Located in the Mailbox, it's your usual Nandos interior - quite comfortable seating and wanna-be chic décor. The waiting staff is very friendly and helpful, the Nandos way. Have you been to Nandos before, do you know how it works? Yes, first, you bring the menu up to the table, but to actually order our food, we have to walk up to the counter. Half a star for service, half a star for atmosphere.
Although the food is ok, I've had better chicken and definitely more generous portions (especially in terms of the side dishes!) for a lot less, so it's not exactly great value for money. But I do like the bottomless drinks. Half a star.
The food. What is peri-peri, anyway? Because it certainly is more than chili, but less than a successful spice combination. Ranging in heat from mild to unbearable, it certainly tastes very generic. Is it a way of saying you prefer using a pre-packed spice combination because you can't be bothered to flavour your dishes individually? But my aversion to Nandos concept of peri-peri put aside, the chicken was juicy and the sides tasty. One star.
Would I come to eat here every day if I could? Although flame-grilled chicken ranks pretty high when it comes to satisfying my meat gravings, I probably wouldn't get it here again. read more
