There is a good value special set lunch menu, but we went for an evening meal and had one of the set menus for around £23 per head. For this we got a mixed starter platter with crispy wanton, chicken satay, ribs, spring roll, prawn in filo pastry and a couple of dipping sauces; this was followed by a bowl of soup which contained mushrooms and prawns. For the main we got a bowl of egg fried special rice, prawns in with an egg basket and noodles; beef in a spicy sauce with green beans; Thai red curry with duck; broccoli with oyster sauce; sweet and sour chicken in a filo pastry basket. For pudding there was a banana fritter wrapped in filo pastry, ice cream and a toffee sauce; coffee is also included. All the food was good or very good. The service was reasonably quick and polite. It is a small restaurant with about a dozen tables or so. It can get fairly busy, but you don't usually need to book. This was our first time, but we will be back: the place lacks a little in style and atmosphere, but still highly recommended.

I ordered the sticky pork ribs as a starter - they were very well cooked and were almost falling off the bone, but the sauce on them was sickly sweet. My main course was a beef stir fry (I asked for a spicy option and the server recommended this) Again the meat was well cooked, but it was so salty! While main courses are normally served with rice, I requested if I could substitute the rice for noodles. The egg noodles that were served with the beef was very tasty (and they weren't even on the menu) The place was quite full in the noon and most people in there were locals. The staff was really sweet and obliging. However the food was a disappointment. I just ate the noodles and picked at the beef and pork. Even mixed with the noodles the sweetness was cloying and the saltiness overwhelming. Next time I think I'll just eat at Ashridge before leaving, the buffets there were amazing.

I thought they were going to be fresh spring rolls but they are fried; it does say on the menu but I didn't read that part. It came with a plum sauce but would have been nicer with some hot mustard. Unfortunately, they do not do fresh spring rolls. The Tom Ka soup was quite good. It's a bit heavier than most Tom Ka soups I've had and I would have preferred it to be a bit spicy. The Pad See-Ew was fantastic. They serve a very generous portion and it's just delicious! And like the soup, it would be nice if it was a little spicy. I'm sure they can make it spicy if you ask them and I wish I would have asked. The food is very fresh and delicious and I would absolutely come back here.
