I love coming to Nando's for their delicious chicken and sides. We always get the full platter since it's a lot of food for two people; you get chicken and two large sides. We had to go with the peri chips (fries) and the mash potatoes since they're always cooked to perfection. They're seasoned well and always come out very flaky. The chicken is pretty good as well since you have an assortment of sauces to choose from; we like the one with herbs, garlic, and lemon. The service was spectacular when we went recently; the manager kept coming over to us if we needed everything and asked us how everything was. The ambiance is very clean and beautiful since you're in the Roosevelt collection center, and you can see all the different stores and the nice view of the city. read more

Excellent food!! Fresh and healthy. Really tasty chicken and fried halloumi. Nice variety of beverages: sodas, iced tea, sangria and more. I've eaten here a few times and I'm always impressed. DELICIOUS! I first tried Nando's in the UK, and it was just ok. When I tried it in Singapore, I was blown away. And now trying it in Chicago, I was equally impressed by the flavors and juiciness of the chicken. Nando's is probably my favorite chain restaurant and they need to expand to more US cities! I always get the 1/2 chicken because I love the flavors that chicken skin holds. The breast was not dry at all, so you can feel safe ordering this if you're trying to cut calories. Peri peri fries were delicious as well, but I'm really just here for the chicken. It was busy on a Saturday night, and the waitress let us know that it would be an estimated 45 minute wait for our food, but food actually came out in about 20 minutes. read more

This location has a really nice dining area, some tables were a bit sticky but staff were friendly and checked in from time to time to take plate away. Half chicken with 2 sides is shareable! The mashed potatoes and the rice are both really good sides. Most of their sauces are vinegar-taste heavy, but I personally love that. The older gentleman who greeted and seated us was extremely kind and professional, which we really appreciated. However, while we were eating, a younger employee (wearing their hat backwards), who appeared to be bussing tables was playing his own music out loud from his phone. His pants were sagging to the point where his underwear was fully visible. What made this more uncomfortable was seeing him walk behind the counter and into the kitchen area where food was being prepared. As customers actively eating, this was unpleasant and honestly felt unsanitary. This is a family-friendly restaurant, and you expect employees especially those going near food prep areas to be dressed appropriately. Unfortunately, this behavior took away from the experience and made us feel uneasy while dining. I went to Nando's in South Loop for lunch recently and as I was enjoying the food two kids walked in, they were completely calm and respectful, just talking to their other friends who were in there. And this lady come from the back and immediately starts yelling at them about how she recognized them and even threatened to call the cops on two high school students. They left calmly as well while this women basically chased them out and the lady went up to the kids that they were talking to saying that if they were "acquainted" with them they would be banned to. Now obviously I don't know what these kids could have done to get banned apparently but the fact they stayed as calm as they did while this women berated them, tells me more about her over those kids. The way this women treated these kids as criminals disgusted me I had to make a review, it completely ruined my appetite. read more

I think Nandos south loop is the best of all Nandos in the area. It's huge with lots of seating, ample lighting and the statement Nandos decor. The staff is very friendly too. They are happy to offer suggestions. This Nandos has a bunch of alcoholic drinks on the menu too. Apart from the chicken, I am a big fan of the Mac and cheese and the pastel de natas. Stopped by here for lunch before a downtown doctor's appointment. The restaurant is founded on a very interesting African culture. Apparently this is a South African chain. PERi-PERi is the unique sauce from Mozambique that they use. It is very, very HOT; but rich in vitamins A, B and C. When tasting the sauce alone, it definitely clears you sinuses; but it is more tolerable when eating it on food, especially the chicken. I had the quarter chicken with corn on the cob. The chicken is flame cooked and is delicious. I had the mango and lime sauce. The dining area is decorated with an African motif with music to set the mood. Service was fast for the main meals, but not for dessert. We ended up having to order on-line. The wait was at least 20 minutes. I've been here a few times now, and the workers have always been so friendly. Visited on a Monday at noon with some friends and it was pretty empty. I decided to get the 1/4 chicken breast (mango & lime) with 2 sides - macho peas and Portuguese rice. I will probably pass on the peas next time - not a fan of the mint flavor with it. The rice was good though. The chicken, per usual, is very juicy and tasty. I dipped it in the medium sauce as well for extra flavor. I also had a bite of a friend's garlic bread and it was delicious so I'll probably opt for that instead of the healthy peas. :) I love the interior of this place too - very open. read more

