5/16/24 FYI, remodeling as we speak.
    Lee D.

Quality/Quantity - Surprised and disappointed. Due to our travels, and last minute plan changes, we only spent one night here (less than 8 hours)... And the bed was too stiff for me and I had some slight back pains when I left. Plus a long drive to Paso Robles the following day as we were continuing our winery tour. My wife booked a non refundable room (otherwise we would have canceled). Major construction is happening - I guess the good news is that future guests will/should have a beautiful place to stay. The pool and hot tub was closed during the remodel. The room was of decent size. Had issues with the hot water and shampoo dispenser. Both were fixed when we got back to the room. The fridge turns on for only 2 hours at a time??? Slight inconvenience. As I like my wine and beer cold!! Or was it a user issue...? Continental hot breakfast. Having hot self made waffles was nice. 24 hour coffee, thanks. Atmosphere - See pictures. The lobby interior was nice. The exterior was under remodel. Pet friendly. Plenty of parking, even with all the construction. Service - Checked us in right away/early. Thank you. But also warned us that the only room was near the main road and could have been noisy. Well not as noisy as the team remodeling outside... Price - $173, expensive for what we got. But again, we were in Napa... Owner Comment - I am sure you will be so much nicer after finishing your remodel.

I'm so happy we decided to stay here for one night.  It took a long time to get checked in but, other than that, everything was perfect!  The lobby is really nice, and they sell lots of yummy food items and gifts.  There's a kitchen area where breakfast is served.  They have a microwave and a toaster.  There are paper plates and bowls along with utensils.  I had some food that I wanted to heat up in the microwave so I asked the girl at the front desk if I could use a paper plate.  She told me to make myself at home.  How nice!  Our room was spacious and comfortable.  There was a Keurig and K-cups, and they provide shampoo, conditioner, and shower gel.  Their complimentary breakfast was, by far, the best breakfast we had on our 10-night road trip.  They had regular coffee, as well as decaf, flavored creamers, a variety of different teas, apple juice, orange juice, three kinds of cereal, muffins and Danish, yogurt and yogurt parfaits, bagels and toast, oatmeal, waffles that you can make yourself, hard boiled eggs, and fresh fruit including strawberries.  I highly recommend staying at this beautiful hotel if you are in the area.

wine-ing down for the night I stayed at this property overnight in May 2023 with my brother and sis-in-law. N O T E During our stay here in early May 2023, the lobby was under construction/renovation, and the "front desk" was temporarily relocate to a guest room on the 1st floor. Hopefully, the renovations have been completed by the time this review is (finally) written and posted. The parking lot is fairly spacious, and there was adequate signage directing guests to the temporary home of the front desk. The male staff member that assisted us was warm and welcoming, and gifted us a bottle of red wine when he discovered it was recently my brother's birthday. Our room had 2 queen beds, a small sitting area by the A/C unit, a decent size bathroom, and looked to be recently renovated. The beds were comfy, and the room met our needs for our overnight stay. The following morning, there were some breakfast offerings that we took advantage of; mainly fruits and small pastries. Very convenient to "grab and go". B O T T O M L I N E Overall, a decent one night stay a the Napa Winery Inn.

Complimentary Bottle of Wine for my 50th birthday

5 Stars - A Birthday to Remember Thanks to Randy! I can't say enough great things about my experience at Napa Winery Inn -- especially thanks to Randy at the front desk! From the moment I arrived, he made me feel welcomed, acknowledged my 50th birthday with such warmth, and went above and beyond to make my stay memorable. Every time I passed through the lobby, Randy greeted me with a friendly smile, made sure I was comfortable and well taken care of, and was incredibly accommodating. He thoughtfully took the time to explain all the best local deals, restaurants, and wineries -- which made exploring Napa even more enjoyable. What truly touched me was the personalized birthday surprise: wine, chocolates, and a beautiful card just for me. It was so thoughtful and unexpected, and it made me feel truly celebrated. I loved and appreciated every detail of my stay, and Randy was a huge part of why it was so special. Thank you, Randy, for your kindness, hospitality, and for making my milestone birthday unforgettable. You are a gem, and Napa Winery Inn is lucky to have you!

We had a very nice stay at this hotel. Friendly staff, warm and inviting lobby, and clean comfortable rooms. I used the hot tub twice, the water was hot and the jets were strong, and the area was relatively clean. Though you could smell how strong the chlorine was, I felt it was a well maintained jacuzzi. The breakfast was exactly what you'd expect, but the hot Chocolate and Yogurt parfaits were a nice touch to make it seem special.

