The next time I came back, I ordered a pecan spinach salad with feta rather than blue cheese. One of the tastiest salads I've ever had! The 1/2 slide of strawberry shortcake was on the sweet side, but quite scrumptious.

Good local restaurant with the best cake! We had dinner on Saturday night which is also cake night, but we were all so full we didn't end up getting any. Over the years they've changed cake night to just be half off (used to be free) if your entree is over a certain amount. I had the chicken kabob that comes with mixed veggies and her rice. Chicken was good. Veggies and rice were not super flavorful, but ok when I mixed the chicken in. Our server was very nice and service was fast.

The grill has a darker feel and doesn't necessarily look upscale. That's why no one would ever know from appearance that Nantucket bakes incredible cakes! I did not dine in on my visit, but got a cake slice to go. I have on many occasions stopped by Nantucket just to get dessert or buy a cake slice as a gift. They have never disappointed. The cashiers provide standard service when you just do a quick purchase and the restaurant is designed so you can go buy dessert and leave without disrupting the dining service or waiting too long. Overall, love visiting Nantucket to get dessert just as a end to a good evening out. The mint cake slice was delicious and not too sweet but so delicately balanced in flavor.

Let me tell you. You can never go wrong with a piece of cake from Nantucket Grill. Oh my goodness, the cake is so dang on good...ALL OF THEM! Don't get me wrong, I have eaten various dishes from this restaurant but the cake has me in a choke hold. I always stop in and just grab a piece of cake and be on my way lol. So moist, so many layers, so good. My go-to cakes are the strawberry shortcake, the tirimisu and the chocolate peanut butter. Stop playing and go get some!

So I came to pick up an order for just some slices of cake and now I understand why everyone loves their bakery. I'm not originally from this area so I love trying a new local restaurant. The cake was delicious and so moist. I didn't eat inside the restaurant so I have to come back another day. The lemon cake, triple chocolate cake, cookie butter cake, and strawberry shortcake were absolutely amazing and I'll be back.

    Fresh Maine Lobster Roll

Nantucket Grill in Durham serves up coastal New England charm in a relaxed, family-friendly atmosphere. From the moment you walk in, the vibe feels homey. The space is casual but thoughtfully decorated with nautical accents, light wood tones, and vintage photographs of lighthouses and sailboats that lean into the Cape Cod aesthetic without being too over-the-top. It's the kind of spot where locals gather for dependable seafood and generous portions, and service reflects that spirit, warm, attentive, and genuinely kind. We stopped in for dinner and left with mixed feelings. The food overall was solid, but many of the dishes could have used a bit more seasoning to bring out their full potential. We started with the Creamy Lobster Bisque, which had a nice, rich base with good flavor. The texture was velvety and comforting, but it was noticeably light on actual lobster meat. Still, for what it was, it made for a satisfying warm-up to the meal. Next came the Fresh Maine Lobster Roll, lobster chunks mixed with mayo and diced celery, served on a grilled New England-style roll. The bun had a good toast on it, and the lobster was fresh, but the flavor was very mellow. It could have used a little brightness or even a dash of lemon to lift it. Classic, but a little too safe. The Baked Stuffed Shrimp came out next, served over spinach risotto with a side of mixed vegetables. The jumbo shrimp were well-cooked, and the crab stuffing had nice texture. The risotto, however, leaned too soft for my taste and missed the slight bite of being cooked al dente. That said, the vegetable medley was a surprising highlight, vibrant, crisp, and perfectly cooked with just the right amount of seasoning. We finished with the Chocolate Bliss Cake, and it lived up to the name. Alternating layers of chocolate and vanilla cake, whipped cream frosting, and a drizzle of chocolate syrup. This dessert was moist, rich, and had the perfect balance of sweetness and texture. Easily our favorite dish of the night. Nantucket Grill is a solid choice when you're craving classic seafood in a cozy, coastal-inspired setting. While some dishes could use a flavor boost, the service and dessert made the visit worthwhile. It's the kind of place you go for comfort food and casual conversation, not necessarily for bold flavors.

The food is always so fresh and tasty. Our waitress was so sweet and helpful. We sat outside. It was a beautiful day to eat outside

Stuffed Tilapia broccoli and mashed potatoes.

