Myy review does not reflect my experience with the Fairfield branch specifically, but rather with Travis Credit Union as a whole and its current practices. My parents were members of Travis Credit Union beginning in the late 1970s and early 1980s, when membership was limited to military personnel and their families. Throughout those many years, they never experienced any issues. When I became eligible, my mother opened an account for me as well--back when Travis was not yet open to the general public. Over time, I banked elsewhere, but eventually returned to Travis when my previous financial institution was acquired by them. I believed I would be in good hands. Unfortunately, since Travis transitioned into a public-serving financial institution, my experience has not been the same. On multiple occasions, I have had funds available in my account that later seemed to disappear. The transactions--both pending and completed--do not clearly reflect where the money has gone. This lack of transparency has caused my account balance to appear lower than expected, which in turn has impacted my ability to cover bills. I have researched possible explanations but have not found clear answers. One explanation I came across--though I still need to verify it--is that Travis may place funds on hold and then move them into pending status. If this is accurate, I find the practice concerning and potentially misleading for members who rely on accurate, real-time account information. I am hoping to receive full clarification after speaking with a customer service representative tomorrow. Wish me luck. read more

Hours have changed & no one answers their customer service phones. My category wasn't in their automated list so I couldn't get through to a human. Led to a whole morning of frustration! Driving from branch to branch & getting nowhere. Their letter asked me to find a form which they don't provide & the county says doesn't exist. So not helpful in resolving issues either. There just isn't any real help to be had here. So I'm closing all accounts & moving elsewhere! There's no longer any value to be had with this agency. DO NOT DO BUSINESS HERE. BE AWARE They will discriminate against you during the lending process for your race/religion and other identifying factors that violate the Equal Opportunity Credit Act. They literally had me sign a contract, open a card issued the line of credit issued and even had the card showing up in my account. Then the loan person that had an issue with me personally decided to suspend my card and funding which is now negatively affecting my credit situation because of it. They treated me like a criminal after an approval...I have a 706 score and it was an instant approval with no income docs required...Then everything changed when 1 person got involved well after I was approved...PLEASE SAVE YOURSELF THE TROUBLE!! I have realized that their review is so long due! This branch is very welcoming and friendly staff! I have been in need of $2 bills and visited my other bank Wells Fargo, but unfortunately, they weren't able to help or even provide options for me. Thank you that I tried my luck here at this branch and was helped and assisted. The teller that help me (sorry, forgot her name) but, at the time I came in, they weren't available BUT she was more than happy to order them for me and called me when they came in. This branch has very accommodating and friendly representatives. Be it the teller area or their customer service area, they seem to all help each other out to get their customer serviced. Every time I attempt to make a simple phone in loan Pmt their moronic system DOES NOT WORK!! They force me to wait online for a rep & then of course they want an additional charge! I try online & of course that does not work!!! I also deal with Toyota Financial for a different truck loan with NO PROBLEM!! With these idiots their is always an issue!! In addition to your more traditional T-Rex account, I've always banked with a local credit union for ease and convenience. The unparalleled personalized service here at Travis Credit Union is great! As soon as you walk in you're greeted with that good mom and pop feeling which I adore. You can do business here in several ways. You can walk in during business hours, or use the twenty four hour walk-up or drive-up ATMs. I had to deposit coins from our girls' giant Coke bottle piggy bank. Over a number of days, my wife neatly sorted, counted and coin wrapped all the loose change per denomination and packed it in a suitcase. When I walked in with da medium sized suitcase on wheels, I felt a little embarrassed. I said to myself Jethro, what the hell are you doing? But I wasn't about to break my back. Collectively the coins weighed well over in excess of a hundred pounds yikes! The ladies behind the counter were so kind enough to happily sort and tally up the coins for deposit. I asked if there was a better way to do this in the future and they gave me a few good suggestions. If i could give this place ZERO stars I would! Absolute horrible experience. Would never recommend this place to anyone. And its sad, i used to like banking here, but 1 single person ruined all of that for me. The mobile app sucked sure lol, but the tellers were always nice and helpful, and the african american banker lady, whos name escapes me, was always helpful and friendly. So walked in here one Friday morning and met with one of the financial reps, ROSALINDA, to apply for an auto loan. And at first it seemed ok, she had a little attitude in her tone but we said whatever. Got the quote and proceeded to with our day to plan the car purchase. We came back the following Monday, to finalize the paperwork. Again bit of a rude tone but i didnt care, just wanted to get it over with. Got the paperwork and as we were proceeding to sign stuff then a bunch of fees started coming up. Mind you this was a private sale auto loan. So now she starts saying that dmv fees cant be paid out of pocket, they have to be included in the loan. Golden 1 allowed me to pay said fees out of pocket AND even found some of them were unnecessary so didnt charge them at all. So there we are sitting there waiting for the paperwork to finalize and print so we can sign. ROSALINDA telling us multiple times "sorry were just waiting for the papers to go thru" after 15-20 minutes of waiting then she goes "so the interest rate went up 1% from what we originally quoted you" and i was livid! I was confused how it is we were sitting there waiting the whole time, going thru all that work, and all of a sudden our rate went up?! And before you tell me im being unreasonable, i understand those things can happen especially in todays market, but when we came to get the quote originally it was never mentioned the quote would not be held and could possibly change. And dont tell me you didnt know that the interest rate had gone up, before we started processing all the paperwork. And then she had the nerve to throw an attitude at us for saying nevermind, well keep looking around. Like were the ones who lied to her! Like were the ones who tried to play her. Like were the ones who were the SLEAZY bankers. Absolute and utter garbage service out of her. Shady business! I would advise caution if you go in to see her for your banking needs. Walked in the branch the next day and closed my account. Now i have no complaints about banking with Travis, but this woman ruined my whole image of this institution and for that they lost my business. Every phone interaction with the TCU service center takes longer and longer. They understaff and blame COVID in 2022. This call was supposed to take 12 minutes by their estimate; I have been on now for 35 minutes. The call tree is horrible and the recorded loop is about 45 seconds. Over and over, the same message. I use the online banking functions and they work fine. This is for a function that I should be able to complete on line but I have to call in. Archaic system. read more