The flavor was decent (as always with Nando's), but the portion size was disappointing, especially for the price. They really need to update the photo on their menu -- it's quite misleading and sets up false expectations. If you're craving proper, meaty wings, you might want to look elsewhere. My sister and I love Nando's! From the immaculate interior design, to the juiciest chicken thighs, we eat here every so often. My go-to order is the two 1/4 grilled chicken legs with fries and garlic bread as sides. I get the chicken in the hot marinade and then drench it with the lemon herb sauce. It is the BEST sauce! Must try! All the different sauces are located at the sauce bar that they have and you can go grab them yourselves. The fries are always crunchy on the outside and fluffy on the inside and the garlic bread is so pillowy soft with a light crunchy crust. Their mash potatoes are also worth mentioning; buttery goodness. If you like grilled chicken, definitely give Nando's a try! read more

I was in Chicago to go to a concert and this was a perfect spot for delicious but quick food... they were slightly busy but I loved the option to just seat ourselves and order from the table by scanning a QR code. I like the system, I feel like more restaurants should do this. It's a lot quicker and efficient unless you have questions for a server. Nando's is SO good. Coming from CA, I am glad I discovered this wonderful chain of restaurants known as Nando's Peri Peri. Whenever my girlfriend and I eat Nando's, we share the Full Chicken Platter with Portuguese Rice and Macho Peas for the sides. The rice and peas are so good that we haven't tried any of the other sides. The chicken is marinated over 24 hours then flame-grilled. There are additional sauce dispensers for indoor dining and sauce bottles for purchase to go. I recommend slathering extra sauce on the breast pieces for the optimal eating experience. The sauce is very flavorful and the spice is mild but builds up over time. The portions are large enough to have leftovers for the next day. Nando's Peri Peri is an international chain which started in Johannesburg, South Africa. The base of their sauce utilizes Peri Peri, or African Bird's Eye Chili. These are similar to Thai chilies, which are also called Birds' eye chilies. If Nando's is based in South Africa, why do they serve Portuguese rice, you may ask? This one is in a great location at the Roosevelt collection, right outside the Icon movie theater. Perfect place to grab dinner after your movie :) We had the full chicken (cooked in the hot sauce) which came with 2 large sides. Perfect for a meal for two hungry people, with some leftovers. I always order the Portuguese rice and the macho peas--both are packed with flavor and spice! I love that the restaurant has big bottles lined up of all their different spices so you can bring it to your table and pourrrrrrr to your hearts content. Their sauces are BOMB. One star just doesn't cut it for the disappointment that was my recent Nando's experience. The famed peri-peri chicken was overshadowed by truly terrible customer service. Forget the vibrant flavors; I spent more time chasing down my order than enjoying it. Repeatedly reminding staff about my meal felt like a chore, not a pleasant dining experience. To add insult to injury, the chicken bowl itself was a shadow of its former self - a drastically reduced portion size left me feeling both hungry and ripped off. We also tried the white cheddar Mac n cheese, Brussels sprouts topped with ranch and plate of fries. The service is is superb! The manager. Norma and Mike, can't remember his tile stopped by our table to make sure we were enjoying our food. We were told to take a survey for a chance to win free food. Mike had on a tee shirt that read, flipping the bird. I saw another cool tee shirt there that read, I bring a lot to the table. As a single woman I need that shirt but Norma said, "they are not for sale." The place was a little dirty, and busy when I got there but I saw it getting cleaned up while I dined in. The bathroom also needed some cleaning, not sure if they cleaned it while I was there, I only went to the bathroom once. The food was great, seasoned well and was delivered to the table. It was hot and photographed well with a lot of bright healthy colors displayed. I ordered the chicken bowl and Mac and cheese. Oh yeah, my girlfriend insisted that we order the garlic bread and we did. It was so good, I ate it all up and completely forgot to take a picture. I've been before, but this review is for my latest visit. Everyone was so friendly and my food took 10-15 minutes, but came up fresh which I'm happy to wait for. I tried the peach bowl which was a new one for me and was pleasantly surprised how much I liked it! I also got a bottle of coconut lemon sauce to go. The next day I used the sauce to marinate my pork chop and I reheated some of the rice from the bowl and let me just say - amazing! We ate at the location. I would find a reason to visit Roosevelt Collection to have a meal here. Sunday afternoon, there was a steady stream of customers. Maybe a good deal of business is delivery and that's dragged down ratings? THE COLE SLAW! I like Cole slaw and order it as a semi healthy side. I have never had a tastier slaw. Just enough moisture. Nando's at Delano Court was a pleasant dining experience. We ordered the Thigh and Mighty sandwich with fries. We paid $1.00 extra for the ranch sauce which was only filled half way full. I thought it was not enough sauce given how a had already used the entire plastic cup before I finished my bowl of fries and sandwich. The parking is a breeze. You can park free in the underground parking lot as long as dining at Nando's is under 2 hours with the parking ticket validated on your way out. read more
