Being a retail park location, right next to the motorway, this might be the easier location to visit if you're not shopping at The Trafford Centre, or skiing at The Chill Factor, you can pretty much park right outside and walk right in. I have passed this location before and noticed it to be closed during the opening times, perhaps this could be due to ongoing issues and having so many locations in such a small area, but they're generally open until 10 PM daily. I like the interior of this location too, with the lighting and back wall, it feels so futuristic, almost like an alien spaceship. The seats also have padding on the back, making them more comfortable, and there are several booths here. I called in on my way home and decided to forego my regular Nando's order, and just order a 1/4 Chicken to eat when I get home. The staff were friendly and the manager who processed my order gave me the choice between a breast or leg piece - again simple but as I much prefer the breast to the leg, this made a huge difference to me. The chicken was good, for a 1/4 chicken, it had so much meat on it, it was good quality and I liked the taste of the hot sauce, it gave it a bit more of a kick. When I was collecting my food, the Nandoca still offered me a selection of napkins and sauces, despite it being such a small order so they didn't skimp on the sauces knowing I'd ordered just a little bit of food. I do find the prices a little high at Nando's, for the kind of place that it is, and the prices keep going up every couple of months too. I also dislike the fact they no longer offer Mayonnaise, replacing it with a vegan alternative or a paid Peri-naise (Mayonnaise + Peri-Peri Sauce) 4* - A very good Nando's in terms of the quality of food and service, which I will return to in the near future.

Craving Chinese food I did a cursory Google of what's available in Urmston. I feel like I've found…read morea wee golden nugget here as it ticks several of our boxes: Warm welcome - the mum of the family greeting us so warmly & giving advice on the menu (I would seriously eat the shredded chicken with sweet n sour chilli sauce any day of the week). She was lovely with everyone who came in - an older couple arrived after us who must be regulars as she gave them a quick cuddle, which I just find totally charming. Easy Cantonese menu - all the familiar suspects are here: deep fried starters, noodles, Chinese curry etc. Exactly what I was craving! Comfy - the decor brought be back to the Cantonese restaurant my family frequented back home (Scotland) in the 90s. I mean this in a seriously complementary way. I have a genuine love of places that don't try to over decorate / be modern / shabby chic or whatever. Expect dark cherry red carved chairs, paper table cloth, fish tank & ornaments. The perfect 90's throw back in fact, please don't change!! We plumped for the sharing dim sum starter - wontons, seaweed, ribs, pork spring rolls, curried samosas and the BEST prawn toast I have ever had in my life. I can hear people tutting at me "prawn toast isn't real Chinese food". Well, try this & I doubt you will moan. The minced prawn was piled so high, it was like a doorstop wedge & it did not have that greasy, oily aftertaste which I've had in the past from other establishments - wish I had taken a better picture so you can get a better understanding of how amazing it was! We then went for the shredded chicken (as per my new mums recommendation) & the beef curry with plain rice. The curry sauce was as you would expect, but with a richer & darker (slight cinnamon taste) which I loved. It reminded me of Japan Deli's (imo epic) Katsu curry sauce in Withington - in another review I will go into that in finer detail. Have to give The Empire the full 5 stars, when we drove off we both agreed we would be back soon. It is our new favourite (& I would never have imagined myself cheating on Happy Seasons in China Town!) We are due a baby soon & you could just tell it's the type of place that would still welcome us warmly even with a pram (& I did spot the baby changing facilities in the immaculately clean ladies bathroom). A note: We dined really early at 5:30 on a Saturday night, so just walked straight in - we did get the impression that the rest of the tables were booked however for the night. So may be best to call ahead...this could become your new favourite (out of town) Cantonese option.

