My premium increased by about 60%, despite the fact that I had a clean driving record with no accidents, tickets, or points on my license. The increase seemed excessive, and the only alternatives offered were to significantly reduce my coverage to lower the premium. For me, that wasn't a practical solution. If I'm paying for insurance, I want coverage that will actually protect me when I need it. I understand that this was something that occurred with State Farm across the board. However, I still believe the local office bears some responsibility for how it was handled. I received an email notifying me that my premium would increase substantially and was told to call or email if I wanted to make adjustments to my policy. The new premium would have been about one and a half times my monthly car payment. I had been with State Farm for several years in the past and had been back with them for another year or two, so this was especially disappointing given that I had no at-fault accidents, tickets, points, or any other issues on my driving record. The explanation I was given was that the increase was due, in part, to false claims being filed by other people. In my opinion, if State Farm fails to accurately anticipate the cost of doing business or fails to adequately investigate the validity of claims before paying them, those are business failures--not consumer failures. I don't believe customers with clean driving records should be expected to absorb the cost of those shortcomings through dramatic premium increases. Because of the substantial rate increase and the lack of reasonable options to maintain adequate coverage, I ultimately decided to switch to another insurer.

I am having a really horrific experience with this office, particularly Joel Mercado and Vicky…read moreSzeto. After they wrote our policy, the insurance company has made an ambiguous request for a "certification on our roof". After meeting with multiple licensed roofers, we couldn't figure out what "certification" meant and who could provide it. After a long wild goose chase, Joel and team investigated and told us that they have no idea what is needed to comply with the policy the wrote. So even though we have not filed a claim or anything significant has changed, for what appears to be an administrative hurdle, we will need to switch insurance providers. Understanding that brokers don't have control over insurance company decisions, I'd like to think that the value of working a good broker is that they will partner with you in problem solving after they have sold you something -- even if at the end of the answer is that your business needs to go elsewhere. This 100% feels like Winky Wong's office gives you care for the sale, but isn't going to invest time or effort to maintain that after the sale. I would stay away from this office.

GEICO Insurance - They told me my wait time would be 30 minutes and with no option for a call back number. Insane.

That little lizard saved my ass again…read more I can't begin to tell you how great Geico has been to me over the last 15 years. This time a motorist hit me without any insurance, and GEICO covered the bill. Last time I had a car that I had not registered yet, but I was driving it and GEICO insured that when a lady pulled out in front of me. This was after her insurance company was not claiming full responsibility. GEICO paid me, and then went after them. The gentleman who came out to do an estimate on my car was very professional. I've dealt with GEICO professionals, a handful of times over the years and each time I always get friendly and helpful and professional service. ~Howard Helm

GEICO Has Completely Abandoned Its Customers - 15-Year Loyal Policyholder Left in Limbo for Over…read moreTWO MONTHS! I have been a GEICO customer for almost 15 years and I have NEVER experienced anything this disgusting and unacceptable. My car was hit with vandalism and a collision that was NOT my fault. It's been OVER TWO MONTHS and GEICO still hasn't taken care of it. Their AI "system" spat out a ridiculous, low-ball estimate that doesn't even come close to what any reputable body shop says it will actually cost to repair. I can't even open my driver-side window, there are huge scratches all over the car from the vandalism, and the sunroof deflector is completely broken. I've been driving around like this for TWO MONTHS while paying full premiums every single month. What the hell am I even paying insurance for?! I've called, emailed, and begged for help. No callback adjusters. No appointments ever get made. Every time I reach out I get the same runaround: "We'll have an adjuster call you back" or "Reach out to your adjuster." Guess what? No one ever does. Specifically, Richard never makes appointments, doesn't return emails, completely ignores every attempt to reach him, and gaslights you when you finally get someone on the phone. It's the same nightmare for local autobody shops--they're sitting on a backlog of over 40 GEICO vehicles, including mine, and they can't get anyone at GEICO to return a single phone call either. Even Supervisor Kalvin has not returned correspondence to either me or the body shop--not just for my vehicle, but for others too. Unbelievable. I've escalated this multiple times. Zero results. Supervisors? Total joke. They just repeat the same script and disappear. GEICO used to be reliable. Now it feels like they're deliberately making it impossible for customers to get their cars fixed so they can keep our money. Someone at the top needs to wake up--this is not how you run an insurance company. You're going to lose customers left and right, and frankly, you deserve to. This level of incompetence is so bad it should trigger a class-action lawsuit. I will never recommend GEICO to anyone again and I'm actively looking to switch carriers the second this nightmare is finally resolved (if it ever is). Stay away from GEICO if you value your time, your car, or your sanity. Why am I even waiting this long to get a car repaired when the body shop has been standing by ready to repair it and they're out here dishing AI estimate for $13 to fix a damaged window for the result of vandalism and theft as well as scratch vehicle and now in the interim my vehicle has been hit by someone in the parking space and the bumper is cracked. I haven't even put in the claim for that because I can't even get something simple like this done.