I booked a stay through my credit card and it was really easy to check in and out. No additional charges at the property and no hidden fees, thank goodness. They do offer a continental breakfast and it's pretty standard - cereal, milk, fruits, bagels, etc. they also have a small dining space for you to eat your continental breakfast. Our room was spacious and clean enough, I guess? The bench and night stands were dirty. Almost as if they didn't wipe them down and that makes me wonder if they fully clean the rest of the room then... The TV had Netflix which was cool and the bathroom lighting was great. There was also shampoo, conditioner and body wash available in the shower. The bed was pretty firm and the pillows were terrible. They looked fluffy but after laying on them for 20 minutes they flattened out completely and you were basically laying on the mattress. Terrible. It made for a struggle to sleep at night. We were also on the first floor which I wouldn't recommend. The laundry/supply room were just down the hall so we heard everything in the morning. It got pretty loud. The inn is pretty central to everything. We drove to Yountville one day and Sonoma the other. It's also not too far from downtown Napa. If you're looking for a cheaper and decent stay then this Inn is a great choice!

    Charming and spacious room!

How this place doesn't have higher ratings is beyond me!!! We checked in on a late Friday rainy night to celebrate our 17th wedding anniversary. Mariana was so friendly and gave us great suggestions for dinner since it was so late. She also gave us a bottle of wine to start our celebratory weekend. The room was so cute but most importantly it was clean! They really go the extra mile here! Every employee we came across was kind and greeted us with a warm smile. Mariana didn't let us go outside without an umbrella which I appreciated so much! Breakfast was basic-not too many options but what they had was of great quality. There was a little bit of construction but that just shows they care about improving their facilities for their guest. I highly recommend the Napa Winery Inn and we will definitely be back!

Here on personal business. Friendly 24 hr front desk. February stay. Low $100 range for one night. Newly remodeled modern barn decor with a West Elm vibe. Adequately clean. Allows pets. Elevators to 2nd and 3rd floors. Interior halls : no exterior doorways to rooms. Windows are single paned. So if you are a light sleeper request rooms on the residential or interior side. The traffic sirens and large big rigs are very audible. Location is near the main road and near a freeway area. Rooms on the freeway side are louder. Rooms away are quieter. The hotel was not full so we were not bothered by neighbors' noise minus the ice machine a few times. Snack area near the check in desk. Apples , hard boiled eggs, oatmeal, orange juice, coffee, Bananas , cold cereal and milk yogurt, lemon ice water dispenser a basket with hot chocolate packets, tea, etc. Breakfast is continental. As with all hotels after Covid shut down housekeeping isn't up and running to speed yet. Not as detailed . A lot of the older citizens are staffing hotel maid service. If hotels were to simply purchase reading glasses for older staff this will likely up the quality of detailed cleaning. Either that or pay better health insurance including eye insurance. Upholstered items and rugs not pristine clean but good. Bed was clean. Not a fan of feather or down pillows with large feathers that you can feel through the pillowcases ; High end goose feather pillows need very high thread count coverings ( like ridiculously high end as in Yves Delorme) and extra layers so feathers are unfelt by the sleeping clients. It's probably why so many hotels forego the feathers except on throw pillows. Bathroom is clean with classy Bigelow brand shower gel, shampoo and conditioner in fashionable and eco friendly dispensers attached to the subway style white tiles in the shower walls. Overall would recommend over a lot of other options Safe somewhat residential area. Ample parking. As usual I have trouble sleeping in a hotel... so view my review from the point of view of a person who is a light sleeper to begin with. There is a steak house behind this hotel. Il postal trattoria is very close as well, although not walking distance. Drive about 400 meters and over the freeway. We had a car so we can't review walking distances on this trip Pets allowed but not to be left in rooms alone ( kind of like small children right) It's a budget hotel. But during high season this place can be pricey ! It is however better than a motel 6 and cleaner than some B and B's and most budget hotel motels downtown that are more expensive but quite run down ( as in black grout) and can be much noisier if inebriated wine tasting tourists are just outside off of Main Street. This hotel is nice for under $250 max. I recommend this hotel. Be aware of what to expect and you will be fine.

Before it flooded the entire bathroom
    Yesenia E.