Hello, I have just had one of the worst experiences of my…read morelife. Me and my besties were going to Nando's for a nice bestie meetup when numerous extremely horrible incidents occurred that have scarred me and my two gorgeous icons for ever. Firstly, food (specifically a chip) was launched at my best friends face causing havoc and upset and the staff did nothing about it and she was left in tears (so extremely sad) and then my other gorgeous bestie's food came incomplete. The lettuce was not in her chicken wrap! We had asked the waitress and she snatched her plate out of my besties hands making her upset as a result and didn't say anything and came back with the plate slammed it on the table and walked off. The service was so awful, the atmosphere was so rude and we all left the restaurant upset and frustrated. It was so upsetting. Please let this not happen again.

This place seems to be getting a bad rap, so I'm gonna stick up for it for various reasons…read more Yes it's a franchise and no I don't like them as a general rule. But, let's be serious for a moment. Just like you don't goto a Fast & Furious movie for intricate/complex movie narrative/plot lines but for pure unadulterated adrenaline rush. You don't goto Nandos for a Mitchellin star restaurent experience! There isn't supposed to BE any customer service! It's a very simple procedure: get table, order food, eat food, Go! Anyone expecting to be treated like royalty for paying £15 for an entire grilled chicken with two sides and two free refill drinks is just deluded! Nandos is a glorified sit in takeaway that do grilled chicken! (That's not meant to be a put down) The lack of pretence and the simplicity of the concept is the reason for its unprecedented success! It's the reason why the biggest waiting line in the Orient is almost always here. People know EXACTLY what they're getting and it's great value for money. And you know what? It tastes pretty damn good! It's a much better option than the vomit inducing Maccy D's/Burger Kings/KFCs of this world that serve plastic cancer and time ticking (heart disease) health bombs! Nandos are EVERYWHERE and as a raging foodie who loves variety, there's plenty of room for Nandos in my heart and bellydrum! So I'll keep on playing the Nandos beat! PS the only varying feature of Nandos ofcourse is the decor which admittedly (whilst being of a similar theme in each restaurent) can vary. This one is fairly simplistic. The best one I've chicken meal plattered in (Ive sampled a fair few of them in the UK ;) has to be the Wakefield branch (Yorkshire) Although once upon A time on a Sunday drive/adventure in the middle of nowhere in Wales I remember discovering one. It was a miraculous foodie oasis! In short, if you don't like Nandos, good for you, each to their own. Difference of opinion is good in all walks of life, and that's fine! I can't stand Keira Knightly for example. And on that unrelated note... Over aNandout!

Ladies and gents, I think we have a half-decent Chinese right here in Sale *short happy dance*…read more At a loss what to have on Saturday night it was a case of perusing through the menus everyone gets thrust through their letterboxes and I saw Lucky Wok's. Checked Yelp and saw it'd been a few years since the last review, so looked at Just Eat and saw they had a lot of positive feedback so gave them a whirl. The order was taken with minimal fuss and I was told it'd be a 30-45 minute wait which is pretty standard. It arrived just over half an hour later and it was all still piping hot. The Seaweed Combination Starter (BBQ rib, sesame prawn toast, spring roll, samosa, crispy won ton, seaweed and sweet & soup dip) was well presented and all tasted delicious - the only comment was that the samosa was a bit of a strange inclusion. For the main it was Chicken Szechuan with egg fried rice, which had plenty of chicken and the sauce was just the right level of spiciness for me (i.e. not very). The portion size is generous so there's another meal of leftovers now in the fridge. There are also a few Thai dishes on the menu which I'll try next time. Tip: they only accept cash payments. Tip: they're closed on Tuesdays but otherwise open 16:30 to 23:00 Wednesdays to Mondays.

Anyone driving through Sale can't fail to have noticed the lucky wok... Right on the main road through Sale, just behind Sainsburys, it is certainly prominent. Its location also must mean that there is little in the way of passing trade (beyond the traffic on the dual carriageway outside!), and certainly nowhere convenient to stop in a car. As such, the delivery service offered is integral in bringing the bags of egg fried rice, stir fried mixed veg with cashews, spring rolls and prawn crackers along with a few other standard dishes fresh and hot to my door. Actually, the food was average, but let's face it, most takeaways are aren't they? It was freshly cooked though, still hot when it arrived, and came with a handful of fortune cookies chucked in the box too. Can't say fairer than that.
