The is is the location in Hyde Park right on/ just off U Chicago campus .really wanted to compliment the staff their particularly. I admit I usually only do carryout when I come here, even though I can walk here and home in 10 or so minutes. They even have outdoor seating, but I'd stay indoors if I dined here. (I love Hyde Park but 53rd street is not the most appetizing place to see). But the food is consistent. My last trip (sorry I have no pictures of that) was the Peri Peri crunch salad. It was good, I was able to grab some Lemon/Herb sauce from the bottles on the counter and put it in a small to-go cup. There were plenty of vegetables, chicken, and cheese to fill me up. The servers were casual but professional, and I waited a decent amount of time for the food. For dessert I got a 'Naughty Nata', the small, custard pie bite. (not the best way to describe it but you HAVE to try one to decide what it is!) I admit it's off-putting to get this for $3. It's a Portuguese food, and when I was in Portugal I could get one for LESS than a Euro dollar, an not as if it's imported. But it's a nice little indulgence that doesn't make one feel too guilty. read more

My wife, toddler, and myself stopped by after the Museum of Science and Industry. We were hungry and were going for anything our toddler would eat (chicken). Man were we blown away. The service was friendly upon arriving. The real story here is the food. Every single thing we ordered was flavorful, fresh, and fast. I've never had chicken so tender and juicy than at Nando's. I came on a Friday evening and it was not busy at all. We seated ourselves and ordered from the table using the QR code on the table. Got the full platter for 2 people to share including lemon & pepper chicken, mashed potatoes, and fries. I highly recommend the lemon & pepper and the mashed potatoes. They have a sink to wash your hands near the self-serve soda fountain as well as sauce cups and self-serve sauce bottles. Great service, great food, and clean facilities! read more

This is thee most beautiful spot! I've walked past here many times and didn't realize how nice it is inside! Omg! They have this honey lavender lemonade that made me want to slap the Shhhht outta somebody's mama!! It was sooo good! I had the rainbow bowl I just hate it I haven't stumbled in here sooner. I wanted to enjoy my Nando's meal... but I ended up pulling out a measuring cup like I was on My 600-lb Life just to prove a point. I placed an order at the Hyde Park location on 7/14 (Order #25844) -- two scoops of mashed potatoes, corn on the cob, chicken, and a 16 oz pineapple lemonade. The food tasted fine, but the portions? Wildly disappointing. Let's start with the mashed potatoes: I ordered a large and got what looked like one small scoop. Maybe a toddler scoop if we're being generous. Definitely not two. Then came the real kicker -- the lemonade. I had a gut feeling it wasn't 16 oz, so I poured it into a Pyrex measuring cup. 12 oz. Exactly. So unless science has changed, I just got shorted 4 oz and still paid full price. I called the restaurant and spoke to someone who identified herself as Lexi (the evening manager on 7/14) She insisted that's the only size cup they use. Which means, what? Nando's knows they're only giving out 12 oz but charging for 16? Make that make sense. I'm not usually one to write reviews, but this felt like blatant customer disrespect. I've supported Nando's through the pandemic and beyond, but it's hard to keep doing that when you're being shorted and dismissed when you speak up. Nando's -- your food is solid, but your portions and your customer service need serious attention. Until then, I'll be spending my money elsewhere. This restaurant has such cool theming!! You either order at the counter or with a QR code at your seat, and a server will bring you your food. I ordered the Peri Q Chicken and Mac Plate, which came with a grilled chicken leg, garlic bread, coleslaw, and mac and cheese. The chicken leg was the juiciest, most tender and incredibly flavorful chicken I've ever had in my entire life!! I was BLOWN AWAY!! The sides were good - pretty standard. The Mac and cheese was a bit dry. Definitely will try to get more chicken next time! read more

A lot of calories for a salad. I ordered 1/4 chicken leg meal with 2 sides, coleslaw and Brussel sprouts. My goal was to keep it low cal & as low carb as possible. Love nandos food in general but this location consistently messes up our orders. Avoid this location.