It's a cute inn, however we experience many bumps during our two night stay. Within an hour of arriving. The toilet starts to flood and water starts pouring all over the bathroom floor and inside our room, resulting in our belongings getting wet. Only one employee is working per night shift. They ask if we can sleep there for the night and we say no because the floors are covered in toilet water and we are unable to use the bathroom. So we can handed a pile of towels. We ask for another room. However they are sold out. By some miracle they manage to find a spare room at midnight. So we can sleep for the night. At 2am we are sound asleep and an employee barges into our room. No door knock. No phone call. No announcement of who they are. They basically OPEN our door and walk in. Of course we have no idea what's going on. A room with three women get woken up by a male employee at 2am. Of course we thought someone was breaking in so we start to scream. The employee runs off. We call the front desk and the employee tells us he apologizes he didn't know the room was occupied. Wtf! During the shift change they didn't relay the information. So we go back to sleep. Once again 9am rolls around and we are trying to catch up on sleep since employees want to walk in our rooms as we sleep and they ask who we are. Multiple times we have to explain what happened. We then go out and return to find our keys dont work. We have to go to the front desk where there is a different employee who didn't know we had our room switched. Once again we have to explain our story. On our day of departure we find additional charges for the hotel room. I wouldn't stay here again.

We did have a few pretty serious negatives to our experience tho . The day we pulled in, tired from a long road trip, it was pouring rain and we could not even find the front door. We walked all around the plaza containing their other businesses- coffee shop/restaurant etc and nearly gave up after walking all the way around the entire building. Once we found the front door , which is located on the Main Street the valet service ( which is required unless you want to park 3 blocks away ! ) was not very welcoming. We had lots of luggage and in the pouring rain we struggled to get our bags onto the cart, they did not help us at all. The guest services man Jorge was great and friendly and even upgraded us to a nicer room for our troubles. Once in the room we tried to hook up our Amazon fire stick to watch t.v. But the tv was flush against the wall and we could not reach the HDMI port. We called downstairs and they said they would send someone up to help. Half an hour went by and no one came so I called downstairs again , at which time i was told "our t.v.'s do not accommodate that' . That is a total lie , any tv with an HDMI port can be used with a fire stick, we guessed they were just too lazy/ busy to come up. The tv was very large , but was not even a smart tv . What the heck ???? Even a basic motel has a smart tv. We went down to the lobby bar to have some drinks and a snack . The hostess in the restaurant said we could sit anywhere in the lobby and someone would help us. We waiting for 20 minutes and no one even acknowledged us so we left . Other people had food and drinks so I don't know what that was about ..... We decided to just eat dinner on the rooftop and be done with this experience. The hostess was very uninspiring about her job and seated us. The dinner service was decent , it was pouring rain and we got a bit drizzled on between the louvres of the rooftop awning but overall dinner was ok. Due to the "snobby feel" of most of the staff and the lack of t.v. Options i would probably not stay here again. It's a shame because it was a nice location.

I recommend the reader staying elsewhere if you have any valuable items. My story below. We stayed at the Archer Hotel Napa mid December 2025. When departing the property, I left my Stetson cowboy hat in the room ($1K+). Realizing this the next day, I contacted the Archer Hotel who informed me that nothing was reported yet (with a promise for a follow up notice). After 3 weeks of silence, I reached out again and was told that staff had not found the hat in the room. I must point out that the hat was packed in a special-purpose large box; given the size, special packing, value, and nature of the item, it is inconceivable that it would have been discarded as trash. Evidently, it was stolen. I then escalated this issue to management who mostly ignored my requests (I can share various emails for those who care). I did learn that there is security footage but access or review of it was denied (and one would wonder why that was not done in December following my first call?). This makes it evident that management (GM Michael Pace and Director of Operations Patricia Wilson) prefer to turn a blind eye and as such indirectly approves of staff holding on to left-behind items of value. Again: this is theft. I am now left with filing a report with the Napa Police Department.

Bathtub inside is broken and can't use to take a bath and looks like it's been broken for a while. We were greeted warmly upon checkin and thanks to Hilton diamond, we were upgraded to a nicer cottage. The person checking us in enthusiastically described the bryte balance beds in these upgrades rooms that allow personalized settings. However when we got to the room, we couldn't find the instructions to adjust the bed. Long story short, there was a lot of back and forth and conflicting communication from different staff members. For some reason our upgraded room did not have the updated beds- still not clear to me why since the website advertises these upgraded beds in our room type. In any case, the staff was nice to offer a consolation bottle of wine, which unfortunately we did not drink as we were celebrating our baby moon. The property itself is beautiful and two pool areas that includes a separate heater pool and a hot tub. It was quite empty when we were there. The common area near the restaurant had a lot of fire pits for enjoying. The room was nice , very spacious with heated floors and an expansive private patio with outdoor tub and outdoor shower along with outdoor fireplace. Requesting service was hit or miss. We tried texting as instructed which took ~30 min to respond. When trying to call, at times, phone would ring without anyone picking up. We requested additional water and matches for outdoor fireplace several times, but neither of these ever arrived so we gave up. As Hilton Diamond members, breakfast was included. However it didn't seem like a special benefit since it seems like breakfast is included for many who book direct. For a pricey luxury resort, I thought breakfast was a bit lacking - with only 1 hot option (quiche). The rest were fruit, cheese and charcuterie and bread/bagel. A la Carte items could be ordered for a fee and anything more than black coffee (eg cappuccino) would be extra. This is better than the $15/p credit at other Hilton properties but given that this is a SLH and a high end luxury resort, I guess I expected breakfast to be a bit more substantial. Given that this was a free night award, I wasn't too disappointed, but if I stayed here with the cash rate, I think my rating would drop to 3-3.5.

