Why is there always a line

One man's trash is still the guy's junk Doing some home remodeling (I know you read my 800 Junk and American Carpet One reviews) I created a mess. I needed to get rid of cardboard boxes and some old flooring. Luckily this place is open daily from 0700 to 1800. Entrance way is simple one way in and same way out. Just be carefully because a few yards away is a blind turn and cars tend to speed here. Also the large garbage trucks come in and out to change the garbage bins periodically. After coming into the property, you're greeted by the keeper. I'm not sure what you call his position without me sounding rude and he doesn't look quite like that Red Foxx. Ooh who will get that reference? Show your age. Well he directs you to which bin to dump your trash. FYI any appliances that use Freon will be check that they're empty. 800 Junk will charge a $35 fee for disposal so it yourself and it free. $10 for mattress. Drive up to your directed bin, throw out the junk, and drive off. It's as simple as that. Overall four stars. It's a great service but long lines and that blind turn doesn't quite rate a five. Now excuse me, time to be in the look out for speeding cars. M

Web site says they open at 7am daily (screenshot attached). Apparently Saturdays don't count as daily. I hate you.

Since we recently got a truck, it was only fitting that we can finally dump trash and our Christmas tree at the local dump. It was my first time there and I didn't know what to expect. We got there at around 10 am on a Wednesday morning and there was already a long line forming. If you come through Kalaeloa side, the attendant in front will point you to the back of the line coming from Ewa beach. I'm sorry, I don't know street names haha. We only had a tree and a broken chair to dump but it took us about 45 min start to finish. It is located right next to the sewage plant and it's one way in and one way out. There were two dumpsters that were being used and the second attendant will point you in the direction of which one he wants you to go to. Depending on how much things you (or the cars in front of you) have is how long you have to wait. It is pretty organized for a dump. The sewage plant wasn't smelly today so the visit was tolerable. I'm pretty sure it would be a longer wait if the bins were all full and they would have to replace it, but there was someone there that made it all compact. I just wished we planned it out and brought more things to dump. At least I know what to expect next time!

    Long line bulei..moves fast tho..hopefully.

Why is there such a long wait? Dump and go!!! I don't get how a dump place has a line and more than a 30min wait is crazy

I live in Waikele, but whenever I needed to recycle my HI-5, I always went to Waipahu or other…read moreplaces. One day I decided to try this place, and it took me less than 10 minutes to drive there. It's a small recycling center next to Inspire Church. I arrived there at 4:00 PM. They had bins stacked up, and you can grab a bin and sort by plastic, soda cans, and beer bottles. You can also sort your 16.9 oz bottles separately because they will pay you more for those. I was surprised that there was only one person working, but he was nice and friendly -- and he moved really fast. I was amazed at how quickly he worked. He actually goes through the bins and takes out anything that is not HI-5. I thought protein drink cans had HI-5 on them, but I was wrong. It was impressive how he could process everything all day while sorting at the same time. At first, I had to ask him why he was taking out certain cans, and he explained that those didn't have HI-5 on them. I saw some reviews about workers at recycling places being dishonest. I won't mention any names, but there are a few places where workers have been dishonest. However, this place has plenty of surveillance cameras, and they weigh your cans and plastic right in front of you. I think it's nearly impossible for them to cheat here. At other places, they weigh your cans and bottles where you can't see the scale. But here, the weight scale is right in front of you, and there are even cameras pointing at the scale. As a Yelp reviewer, I want to give my honest opinion. When I see negative comments like that, I like to dig in and compare them to my own observations. Like I said, at other places you can't see the weight scale or any cameras. I have been recycling for a while, and I got the most money here. When I took my recycling to a competitor, I didn't get nearly as much as I did at RRR Recycling. I didn't realize I had essentially been sharing my payout with the workers at the other place. On top of that, I even gave them a few extra dollars to buy themselves a drink. lol I won't say exactly how much I got, but I will say I got $25.00 more than at other places. I also think that if you don't receive a summary of your recycling and feel your return was too low, you can probably call their management and open an investigation. But I was super happy with my extra $25, and my receipt broke down exactly what I had and how much I received for each item -- like an itemized receipt. On top of everything, the worker was solo and incredibly fast, and he was very friendly. I asked him if he was a regular employee there, and he said he is only a part-timer. He was too shy to be in a picture, but I managed to get a photo of him from behind. I hope management recognizes and appreciates his hard work. Sometimes it's hard to find someone who is both honest and hardworking, and when you find that person, doing everything you can to keep them is better for your business and better for your customers. As you looking at the picture you can see all the cameras in the building and it will be impossible for them to cheat. That's my observation!!!

I usually go to a recycling center in Kapolei but it is closed on Monday's so I decided to try some…read moreplace new that is in close vicinity to my home. I saw this place had a fairly good review so I gave it a go. Sadly it fell way below expectations. I drove up and there was no other customers there. I noticed a female employee looking at her phone. I started unloading my 6 bags of recyclables and put the into the designated bins. Female employee still hadn't acknowledged me. Since this was my first time there I wasn't familiar with where to put my filled bins when I was done. I hesitatingly pulled them up the ramp and put them on the left side of the chains. With nothing said to me again she got up from watching her phone and pulled them under the chain to the middle. A male employee came out to assist her and they just spoke between themselves about another customer that has just pulled up. She handed me the money and receipt. And the first and only words uttered to me the whole time "$33.75." This experience has left me feeling like an inconvenience, I'm not sure how the have above a 1 star rating.