Ok there was some miscommunication at Travis especially in my case with a Mortgage modification and liens being everywhere. This refi business has everyone totally covering their bases. Eileen makes the process easier and her manager reached out to me to explain to me why they need specific paperwork. I have tried to refinance my home thru another lender but Travis seems to have thus process down, I will provide another update . After 10 years of being a loyal member they screw me and treat me like garbage. I am SO GLAD I no longer bank with them. Everything they do is slow, corrupt, and not in their member's interest. They "record" phone conversations with members, but won't allow the member to listen to the tapes. They IGNORE request to file disputes. CROOKS. I wish I could give this company no stars. I tried to pay off my car and when I wired over the money it was missing "a suffix" which was not listed on my statement so it ended up in some sort of a savings account which apparently opened when I signed for the auto loan. Ten days later we call to ask when we will receive confirmation that the loan was paid off and they notify us that it has not and the exact pay of amount is sitting in this savings account. The gentleman said he would move the money in the correct place today but now we owe more. I offered to pay on the phone (the additional $45) but he said there would be a $12 fee which I assume would go towards the privilege I had to speak to this 'customer service agent'. As a member of the hospitality industry, out of courtesy and miscommunication on their end that fee should have been waived. Anyway, I am mailing a check to them for the difference. The agent said that he would keep an eye on my account for the confirmation. I asked why that wasn't done before and he gave me the 'everything is electronically processed' answer. I told him I was not happy with the customer service and instead of apologizing he replied - "I think we have great customer service". HA! Long story short - avoid this credit union at all costs. Called in to discuss my account and had to hold for 15 minutes! I was directed to the branch to complete the matter. About 6 workers in the branch and only one doing customer service and she was discussing every aspect of her personal life with her current customer despite the growing line. There needs to be more cross training or more people to help customers. You should not have to wait a half an hour to speak to someone. read more

Thanks to the staff at this branch of TCU. Was greeted promptly upon my entry and was directed to where I needed to go to handle my transactions for the day. Unlike most banks where one is treated as just another customer, this branch of Travis treated their guests/customers as individuals and maintain a polite and friendly attitude that solidified my decision to move to a Credit Union years ago. I have a car loan through travis credit union and I hate them. They have a very bad third party insurance administrator. They have increased my payment and add their own insurance because they keep saying I dont have any. I have had AAA for years my representative has faxed over my information many times. They put my car up for Repo 4x times because they double my payment with their insurance without tell me. You can ask for statements which you will never receive. I attempted to settle with them but their manager Janet is not very friendly. I explained my situation and they never take responsability for their third party messing up. They are looking to make 2X more than what you owe. DO NOT ever deal with these people! read more

To make a payment over the phone with a real life person WOW is a fee of $12.50! Or how about using the automated system oh well she only cost a convenience fee of $10...convenience? Ya right. My husband banks at a bank and is finally getting ready to move his accounts over to the credit union because they are more helpful and care about their customers. The worst customer service I have had from any bank! Have been in several times and the customer service is always terrible. Had plans to open several accounts when we moved here but the lady didn't know what she was doing and it took over an hour just to open 1 acct. I have been to the branch in Suisun and their customer service was excellent! I won't go back to this office unless they hire new people. read more

They said I had a credit card with them I don't recall that but I needed a new bank as I was moving out of state and I wanted to open up a bank account with Wells Fargo so I would not have to pay fees as Travis Credit Union isn't in all states and I went and paid it after I got my taxes in 09 then I went back to Wells Fargo and they said okay good open up a bank account now that I cleared it with Travis. Now Travis still says I owe them almost $1,500 as it was never paid off? then why did Wells Fargo let me open up a bank account? I paid off what I owed I got a stamp that stated was paid! I brought it back to Wells Fargo and they said okay I'm clear to open a bank account go figure now it's on my credit report read more

I've never had any issues with TCU. I've been banking with them over 20 yrs and even kept them after moving out of the area with no branches nearby. No charges for telephone banking or transfer to pay as mentioned in another review or no fees for using the automated system. I've also had car loans with no issues....free checking, free savings, no fees to use other credit unions' atms. I love my bank! read more

