I'm the daughter of a mechanic and my dad was unable to service my car with him because he's in the…read morehospital. Because of that, I'm ABSOLUTELY weary of mechanics because I've been done dirty of ones who don't have the same integrity as my dad. Lots of unnecessary up-selling and repairs unnecessary for a rebuilt salvage title vehicle and TONS of scare tactics to make more money (very common with single women trying to get car repairs) That being said: my experience at Auto Emporium was a breath of fresh air after a ton of bad experiences. I had a general idea what was wrong with my car (difficulty starting/misfiring/stalling). They took detailed notes in what I could provide about the problem and instead of wasting time digging around, they reached back out to me for additional rounds of questions TO REALLY pinpoint what the root problem was. Too many mechanics are too stubborn to reach back out for questions of the owners which can help diagnose problems sooner - it's a huge time waster!! So having their staff with a running list of questions had my car fixed SAME DAY. That timeframe was absolutely insane to me. I love that they also took the time out to itemize EVERYTHING that came up on the inspection and while that did have a price tag, I now have a to-do list of the next repairs coming up so I can save up for them. It's relieving having answers for things that could be problems later. Additionally, since like-items were itemized I could pick and choose the repairs that absolutely needed to be done for this visit. One of my concerns was the hours of operation, but they have a great little lockbox system for car/key dropoffs. So don't let that deter you from using their services! All my in person/text/phone interactions were all great! My car is starting and running beautifully again after them flushing out my transmission system same day (which is a huge relief because I was trying to organize rides for 3am work shifts) That being said, if my dad is still out of commission for the other identified issues, I would totally come back and have them do the repairs.

I was looking for a reliable, honest and fairly priced repair shop that I could establish a long…read moreterm relationship with. I have 4 used cars that need basic maintenance and occasionally more serious repairs. After spending $7k in repairs on 3 different vehicles (in the last 60 days) I asked for a one time discount. The best they could offer me was $60 - less than 1% of the $7k I spent at Auto Emporium. Two of my vehicles still need about $2k in repairs, but I am not comfortable going back to Auto Emporium since it seems like they weren't interested in developing a long term relationship with me.

The whole process has been a disappointment. My vehicle had $1000 of repairs and sat in their shop…read morefor 21 days for a front bumper cover and one wheel replacement (which they use recycled parts by the way). I would never recommend them for any service again. They look to cut corners, place liability of their inability for repairs on sublet and their customers, are discourteous, and continually provide false updates on the repair status (very inconvenient when you are planning your day around when they will have the car ready, while also caring for two small children around their 'updates'). I would only recommend this shop for people who enjoy getting the run around, being belittled and repeatedly mislead, and needing a repair lifetime warranty for a place you wouldn't step back into again. 1/5 , would put 0, but it's not possible.

About a year later, a small rust spot appeared in the fender tire well. Even though I was working in Houston, TX at the time, Barney's went above and beyond to help me get the issue resolved at a local body shop near me. The communication throughout the entire process was outstanding -- they kept me informed every step of the way and made a potentially stressful situation completely hassle-free. I highly recommend Barney's Body Shop to anyone in need of quality auto body work backed by a team that truly stands behind their repairs. I will definitely be a returning customer

I have 2 teen drivers and somehow we keep ending up at body shops! That repair held up great. More recently, another fender bender and I was going through insurance and they recommended a different shop, but I didn't really agree or understand the other shop's guy, and I took it to Jim for a second opinion. Jim's estimate came in slightly lower but more importantly I felt like he was able to explain to me the different options clearly about either quitting the claim so it didn't get totaled or doing the salvage title or just getting the money and giving up the car. The car ended up getting totaled by insurance and we had Jim fix it to do a salvage retitle. Should have gone to Jim in the first place!

They told me the diagnosis would cost $110.00, it would take an hour or so to check the suspension and the charge would be credited towards repairs that would be scheduled at a later date. They tried to explain that they had a technician leave a week before they made my appointment. No phone call before I got there to advise me of their problems. It's apparent that customer service is not one of their top priorities. I'm going to steer clear of this place and definitely would not recommend them to anyone!