She had never been there, and I wanted to surprise her, so she had no idea where we're going. It turned out to be one of the best decisions that I have made since my children have left the nest. The hotel upon entering is very inviting. The staff is incredibly friendly. And the ambience is unbelievable what you would expect of a five-star hotel in LA yet with the charm of a small-town feel. So let me begin with our inception. Upon walking in, we were greeted and given water and asked if we would like to upgrade our room. The room upgrade offered a patio with a propane fireplace and chairs for only $50 extra a night, we gladly said yes. Every evening, we were given a voucher for drinks, 2 drinks per person, alcoholic that is. Each morning, we had free breakfast. You had a choice of an egg McMuffin-style sandwich, a chorizo burrito, or an egg potato and cheese burrito. The egg cheese and potato burrito is the way to go. It is so big I could have cut it into three parts and eaten it for lunch breakfast and dinner. They have a small store inside of the restaurant which you purchase what you want, and you scan it yourself, that was kind of nice. There was a pool and jacuzzi, and we went in the jacuzzi the very first night since there was no one there yet, but as it got closer to Thanksgiving more families came in. I will have to say this is the first time that we haven't had children with us, because both of our children are out of the nest in college. So, this is the first Thanksgiving dinner we had NOT at home. But I must admit, it was fantastic-yet bittersweet We had turkey, stuffing, cranberry sauce, potatoes and gravy and we had ube pie. For those of you that don't know what ube pie is, it's a Filipino purple sweet potato. When I saw that on the menu, even though I'm not Filipino, I knew I had to have a pie at least. We got the whole meal, it was fantastic the turkey was succulent mashed potatoes and gravy were awesome I don't like stuffing, but my wife ate my stuffing, and we had asparagus as well if I remember correctly. I had spoken to the front-end manager, I believe, or the beverage manager and she is Pinay, so this is why, I assume, they had the ube pie instead of pumpkin pie, but it was amazing. Even if it's not Thanksgiving, ask if they have ube pie. It's very convenient because it is right next to the freeway so you can travel up north and take ancillary streets to go up to where all the wineries are at. We didn't take a winery tour, because we're not viticulturists, but if you are, it's a fantastic place to go.

They have a box to go pick up breakfast in the lobby/bar area with one gentleman controlling the hot meal which is either a sausage egg muffin, a chorizo burrito or a egg, bacon and potato burrito. Seeing people sitting in the lobby with their breakfast box looks uncomfortable and tacky. Otherwise, look forward to staying here in my future visit to wine country

Second of all, the facial was nothing special to cost that much. I have better facials at home at my local salon, and usually pay less than $100. At the end of the facial the esthetician, who had just spent the last 75 mins cleaning all the gunk off my face and out of my pores, then proceeded to put a nasty tinted moisturizer all over my face! I asked her about it at the time, told her that I do not wear makeup of any kind, and even told her I was concerned about it getting on the collar of my light grey sweater. She just slathered it on. Told me if I didn't like it I could use a tissue to wipe it off! When I went to get dressed after my service I looked in the mirror and saw that I did in fact look like a tangerine. Thankfully I had some cleaning wipes in my bag, and was able to get it all off. So I basically wiped off $395 of facial in two minutes with a cheap drug store towelette. Great. So, basically, stay at the hotel or maybe trying out the restaurant, but avoid the spa!

