My parents were members of Travis Credit Union beginning in the late 1970s and early 1980s, when membership was limited to military personnel and their families. Throughout those many years, they never experienced any issues. When I became eligible, my mother opened an account for me as well--back when Travis was not yet open to the general public. Over time, I banked elsewhere, but eventually returned to Travis when my previous financial institution was acquired by them. I believed I would be in good hands. Unfortunately, since Travis transitioned into a public-serving financial institution, my experience has not been the same. On multiple occasions, I have had funds available in my account that later seemed to disappear. The transactions--both pending and completed--do not clearly reflect where the money has gone. This lack of transparency has caused my account balance to appear lower than expected, which in turn has impacted my ability to cover bills. I have researched possible explanations but have not found clear answers. One explanation I came across--though I still need to verify it--is that Travis may place funds on hold and then move them into pending status. If this is accurate, I find the practice concerning and potentially misleading for members who rely on accurate, real-time account information. I am hoping to receive full clarification after speaking with a customer service representative tomorrow. Wish me luck.

Driving from branch to branch & getting nowhere. Their letter asked me to find a form which they don't provide & the county says doesn't exist. So not helpful in resolving issues either. There just isn't any real help to be had here. So I'm closing all accounts & moving elsewhere! There's no longer any value to be had with this agency. The branches don't have safe deposit boxes & they charge now for things that used to be free. I'm disappointed & wont come back again nor recommend to others

As usual (not my first time at this branch), the line is long with only two tellers *sigh*. The staff here are efficient, definitely not the most personable. If you're a person or family barely making it living paycheck to paycheck and don't have a hefty savings or investments account, They will absolutely not value you as a customer. Long story short, they unexpectedly closed all 6 of our accounts without warning. Funds all frozen and no way to get them back within a reasonable time. My husband had been on disability for a few weeks. So he had not been receiving his employers direct deposit into our joint account. But his personal account, which Edd gets direct deposit to, and my personal account, where I receive my employers direct deposit, (Zelle, Venmo & cashapp from my small business) have been active. There was a scheduled payment that we forgot about come out of our joint that over drafted our account. However there were funds in our personal and savings accounts that could have been transferred over to take care of that, but because our joint account had been inactive for longer then 45 days (no deposits or withdrawals or transactions), that was the reasoning why all accounts where closed. Not just the joint account in question. We thought we were being responsible by not using said account since my husband was not working. When I called and asked why I hadn't received a courtesy call, to warn us about closing all accounts, Jimmy R. Said "we don't do courtesy calls". This was extremely frustrating as we both had our direct deposits pending and rent due. The j Ku solution given was to return to the branch and open new accounts, but funds from old accounts would be sent by mail and take up to 10 business days. Pending direct deposits would bounce back, as accounts were no longer active. So opening new accounts would absolutely not solve our problem. Conveniently our car loan account was kept open so we could walk into any branch and pay off our loan at our convenience. I've been banking with Travis longer than 10 years. Never in my life have I felt so small. Given our financial hardship and not receive any sympathy. We weren't asking for anything but our funds same day so we can pay our rent and eat. We are still waiting for said check and Jimmy to give us an update. We w called back twice and both associates have let us know that there are notes from Jimmy and to just wait for his call. Stay away! You've been warned!

I saw someone at the office front - a younger man with glasses who although seemingly polite in his words clearly didn't trust or believe me. I had received an advertisement in the mail with an introductory interest of 4.5%, he asked if I had this on me and I responded that I did not. Nothing on the advertisement directed me to keep it and bring it into the branch. He then queried me about what the ad card stated and I gave him the details that I remembered. He said not everyone gets one of these and you have to be 'invited' to receive one! He then stated he had to have the correct code on the flier, but was able to look it up online after making a call and also confirm the details that I had earlier described. I provided a personal check drawn on a local financial institution and he stated he would have to place a hold on it for 7 business days with a tiered release of $225.00 immediately, and additional amount two business days later and then the remaining balance 7 business days or 11 calendar days later. When I got home from this transaction, I realized how uncomfortable I felt with him and how they ran their 'ship' -- there was NO attempt to shorten the holds even though I've sent checks out of state that have cleared in less than 4 business days. So much for being 'invited'! I decided to close ALL of my accounts there. When I returned, I was told I couldn't close the money market account until the check was returned because it had already been submitted through ACH. I immediately placed a stop payment on the check. And I could not close my other accounts until the next day because they placed another hold on another (government)check. My other financial institution knows me, trusts me, and attempts to provide some level of customer service by analyzing what's in front of them. Goodbye, Travis- Southampton, your interest rates were enticing, but your customer services suck enough for me to never want to return again. Oh, and when I went online to share my experience with them, they obviously muted any ability to share anything... I couldn't even type one letter in the box provided.

Although the wait was substantial because there was a lot of customers, the process was very smooth and informative. I chose right to bypass the online application because the person that helped me was very friendly with lots of information about the different accounts that were available. She was just awesome and an asset to the bank. I did deduct one point from a perfect score because Travis did not give me an ATM card unto the second try and then failed to mail a pin code which I have read in other reviews as well. They told me they went with a new company that delivers the PIN code and I have requested this several times and was ordered a few times but never came. I ordered it to the bank itself to be kept in their vault they said-NEVER came! I ordered it to the house-NEVER came! I gave up and don't use the ATM anyway as I go into the bank itself which you do not need a card like other banks so they tell me. I have never withdraw yet because it is in a multi-month CD so when the time comes I will update it it goes smoothly to withdraw my money or not?! That kind of makes me suspect in reality why are they having so much trouble with a PIN code being delivered to its customers-like do they want to prevent people taking their money out!? However, I did check and TCU has a good and solid bank rating. It is insured by the NCUA (like FDIC but for credit unions). At least making some money, since regular big banks are not giving anything other than pennies literally. So I will update if anything is questionable or not good, but so far it has been great and I earned a good amount. I did rollover into the best interest rate again although it was a bit lower, but still decent among the brick and mortar. You can get quite a bit sometimes with online banking, but I honestly do not trust online banking because there is no place you can go to if sometghing happens and they shut down and cannot reach them online or on the phone, who can you go to?! At least the brick and mortar places, you have someone you can yell at or get your money hopefully and I mean if they invested in a physical place with employees, etc more of a chance it is invested in its company. Updated to add: manager read my Yelp and personally called to help me with getting an ATM card and PIN code. She apologized for the problem and said she will do anything to make it right! Way to go- I appreciated it being a customer and not just an account number like in the big banks. I like TCU even more now!
