I've been reading these reviews. What this is, is the only laundromat in town between here and Ewa or Waipahu. To the West, there's Waianae laundromat but their machines don't dry as fast, and are always broken. I don't know what people are expecting about Nanakuli laundromat. Have they looked around? There are a lot of chronics on the Westside, period. They need bars on the laundromat to keep things operational. They are dual purpose, as I'll mention later. Anyway, same with Castor's in Waipahu, bars are not a prison to keep you in--they are there to keep you safe from what's outside. What's outside are not all that people sensationalize, either. People who are living with addiction are no different than the people who have the pile of Amazon boxes at their door, or who buy wine in bulk to get the 15% off, or those who go to Vegas more than once a year to strike it big. You know who strikes it big? The State of Hawaii--they track your earnings. My co-worker had to owe on her taxes for paying slot machines in Vegas! That's just aside that might save someone the difference between having money for Tide versus the generic soap. See that transition? Some reviewers need to get real. If you want a nice place to wash your clothes and have A/C and free WiFi, this is NOT the place. If you spill some thing, there is no water, so bring your own. There is only a little spigot trickling water, crammed behind a hole in plywood. It is very inventive to cut down on using such a precious resource--mālama 'āina, y'all! What would you rather have, to watch a random person take an improvised shower in front of you or the high cost of machines due to water-waste,? At Nanakuli laundromat, you get neither! And yes, they are short on space but then again, I'd rather have more machines to not have to wait for machines rather than more space to wait around in. If people are clinically obese, then the heat on warm days can help them sweat off some water weight. Also, maybe instead of watching their clothes inside, people can exercise walking back and forth outside because you can see the machines through the bars! See! I told you bars aren't so bad! Went to this laundromat 3 times and so far so good. The machines work. There's a laundry soap and dryer sheet dispenser. Not so crowded in the mornings depends on what days. Change machine on site. read more

This place ABSOLUTELY SUCKS There's no A/C whatsoever and it's super tiny Customers have to maneuver around one another to get from one side to the other God forbid if you happen to be Plus size or BIG on Pounds cuz this would be considered cruel and unusual punishment for you. Average local laundry may in nanakuli old appliance but work. Don't have soap or fabric softeners dispensers due to theft and vandals. read more

Ok so I don't want to sound "Snobby" but its overall environment is filthy and scary. It's obvious that a lot of illegal activities take place there. I wasn't sure whether to watch my clothes washing or my car that was parked there. read more
