Nando's in Leigh is a great brand to have in the town, it is located on Derby Street, a standalone restaurant inside the Tesco parking lot.
I do find the food a little pricey for what it is, a Chicken Butterfly meal with two sides would cost £14.45, without a drink and any further extras. Prices also seem to be going up very frequently, they seem to be increasing by 20-25p every month or two.
The interior is fairly typical of any Nando's, so no surprises there. I did notice far fewer booths and comfortable seating though.
You can either order at your table with the QR code or at the counter, I had to do the latter due to having an allergy. Service wasn't too attentive or friendly but it could have been as they were busy, as I visited on a Saturday afternoon.
PRO TIP: Despite being a meat restaurant Nando's do NOT have mayonnaise, stocking a vegan alternative instead, offering a perinaise (peri-peri mayo) as a paid sauce, so if you're looking for regular mayo, head into Tesco beforehand.
I ordered my usual Nando's order, a medium spiced Chicken Butterfly with Peri Chips and Spicy Rice, the chicken was cooked well and the rice was hot but the chips just seemed to be missing something, and had no colour to them, other than the peri salt.
3* - OK for sure, one of the better places to eat in Leigh, but there are very limited options in the town. read more
