Today I tried to open a money market account with this branch and I can now understand why so many people are having negative experiences with them. I saw someone at the office front - a younger man with glasses who although seemingly polite in his words clearly didn't trust or believe me. I had received an advertisement in the mail with an introductory interest of 4.5%, he asked if I had this on me and I responded that I did not. Nothing on the advertisement directed me to keep it and bring it into the branch. He then queried me about what the ad card stated and I gave him the details that I remembered. He said not everyone gets one of these and you have to be 'invited' to receive one! He then stated he had to have the correct code on the flier, but was able to look it up online after making a call and also confirm the details that I had earlier described. I provided a personal check drawn on a local financial institution and he stated he would have to place a hold on it for 7 business days with a tiered release of $225.00 immediately, and additional amount two business days later and then the remaining balance 7 business days or 11 calendar days later. When I got home from this transaction, I realized how uncomfortable I felt with him and how they ran their 'ship' -- there was NO attempt to shorten the holds even though I've sent checks out of state that have cleared in less than 4 business days. So much for being 'invited'! I decided to close ALL of my accounts there. When I returned, I was told I couldn't close the money market account until the check was returned because it had already been submitted through ACH. I immediately placed a stop payment on the check. And I could not close my other accounts until the next day because they placed another hold on another (government)check. My other financial institution knows me, trusts me, and attempts to provide some level of customer service by analyzing what's in front of them. Goodbye, Travis- Southampton, your interest rates were enticing, but your customer services suck enough for me to never want to return again. DO NOT DO BUSINESS HERE. BE AWARE They will discriminate against you during the lending process for your race/religion and other identifying factors that violate the Equal Opportunity Credit Act. They literally had me sign a contract, open a card issued the line of credit issued and even had the card showing up in my account. Then the loan person that had an issue with me personally decided to suspend my card and funding which is now negatively affecting my credit situation because of it. They treated me like a criminal after an approval...I have a 706 score and it was an instant approval with no income docs required...Then everything changed when 1 person got involved well after I was approved...PLEASE SAVE YOURSELF THE TROUBLE!! Avoid this CU! Like to buy music from Apple or Google? Don't use TCU card. Buy more than 1 song at a time they'll put a hold on your card, not tell you, then you go to buy groceries or dinner for someone and bang , Card declined ( even though there's $5k in account and you've been buying music for years). I called the Benicia branch of Travis Credit Union on Thursday July 19, 2024 to check on a personal loan I had applied for and was approved 2 days previously, however the funds had not been deposited into my savings account even though I was told it would do so within 24 hrs. of the approval. Even though Razaan was not the customer services representative who I originally worked with when applying for the loan, she was very helpful in determining what happened and called the loan funding dept right away while I was on the phone with her and got everything straightened out within minutes. The money was in my account within 2 minutes of getting off the phone with Razaan. I was extremely happy how professional she was and also how she problem solved and gave outstanding customer service. I would give her a 10/10 if I could, but I guess 5 stars will have to do. read more

I have several accounts with Travis, including my mortgage but the Benicia branch has a horrible customer service person! The gentleman at the teller window is nice but the Asian guy at the desk needs a lesson in treating people with respect and courtesy! I came into the bank yesterday just to check the beneficiaries status on my accounts and there was no one in the bank! I went to the teller first and he was very nice, checked my account but then told me that I would have to follow up with the desk so I sat down because at that point someone had already come in and was talking to the person at the desk. Meanwhile several other people came in and the teller started helping them but when the person at the desk finished the Asian guy called on the person in line who came in AFTER I sat down!!! AND the lady even told him that I was next!! He still insisted on helping them anyway so I just left and this is not the first time I've had a problem with this person. I set up a meeting for my husband to sign papers with him last year and when my husband arrived to the appointment he told my husband that he was going on break!!! I AM P*SSED OFF AND DISAPPOINTED IN THIS BRANCH!!! If I could give negative stars, I would! This branch has no standards for customer service and accommodation on to service me especially on this long weekend, I was just shooed out the branch a half hour before closing because it seems that everyone cares about getting off work while the branch is still open for operation. I was sitting in my car trying trying to call customer service to file a complaint and I see your staff go to their cars and it hasn't even been 5 minutes since the branch closed. Very disappointing! I will be doing my business in the Vallejo branch more often. Not good! I always stop by Travis credit union in Benicia to use the ATM. Saturday I got some cash and wanted to break down some bills into 5 and 10's. I went inside and the front desk person asked what I needed? I told him I needed to break a 20 for a ten and two 5's. and his first question was are you a credit union member? I said yes I am. then he just looked at me and said ok but are you a Travis credit union member? I said no Patelco but I use your ATM all the time asking aren't credit unions linked? He looked at me rudely and said we can't help you unless you belong to Travis. I said I have cash I just want to break it down. Our experience with this branch of Travis Credit Union has been great so far--thanks primarily to the person who helped us set up our business accounts--Razan Alkurdi. I suspect the wide range of scoring in other reviews may be due to experiences with different staff. I made an appointment to open two business accounts with Travis. Razan called us before our appointment to help us get organized before our arrival. This really cut down on the amount of time we were required to be in their office. That was very helpful because my wife is Primary Care Provider and her schedule only permits her to go to the Credit Union on Saturday. Later, I needed a communication from Travis on their letterhead. Even though the standard turn around time is 3 - 5 business days, Razan had this for me in less than 48 hours. If you live in the Benicia/Vallejo area and you need a Credit Union for your business accounts, I highly recommend this branch of Travis Credit Union. If you are assigned Razan Alkurdi to help set up your accounts, I'm sure you are going to be leaving a 5-star review also. read more