When we arrived (early) our room was ready, SCORE, and we were greeted with Mumm Brut. Such a treat. Nick and Raymond were so helpful during our check in. Raymond remembered us from last year and that made the experience so much more personal. Also a shout out to the valet/bell hop staff. They are so fast, friendly, and helpful! Really appreciate them! The room was awesome! We had steam shower and an outdoor shower which was an upgrade from our room from last year. The fridge is stocked with water and Boylan cola if you need a pick me up. Love the spacious patio and his and her sinks. We spent the first day at the pool, which was very quiet and relaxing. The pool bar was closed but not an issue because you can just call the bar and they will bring you whatever you need. Also LOVE the pool top views. The grounds of this hotel are so serene, with art installations! Unfortunately, our precious Toby (fur baby) had a medical situation there and our stay was cut short. We had 3 nights planned and only got to stay 1. I want to say a HUGE THANK YOU to Raymond, the front office manager. You made our decision to leave an no brainer and we didn't have any stress about not staying the other 2 nights. We will forever be loyal to Bardessono, due to the love and care that was showed to us by you that morning while we were in distress. Also thank you to the staff who was there on the night shift for parking our car when we returned from the emergency vet at 3:30 AM. While we were sad to leave we most definitely are looking forward to the next time we come back.

No seasoning on the meat, vegetarian ravioli had 3-4 raviolis in tomato water. Food could definitely use salt. There were so many nearly full plates going back to the kitchen! Whoever makes the desserts and pastries bravo every dessert I tried was great. Drinks were great, solid selection of beer. If I had just gone for the event and gone home this would be a 1/2 star review. The Bar in the main building was very nice and service was impeccable, and the entry way fire place makes for a great entrance. The Rooms were really nice, clean and really quiet. The service from pretty much every person seemed like they were eager to help and very friendly. The quality of the room and service from staff saved The Meritage from the awful, mass produced and unseasoned banquet food I was served. I would've liked to explore more, Maybe try an actual restaurant here but I was here for just one night and had to hit the road. It's a beautiful resort with an exceptional staff so I can at least recommend that much.

Only we were left waiting. We waited for 1.5 hours and just stepped out. We got a message at 5:45pm that our room was ready, came back and checked into the room. Turn on TV and sign into Youtube, it freezes. Olive and Hay is so busy as an external restaurant, we didn't get a seat, guests are not prioritized. Neither is there room service from Olive and Hay. We couldn't sit down and have breakfast, we had to go elsewhere. Checkout is prompt, not given any additional time, because they had get the cleaning done. If thats the case, why didn't we get the room at 4? It just ruined our evening and trip to Napa.

FRAUD ALERT…read more Boyfriend & I came here on January 31st. We got massages which we paid the gratuity for that very day since we were charged right away. As of yesterday 2/27 I've been charged $86 by "The Inn on First" which I noticed immediately as either a mistake or fraud. I called them & front desk receptionist seemed very confused & even apologetic because of the fact I was there one month ago & not yesterday! I told her I would like to be refunded & she of course had to get the owner involved, understandably. The owner, Celia, calls me & already had a defensive rude tone to her voice which was confusing because of the situation. She claims that I had not been charged for the gratuity from the massages & that they had just now caught it & were charging me now. I told her that I know for a fact we had already paid for the gratuity based on the amount charged to my card which was the total cost of the massages including the gratuity. She argued stating my numbers were not accurate & that they again will be keeping my $86. I told her this is fraud & she knows it. & I will be putting a review on Yelp regarding this. She then changed up & said if I have an issue with the gratuity charge that I'll have to take it up with the massage employees as if they were a separate entity- which they may be but again, my credit card statement shows that it's "The Inn On First" that is charging me this $86 I responded to Celia by reminding her that this is HER BUSINESS & that she should be the one to resolve this! She responded by basically stating it's not her problem. Absolute fraud! We were intending on coming back and to this place soon but they lost our business & I'll be disputing this charge with my credit card company. CELIA YOU NEED BETTER CUSTOMER SERVICE PEOPLE SKILLS. Interestingly enough this apparently happens to people every so often here which leads me to believe we were targeted by her!

We got champagne at check in along with fantastic cookies. The room was well appointed with a fireplace and private hot tub in room. The shower too was spacious, clean, and powerful. Overall the place checked all the boxes and then some. The breakfast was over and above our expectations. Fresh fruit and a delicious homemade muffin to start. Cold juices and hot coffee. Yogurt and granola. All before the menu comes out with a custom made hot breakfast. My wife got avocado toast and I got an omelette. Both came with house made potatoes and mine had an option for a variety of toasts to choose from. All delicious and a great way to start the day. Really grateful to have found this place and already thinking about when we could go back. Also, perhaps most important, it's walkable to just about everything downtown, including the oxbow market and all the restaurants and shops in between, of which there are many.