Stuffed tilapia dish was amazing. The lobster cream sauce topped perfectly. The mashed potatoes were creamy and flavorful and the broccoli roasted perfectly. I also had the crab dip but it was not the best but it is the first time I've had crab dip so maybe it's just me. It tasted like tuna blended down so wasn't impressive.

Rating based on: consistency, cleanliness, quality, taste, and presentation FAM , LET ME PUT Y'ALL ONTO THIS SPOT I STUMBLED UPON WHILE CRUISING FOR A DRINK - TYPE HUNGRY VIBES, AND MY SIS STRAIGHT UP BASED RECOMMENDED IT! , wasn't expecting much from this Irish pub American flavor joint FYI it's not a Irish pub!!! but it's giving dope hardy real food energy without all that cheugy processed junk gaslighting your taste buds with 150k ingredients! If you're simping over Burger King or some mid fast food, just ratio that thought - kick in a few extra bucks here and you're getting fire quality with portions bigger than your gains after leg day! The service? Straight impeccable, treating you like kings and queens - vibe check passed HARD! Now let it cook on the menu: That GRILLED CHICKEN SANDWICH with FRENCH FRIES extra fried hard? Came out crispy, hot, and fast AF - 10x better and fresher than Chick-fil-A, no glazing! The BURGER? Nice and fat, juicy without being too much, with onions and lettuce so fresh you'd think they chopped 'em right there! This place stays packed like peanuts at the ball game, keeping everything bussin' and fresh - I've hit it up 10+ times, and the Chapel Hill location is rad with outdoor seating for that view while you chow down! The SALAD? On point and ate harder than any fast food slop! But here's the kicker, kings - bring your ride-or-die shorty for the specialty CAKE! We're talking 6-7-10 layer deliciousness that countries fought wars over (do your history, bro). I'm not even a sweet tooth simp, hate processed sugar, but this uses real sugar and it's not too sweet - portion sizes huge and worth every penny! Don't eat seafood so can't speak on that, but the SOUPS are fire and giving home-cooked meal realness at decent prices! Menu's vast with cake flavors and burgers galore, but it stays consistent without changing - that's based, cause consistency breeds excellence, FR FR! If you're sleeping on this for that processed cringe, you're taking an L + ratio - pull up fast, feast like a boss, and thank me later! This spot is straight fire! 6 7

I'm always in Durham but never been to this jewel. First time here but not my last. The food was amazing. The ambiance was cute. The service by Manuel was awesome. Wanted something good with a variety and this was the place. Everything was good. And the bakery. They have grey bakes cakes and cupcakes and pies. They go fast so I suggest getting them before dinner like I did. lol....

I think there's a sports ball thing going on somewhere, too. One person ahead of me and I gave the nice lady my order. As I've mentioned before, there is a nice adult contemporary soundtrack that is neither background or overpowering. It just hits, and you can chat over it if you want. Or sing along. After a nice bike ride, I stopped in and ordered their three shrimp tacos. I've had them before, but they seemed even more amazing than past visits. Were the shrimp larger? Were there more of them? (4 per taco seems about right!) It was such a lot of food (added to the hazy IPA) that I had to take the last one to go. It may last the night. Or it may be breakfast. There is purple furniture throughout with candles lit at each table, and soft seats near the courtyard entrance. We had an obscure and tasteful Black Sabbath song playing, which we learned was playing on vinyl from the record player on the back wall. The mixologist, Doug, who's just all sorts of awesome, later physically swapped out the record for a Beach Boys LP that had literally zero Beach Boys songs that I'd ever heard. It was rad. The cocktails were phenomenal, aromatic, and balanced. The menu has them split out into "Originals" (cocktails they invented), "Covers" (cocktails, that other famous bartenders invented), and "Remixes" (Little Gem's spin on existing cocktails). The music theme was on point. We also ordered some marinated feta and white bean dip that came from Beau's Catering (in the same courtyard), where Paul Finn (the owner of Little Gem) is the Beverage Director. I highly recommend the dip, it blew our minds. Do yourself a favor and go check out Little Gem.