I know what people are complaining about. Maybe it just wasn't for them. I see that the other banks around the area going get a three star themselves. Tough critics. I haven't ever had a problem with them. I been there since 2012. They've helped me though my husband and I in our situation that we went thought. In the passed three years. I'm not a member of TCU but I am of Golden 1 so I occasionally use the ATM machine since I can for free. I live next door to this branch so whenever i need quarters for laundry I find it convenient to go here for change. Stopped in today and the girl who was at the window seemed nervous when I asked her that I just wanted to break a $100 bill for quarters. Asked for $50 in quarters and the rest in cash. For whatever reason she was quickly typing on her computer and then asked me if I was a member. I said no, but used the ATM because I have Golden 1. Then some other lady comes out of nowhere, I'm assuming manager and says their branch is out of quarters. I've never heard of such a thing before and mind you I also have Bank of America. I just responded with I didn't feel like going to bank which is all the way in vallejo and left. As I was leaving I overheard the lady tell the girl helping me she was trying to make sense of what she was saying so this made me realize the chick had most likely emailed her when she typing on her computer. I don't know what their policy is for giving change to non members but this whole encounter was stupid and awkward AF. If she knew they had no quarters or didn't want to give me change then why not say it before hand instead of making me wait there for hella long. Made my way to Wells Fargo inside raleys and was helped in under a minute. Never coming back to this branch again! I had completely forgotten about this review, but a TROLL by the name of Sara took it upon herself to DM on here a week ago. Not sure who this character is, but seriously she needs to get a life. Update: continued technical problems with joint accounts for the member who isn't the main account holder, staff has recorded inaccurate address information (leading to further issues), and other technical issues. I've had several things done incorrectly since I've opened accounts at Travis. Staff are super nice, but seem to have a hard time not forgetting things. In sum, I wish there was another credit union option nearby, because it's great to not be paying fees to have accounts, but the inconvenience of semi-regular mistakes is really starting to outweigh the no-fee advantage. If you open an account here, make sure you double check that they are ordering checks for you and ask to double check your address and other basic information, because there's a good chance that something will be entered incorrectly into your account at some point. read more

This is a new branch. Since there are no reviews I wanted to encourage anyone to open an account here with TCU. Their rates are much lower than the big competitors. The branch is small but they can handle any services requested. Also has an ATM outside too. TO include, being a TCU member allows you to use any CO Op ATM machines like the ones in 7-11. read more

This credit union is like all the other non- credit union banks... like Wells Fargo and b of a. I was charged 180$ for something that wasn't my fault causing me to be overdrawn. I've been banking with them for many years and have never had a problem that wasn't resolved quickly. I only wish there were more associated credit unions where I could use my ATM card at without incurring charges or fees. Hate to do it but this bank has it coming. I opened my account in good faith. I brought in my hard earned money and within the first few weeks, they liquidated my account and gave it to my ex wife who lied in court to gain custody and then lied again to gain "daycare" fees when her parents watch the kids. Ok, lesson learned. The banks will back the state, even wrongfully. Fine. I'll play your game. I'm no longer using the bank as a place to hold money but as a check cashing place and occasional small deposits from my book sales. Today I go on to cash a check and they tell me they want to hold the check. It's written as cash. Cash! They tell me because it's a new account and I say "its over a year old!" I come back home and check their policies and it says 9 day holds for the first 30 days. It's almost been a year. This bank is clearly discriminatory. They make up policies on the spot if money goes out but sure have zero issues with it going in. I'm about to close my account here. Thus far, they've done nothing to gain my trust or keep my business. read more
