The chicken is SO delicious and is always incredibly high quality. They have about 15 sauces you can choose from to douse your chicken in: mild, spicy, super spicy, mango, lemon, peri peri.... & so many more. It's fun to head over to the sauce station and try several of them. I've gotten the grilled chicken sandwich with grilled pineapple (added topping) and the grilled chicken pitta with red peppers, cucumbers and pineapple. Delicious. The chips here are also delicious and I always order corn on the cob as a side. I wish more restaurants offered that! It's rare to see. The interior decor is always super trendy and artsy, giving the restaurant a fun vibe. Portugal in a nutshell.

As for their actual food, there is no meat on the bones, no matter what you order there is actually very little chicken given. The flavours are obviously amazing and set the precedence for "Peri peri" chicken itself, but it's just not up to scratch in terms of what is actually served. Skip this place, and look for local takeaways that serve peri peri (Portuguese) chicken with a decent amount of chicken on the bone. You would be far happier and save money too! :)

Mixed starters was great, then came the main course, thai green curry, beef and veg and a mixed veg side dish and rice. Plenty of rice, but to be honest the other dishes are what you'd get per person in any other restaurant, but these were between 4 of us, so we had to eat bearing in mind there was 3 others to eat also. Quite uncomfortable. We then had deserts (not included in price). My husband had a Ferrero ice cream, so when he found crunchy bits in it he thought it was nuts but no it was broken glass!!!! The edge of the bowl had been smashed. We immediately pointed this out to the staff who seen bewildered . My husband went to the restrooms to spit out the glass and rinse his mouth. They replaced the desert which he then enjoyed. We followed this with the included coffees which were also good. We were however extremely surprised when the bill came and we had been charged for everything. At a minimum I would have thought they'd have discounted my husband's desert and maybe as a gesture of goodwill maybe even his whole meal. But no. We had to convince them it was the right thing to do. But they said ohh it was an accident, but ok by you, but one of your customers ingested broken glass. We were made to feel like it was our fault that we'd done it on purpose. What for £6 of a £180 bill??? Shame but we won't be returning.

We looked at a few menus and settled on Las Iguanas with their Latin American offerings. The interior was nicely decorated with lots of bright colours and hanging strings of lights to give it a kinda outdoorsy patio look. They do have a very nice patio also but it was too cool to sit out there. I ordered half a rack of Havana Club & Jerk BBQ Glazed Pork Ribs (Fall off the bone individual pork ribs covered in a sticky rum glaze, topped with crispy onion & chilli) from their lunch menu, served with sweet potato fries and coleslaw. It was very good, just the right tenderness to release off the bone easily. Tasty. My three companions opted for a variety of appetizers, including chicken wings, quesadillas, and nachos. It was like tapas style. It was all very good. Their drink menu features Two-for-One cocktails all day so I tried the Rum Runner (Havana Club 3 Yr Rum, blackberry, banana, lime, pineapple, grenadine). It was good! Nobody else wanted a drink so I had them both. No problem! For dessert, we had the Creamy Caramel Cake, Coconut Ice Cream, and the Banana Empanada. Again, these did not disappoint. They were all very good. Good food and good service - that's what makes you come back. So we did. A week later, we made an unplanned trip to Milton Keynes, directly from Paris, to spend a few hours with a dear friend. We all agreed that we had to come back here for lunch. Again, we were not disappointed. This time, a friend and I ordered the Dominican Goat Curry (A spicy Dominican-style goat & scotch bonnet chilli curry with spring onion rice, fried plantain & pink pickled onions). It was very good but I have to say, it was one of the spiciest dishes I've ever had from a restaurant! HOT!!! Another friend had the ribs that I ordered the last time and our fourth diner went the appetizer/tapas route with wings and quesadillas. Despite all the choices within a few steps away, it was an easy decision to come back here. Again, tasty food and good service wins!