Travis Credit Union is a horrible institution that misrepresents itself as a caring, friendly community credit union but let me tell you, they do not practice what they preach. My husband is an Airman in the United States Air Force as is my brother. They both applied for first time car buyer loans with this so called "military friendly" credit union who quoted us an 18.9-23%interest rate because of his rank and age! Now don't get me wrong, I understand credit rating and account history but for an industry that promotes helping people seems their practice is a little out of sorts. Seems that a military credit union would try to help their young military members out by making sure they get a good solid start instead of screwing them right out of the gate. Excuse me...inside of the the gate, We discussed the issue with our first sergeant who is the go-to-guy for enisted matters and he agreed the rate was not a good choice for a sound financial decision and upon futher investigation we found out the first sergeants have actually asked Travis Credit Union about their practice and been told it will not be reduced. I should have learned my lesson the first time. I had a loan with them when I first moved to California. When I sold the vehicle, it took over 30 days for me to receive my title, even though I was promised 7-10 days. When I called they basically told me it was out of their control. Fast forward a year or two and my wife buys a new car prior to my short-notice deployment, which I think is part of what drove us to Travis again (proximity and timeline). Three years go by and I pay the balance on the loan in CASH....not a check...cash. A week and a half passes and no paperwork has even been sent to the DMV. When I call to inquire, I'm told that they will not even begin the process for 10 business days as there is a "hold". A hold on what? I paid cash. Now two weeks and still no updates and they can't tell me anything. Sold the car and have the new owner waiting on a title. BTW, USAA gets me my titles within 5-7 days most of the time, and they don't even have branches. To top it off, their rates are awful compared to every other bank. I will continue to use them for what I have in the past and nothing else.....cash deposits to be transferred to USAA. So many better options out there. read more

I had the most incredible experience at the Fairfield Travis Credit Union. I had a car loan and a secure credit card for over a year with another Credit Union, other than Travis. When I applied with them for a regular nonsecure credit card, they said I need to clear my credit to their satisfaction in order to get approved for a non-secure credit card. The same requirement to get a rate reduce for my 8.99 % car loan. Out of necessity I had to get another vehicle. I went to a car dealer to inquire for a loan. The dealer sent an application out in order to see if any financial institution approve a second car loan for me. After a few denials, (including my old Credit Union) only Travis Credit Union came through with an approval, without asking anything from me to do regarding my credit. Evidently Travis CU has a much more flexible criteria than others to get approvals. I was extremely impressed with this. It motivated myself to go to a Travis CU branch and let them know how good I felt about this. Also, I ask them if they can reviewed my first car loan an get a better rate. They did, and approved me for a lower rate as well, and on top got me some cash to pay for a personal debt I had. Since I was there I asked them if they can look into getting me a unsecured credit card approval. They did, and I was also approved. I can not tell you how happy and stoke I feel about Travis CU. I highly recommend it to anyone looking to better themselves with any financial burden. read more

Should actually be "0" stars. Been with TCU for a long time and have never been happy with their service. Finally opened another account somewhere else. They have horrible customer service! They never pick up the phone if you have to deal with someone via phone because their online services are the worst! Love banking online - but they have no clue how to help you if there are any on line issues - and good luck getting a hold of somebody on the phone. Multiple occasions of being on hold for over an hour - ya, like they are that busy and if they are - hire some help! They are sales people - so customer service does not exist. read more

I HATE TRAVIS CREDIT UNION. I cannot express in words how frustrating my experience has been with them. My husband passed away almost a year ago and I could no longer afford to live in my home. I have a Home Equity Line of Credit with Travis and have been attempting a short sale. Travis has been UNREASONABLE AND UNCOOPERATIVE. They keep my real estate lady and me jumping through hoops, then when we do what they want, they throw up a new hoop to jump through. Horible, horible, horrible!!! The worst banking institution Ive ever dealt with. I had two cars financed through them. One loan is 5 of 6 years paid and the other is 3 of 6 years paid. They have yet to post my credit to any credit agencies such as equafax. I have called Travis over and over again to get this resolved with no resolve. I told them I would purposefully miss a payment just so I can get my credit posted. They threatened to repo my car if I did. I refinanced my cars at a lower rate with a real bank. I had been with Travis Credit Union since the early 1990s. Before that my parents had an account with them. I was happy with them until recently. Like many, I was victimized by the bad economy. I had a credit card, checking account, and savings account with Travis. During a rough financial time I used my credit cards more often and got my balances a little high. I worked on paying my balances down. One day out of the blue I received a letter saying they were closing my credit card account that I had for well over ten years. Never mind the fact that I made all my payments on time and was slowly getting my balance down. Customer service and the corporate office both told me there is nothing they can do about it. Less than a year later I found myself in another financial bind and was unable to make payments on my now nonexistant Travis Credit Card. Instead of showing any compassion or understanding they closed my checking account that I also had for over ten years. Customer service and corporate once again said there was nothing they could do about it. I immediately closed my savings account with them. I am very angry at the way I was treated by them. I really felt they kicked me when I was down. How they can treat a long time customer like me that way is beyond me. read more
