Small hut with one table out front and broken TV monitor. Riley was cute but her sandwich barely had any tomato in it, so thin you could read through it. Italian bread seemed underdone & dressings too lite. Meh. We won't be back but Riley was cute. Where do all the redheads in Alaska come from???? read more

I picked up the Mariner, which is a turkey sandwich. The portion was very generous. It was very flavorful and the veggies were fresh. I ordered ahead so I'm not sure how speedy they are. Overall I would love to come back and try other items. read more

I've been coming to homer for 8 years. Decided to give this place a try for the first time and i wish i would have came sooner. Riley was very sweet and made some good recommendations. I live full-time on the road, so i'm a total foodie. 10/10 experience. Even mu coworker said it was the best Ruben sandwich he has ever had. I'll definately be back!! read more

Stopped in for lunch after our walk on Bishop's Beach. The menu greeted us with a plethora of yummy selections. I chose The Mariner sandwich. It was sheer delight for my taste buds. The bacon was perfectly crispy. The avocado creamy. The chicken and dressing spot on. Not only was the food a delicious feast for our tummies, but the service was excellent. The staff was eager to share their favorites and were friendly and polite. We ate our lunches outside on the picnic tables. If you're looking for a delicious and quick bite, look no further. Ate here 7 years ago, last time I was in Homer. Decided to try them again. So glad we did. Nothing fancy here. If's salads and sandwiches. I had the Jessies Grill. Absolutely one of the best sandwiches I have ever eaten. My co-worker had the Mariner and was equally impressed. Friendly service. Look forward to returning. read more

Nothing bad about the food but I ordered from the red haired girl and was nothing but kind to her. Forgot to get them back the pager so I ran back into Mike's, walked in on her mocking and talking about me to her boss. Which is so rude and unprofessional. Wish I could have had a better experience and am so disappointed cause I take my kids into their other establishment all the time. read more

Very high quality sandwiches. I had the Jessie's Grill and it was one of the best sandwiches I've ever had. The chicken was actual sliced breast meat, not thin deli type meat. The combination of ingredients was well balanced and had a nice amount of heat. It was served on thick toasted sourdough bread. It was large enough that I was able to save half to eat later. My wife had the Reuben and it was generously sized, she said it was excellent also. The quality and amount of food is a good value compared to some of the other restaurants in town. We will definitely be returning. read more

Love Mike's eatery! The food is always fresh and homemade, and the sandwiches are absolutely stacked, they are not stingy here. Also seems like they must roast and slice their own turkey because the meat is very high quality. read more

Caution when you eat at Mike's eatery. My husband and I went on a beautiful vacation with our lovely daughter. I have never been so appalled in my life at the service!!! Lastly the redhead that helped us was probably one of the most inept people I've encountered. too bad we left them a generous tip. read more

I really forget how good a sandwich can be sometimes. Luckily, we have places like Mike's that are here to remind us. I got the Jessie's grille and it was so delicious! Every bite was heaven. Great sandwiches (turkey avocado and grilled cheese with bacon) and seating outside or in the soda shop (which is a cute place).

Amazing service.... Food is good! And maybe I'm being a little bit of a butt hole however, when I'm dropping $15-$20 a sandwich, I just expect them to be correct. Don't make any mods on the sandwich, you'll be better off for it! read more

Oh my goodness this sandwich (The Mariner) was good!!! It was the perfect way to start the day being a tourist in Homer. The chicken was so tasty, and the texture was perfect for the sandwich. The sauce tied all the veggies, chicken and bacon together. I think my ONLY complaint was that it was really small and a little confusing that we had to sit in the next door Boba place. I think I personally just wanted a little more space but maybe I just came on the wrong day or something. I'd definitely come back next time I bring the girls for a girls weekend trip. I was full for hours!! The service was fast too. Waited only 10 minutes until we got our food and there was complimentary coffee!! read more

Incredible food! We make sure to come here whenever in Homer. Absolutely fantastic sandwiches and salads. As a connoisseur of Cobb salads, I think Mike's is the best I've had. You can tell the ingredients are top notch. The girls at the counter are friendly and helpful and the fact you can wait for your food in your own car is sweet. Don't let the small building fool you, great things come out of it. Best lunch in Homer. read more

In a tiny Alaska town packed with outstanding places to eat, Mike's sits near the top. From the outside, it looks like a large coffee stand. Although they do have insanely good coffee, a coffee stand this is not! This is a full-on restaurant. It's hard to articulate a theme throughout the food, they've got a bit of everything from classic sandwiches to more inventive scrambles and even some stuff with seafood because: Homer. I'd say the common thread is that everything tastes so BRIGHT and FRESH. You order at the counter and get coffee refills at the counter, I love this setup. I can get coffee when I feel like I'm ready. I'm not at the mercy of a pour that may never come. The décor here is great. Quirky, playful, fun. And, I have to mention, they have my all-time favorite hot sauce here: Secret Aardvark from Portland, OR. My sister just shipped me a case of it. That's how much I love it. This is the first place I've ever seen it in Alaska! On Sundays they also have an extra-special brunch menu. One of the menu items had the word "Broder" in it, and was inspired by one of my favorite places to eat when I lived in Portland. Mike told me they regularly take trips to the lower-48 for inspiration for new dishes. Just go here. ONE LAST THING: Mike's is actually open in the winter, many of the other great spots in Homer (La Baleine Café, Finn's Pizza, Little Mermaid) are very much CLOSED from Sep-April. ONE MORE THING...This place reminds me a lot of Froth & Forage just outside of Anchorage. Although this place was tecnically first, so maybe F&F reminds me of Mike's ;) read more

Good food and customer service is excellent. Try their biscuits and gravy. Their sandwiches, which I have had before are always good.

