I then realized that my battery was about 5 years old and it was a distinct likelihood that it could be going bad. Afraid that my next start would have to be a jump, I pulled over (engine running of course) and called three "battery shops" asking each a simple question: "Can you replace my battery TODAY?" Of the three, Interstate was the only one who said "Yes. Period." One of the other two had nerve to say, "Well, it depends on where the battery is located!" (). Went to Interstate, they tested it and confirmed it was about to bite the dust! Fifteen minutes later, I was driving off Interstate's lot with a brand new battery and a ton of new cold cranking amps! Interstate will be first, last and only battery stop going forward.

The staff at O'Reilly on Hwy 51 Jackson/Ridgeland are a great bunch! This is my preferred store,…read moreand I've been there for consult on several things. They are always knowledgeable, friendly, and very helpful. And if they don't know, they'll say so and try to help you find answers. We've had an overcast month here, and my solar setup in the van failed. I took 4 deep cycle batteries to O'Reilly to have them tested. They charged & tested every one of them for me for free. Took quite a while to get a charge in them after a month of faltering sun on the roof panels. All four were toast as I sadly suspected. All they could really do was offer me something for the core on them. While there, we discussed the needs of my system and considered a marine deep cycle. I haven't decided what to do yet. But I have store credit and they said come back whenever I'm ready and they will be glad to help me get what I need for it. Very professional crew but not stuffy. Highly recommend this store.
