I do find the food a little pricey for what it is, a Chicken Butterfly meal with two sides would cost £14.45, without a drink and any further extras. Prices also seem to be going up very frequently, they seem to be increasing by 20-25p every month or two. The interior is fairly typical of any Nando's, so no surprises there. I did notice far fewer booths and comfortable seating though. You can either order at your table with the QR code or at the counter, I had to do the latter due to having an allergy. Service wasn't too attentive or friendly but it could have been as they were busy, as I visited on a Saturday afternoon. PRO TIP: Despite being a meat restaurant Nando's do NOT have mayonnaise, stocking a vegan alternative instead, offering a perinaise (peri-peri mayo) as a paid sauce, so if you're looking for regular mayo, head into Tesco beforehand. I ordered my usual Nando's order, a medium spiced Chicken Butterfly with Peri Chips and Spicy Rice, the chicken was cooked well and the rice was hot but the chips just seemed to be missing something, and had no colour to them, other than the peri salt. 3* - OK for sure, one of the better places to eat in Leigh, but there are very limited options in the town.

It looks and tastes really healthy and is full of grains like Quinoa and topped with a lovely Avocado based dressing. My girlfriend had the Quinoa salad with extra chicken which looked fantastic! My friend and I ordered 2 starters to share between us, the cod fishcakes and the sweet potato garlic bread. Both were really delicious, the fishcakes were exceptionally delicious and so fresh and were served with a home made tartare sauce which must be the nicest I ever tasted. The sweet potato garlic bread was quite heavy, though delicious and very garlicky, and perfect to share. For my main I had ordered a chicken and chorizo skewer. This was served on a suspended skewer above a pot of their delightful home made sauce. I also had a portion of chips and some rice on the side. The portion size was great for a hearty appetite, and the meat was so tender and tasty - and the sauce was full of flavour. I shouldn't have had a dessert as I was really too full, but I couldn't resist, I had the after eight cheesecake. In too many restaurants the desserts are a bit of an afterthought and something thats just grabbed from the freezer. Not so here, its obvious that as much effort goes into the desserts as in the other courses. Again, home made and very original, and as delicious as the rest. I thoroughly enjoyed my meal at Perola Do Mar, and I am sure that I will be visiting many more times in the future.