We ordered through the Uber Eats App. Nothing was good. We ordered a boneless chicken breast and we got some kind of dark meat. We also ordered quarter white which had some translucent skin on it that made it look unappetizing. It looked gross and was difficult to eat. When we tried to get a refund through the app for the incorrect item, we were informed that a refund was not authorized. We called the store and they told us go through Uber Eats. That location just lost three customers. We are never going back. Terrible food and poor customer service soon equals no customers. read more

Nice quick meal. We were trying to go to a restaurant down the street but it was packed and we had no reservations. We happened upon this place. My son remembered hearing about before and wanting to try it, so we did. I had the chicken and halloumi cheese salad that had corn and marinated tomatoes, it was quite enjoyable. My son and mother enjoyed peri-peri wings with dipping sauce and fries with ranch. A bit expensive for quick food but I guess that's how things are these days. read more

Mandi's is pretty basic food. My main issue is that they deliver with no utensils, no napkins, bent straws. It's very careless and rushed given the amount of time delivery takes. Additionally if they are out of an item they do not contact you or cancel it. They just substitute it with whatever they want you to have. Poor customer service skills, poor packaging, basic food. I am a Nando's girl, i took my bf for the first time and he loved it. The chicken is always grilled to perfection, The rice is flavorful and has a tint of spicy. I choose lemon herb and medium. Those are my two favorite flavors . The mashed potatoes are okay, definitely go for the fries. I love that they have a wide selection of sauces to choose from. The perfect entree. Chicken Caesar Wrap The wrap was solid! Really enjoyed it! Portuguese Rice The rice was subpar to me. Maybe I'm just not a fan of Portuguese rice? It's my first time coming to this place. Right away we were greeted at the door and given instructions on how to order. You can scan a sign with your phone and order online or you can order at the counter. I asked for the marinated tomato, halloumi and chicken salad with a side of garlic bread and a pineapple lemonade. Everything was fresh and delicious, the only thing I did not love was the halloumi, I had never tried it before. It looks delicious but I think it takes an acquired taste which I don't yet have. I played it on the safe side this time but plan on coming back and trying a lot more stuff, everything looks delicious. This place needs to go to El Pollo Loco and learn how to grill chicken. I dined here once expecting to get hot flavorful grilled chicken. Instead I got boiled/seasoned chicken that was finished on the grill to have the appearance of grilled chicken. Subsequently chicken was not hot and the meat near the bone was probably barely passing safety standards for done-ness. Won't be back. Won't recommend. Fries were good though. Service was nice. It is rare that I find an establishment with as pleasant a first-time experience as Nando's Peri-Peri in Hyde Park. From the friendly, warm greeting from the young lady at the door to the wonderful interaction with Tangie behind the register, it was truly enjoyable. She was patient with me and answered my [many] questions about the menu and dishes, and was always ready with great recommendations (especially since I ended up ordering for my my entire family). While waiting for my order, I also interacted with, and was serenaded by, Naja (who has a beautiful voice) with her composition of the Nando's "theme song." So fun! It's about 1:45pm on Sunday afternoon, and I just left the restaurant, already looking forward to the next time I can come, sit down, and receive the full experience of dining in. I have become a huge fan of Nando's! They have good food for everyone and that's what sets them apart. They are a chicken joint but vegetarians/vegans or pescatarians won't feel left out. When I go here I feel like I have a choice vs other places I can only get sides or a salad. They have tasty food and great customer service. This location in particular has the amazing food I was looking for just like the Oak Brook location. The restaurant is spacious and so much great art to look at during your visit. The bathrooms are clean and they even have a place where you can wash your hands near your table if you don't want to go to the bathroom. I highly suggest giving this place a try and if you have a very strict 'diet' like me, try out the feta grain wrap, I can't get enough of it! Parking: Street parking is available for $2 and hour. Maximum time given is 2 hrs but you can add more time later if you need to. read more

I went to this place all the time when I was in Cardiff of Wales. It was cheap and really good. Same for my time in Oxford and London. The locals would say "Let's go for a cheeky lil Nando's." I still don't know what that means to this day. Here in Hyde Park, I waited at the 'Please Wait to Be Seated' sign for several minutes before one of the four or five employees I saw talking to each other, approached. I don't think the heat was on in here. I saw others besides me who kept their jackets on. I grew up hood adjacent, so I know what it feels like when you're heating the house with the oven. Waited several more minutes in line to order as the incoming phone calls took precedent over us waiting customers. Then it was about another twenty minutes before my food was brought to the table. The mushroom and halloumi wrap was smaller than expected and both the mashed potatoes and rice tasted microwaved. You know, there's a funny taste a scalding temperature about food that's been nuked on high. This experience was nothing to write to the blokes across the pond about. read more

Of course during these COVID 19 Fall days I am Just door dashing it! My children's lunch was delivered within 45 mins. This is my neighborhood Nando's and it's off the hook! I would have given them five stars but the chicken was a tad under and I had to put it in the oven for about 10 mins. We use to come to Nando's a lot when it first opened. We really loved it. The food was fresh and the vibe was pretty cool. Once Covid hit it went downhill. The food is old and has been sitting. Food also tends to be lukewarm or cold. Wait staff is friendly and attentive. ambience seems pretty quiet and has nice decor. we haven't been back in a while because of the food issues.
