manager on the floor or anything? Started with some appetizers that looked amazing but fell flat on execution, very little flavor at all. We all got entrees and again everything sounded great in description but had very little flavor; Halibut was barely luke warm but was plated beautifully! We tried all kinds of drinks and they were fine and they had a great whiskey I really liked. Dessert offerings were pretty weak so we just tried a Chocolate Mousse that was not good at all with some Espresso's that were served warm not hot? To be honest the place operated like they had just opened for business.. the waiter never asked how anything was just running thru the motions! Very pricey but the restaurant and location is absolutely beautiful. Talk Later