OK, I must admit that I have never had a turkey sandwich like this! Both my husband and I enjoyed the sandwiches, I had a turkey sandwich that had avocado on sourdough bread, and he had a spicier sandwich that had jalapeños. The place next-door called bubbles had great root beer floats, and, I got a wonderful shake. Nice people, nice atmosphere, Homer is a really cool town! read more

This was our second visit here. First time we had breakfast and it was pretty good! The place is super tiny and the staff are very kind and helpful. This time we ordered takeout with all of the COVID precautions happening. We ordered Jesse's Grill and the Main Street. They were both really good! Great flavors on both, I only wish they came with chips or a pickle. You can buy chips but it should come with them in my opinion. We ordered online and picked up, was efficient and easy, head to mikesalaskaneatery.com to order and pay. I really wanted the Sunday Benedict but with all that's going on they are just doing a normal menu and that's understandable. We will be back to try other things! read more

A small restaurant with just a few stools along a bar along the wall. The food is excellent would highly recommend a stop here for anything on their menu. A great find in Homer. We got our food to go and took it home. They use high-quality ingredients. They also have a seating area next to the place you order. You have to go outside and walk a few steps but it is a good option to sitting in the traffic area of the main area. The restaurant is not handicapped accessible read more

This was our second time eating from here, the first time being a few months ago during our last trip to Homer. I was not super happy with the first experience as they brought out my order incorrectly, twice. The food was also just okay during that trip, we only ate breakfast. This second time though, wow!! We did carry out because of the coronavirus. We got a tomato type soup, with bread, a Cobb salad, a BLT sandwich with avocado and onion added, and a Franklin sandwich. Everything was super fresh, I had the BLT and was blown away by the amount of bacon you get and that everything was fresh and tasted wonderful. I'm not sure if it was just a bad day during my first experience, but I'm glad I gave this place a second chance during our most recent trip. And the lady who delivered our food to the car had protective gear on and was super nice! Ate all the food before I even thought to take pictures! read more

This is truly a hidden little gem on Pioneer Avenue in Homer. They specialize in breakfast and lunch. While their menu may seem small, it is only because they use the freshest ingredients and have really mastered each dish they serve. My family and I ordered quite a few items on their breakfast menu to share and each one was packed with wonderful flavors and cooked to perfection. Worth the hunt to find this delicious piece of Homer! read more

Don't let the reasonably priced menu fool you. This is top quality. The salads are huge with fresh produce and complimentary flavors. The sandwiches...just wow! The BLT was perfection. And don't forget the lemonades. With preordering available, you can pull up and have the meal brought to your car. Great service. Great food. Find this tucked in treasure. read more

We had a delicious breakfast here on Labor Day! The ham had a nice smokey taste and was a good quantity for me. Mike's has been open about a year now, and it just keeps getting better. They've added some amazing subs and their Sunday brunch is the best in town. Creative and ever-changing daily specials, rotating sides served with each sandwhich, and always tasty treats in the desert box if you aren't already full. Try the shrimp po' boy. Actually, try all of the subs, they are all excellent and priced about the same as going to Subway, which I haven't been to since the day Mike's opened, because why would you when this is right don the streeet? read more

Amazing sandwiches!! We just had the Franklin and I can't even explain how delicious it was. Wow!

When we came here we didn't realize that all orders are done online. So we pulled out and ran some errands as we waited for our sandwiches. The sandwiches were ready but faster than expected which was a pleasant surprise. We only had to text our name to get the order so it was all super quick and easy. We ordered the mariner and the lambo. Both were incredibly delicious but the lambo was a personal favorite. The lambo was especially flavorful. We also got ice cream floats that were very good but a little light on flavor. I got the coconut cream soda and he got the peaches and cream. The flavor of the soda is so mellow you mostly taste the ice cream. I think I will get something with just soda next time. All around very delicious place and I keep recommending it to friends. read more

Brunch Reigns Supreme Nestled in the log cabins behind The Classic Cook, Mike's has killer food - there's no doubt of this when your life experiences involve having been the chef at McMurdo Station in Antarctica. The thing I love most? BRUNCH. These guys do brunch on the weekends better than anyone in town, and the best since Alice's closed this last time. There's an evolving revolving menu, which - more than anything - keeps it interesting and us well-fed during the cold, dreary winter months. The eatery itself is also pretty slick, with counter service and counter seating in one space, and more sit down right next door. If you're on the run, there's a few different things that are grab-and-go, but you always get take-away. read more

I ordered the Franklin and it was AMAZING!!! Huge sandwich, loaded to the brim with tasty ingredients. I'm addition to the delicious food, the folk at Mike's are also great - I was grocery shopping like a space cadet and lost track of time. They called me up, reminded me that I ordered a sandwich, then bagged the Franklin up and stored it on the patio so they could close up and I could swing by after I checked-out. 10/10 recommend; you can't go wrong eating here. read more

This is a cool little brunch place. The menu is simple and easy to understand. The area might look small at first but there is a separate eating area right next to kitchen and ordering area. You can order in the hut that says Mike and they will bring your food to you in the hut that says Alaska Eatery. The area is still kind of small. There are a couple of tables for about 4 people and one round table for about 6. There is water and cups in the sitting area along with an array of hot sauces to choose from. The food was ready pretty quick. I got the waffle. It was $10 and I was still pretty hungry after however it's probably the best waffle I've had. My partner for the half serving of biscuits and sausage gravy. It was very yummy but if you're a big eater you should prolly get the full serving. My bro got the big daddy meal which looked like a good classic breakfast meal with bacon eggs and potatoes. All in all it was a yummy brunch to have in Homer. I'll definitely stop by the next time I'm in the area. read more
