I came to this center during one of the hardest and most frightening times of my life, reaching out…read morefor support at a moment when I genuinely needed it. What I received instead was inaction, condescension, and a kind of hostility that was all the more disorienting for being wrapped in a polite tone. I made contact through ordinary, appropriate channels. Rather than being met with care, I was treated as though reaching out was itself a problem, as though someone in crisis asking for support was an inconvenience or a concern to be managed rather than a person to be helped. Underneath the performed warmth, was nice nasty condescension and a clear message that my needs were too much. That message was delivered in a way designed to appear reasonable while it was delivered with contempt. I also want to name something about how this center staffs its support. Partnering women in acute crisis with graduate trainees is not appropriate. People reaching out at the worst moments of their lives are not practice cases for the next generation of mental health professionals, but that is exactly what it was. As a client, I was treated like material for someone's training rather than a person receiving care. When the support you reach for is structured around the learning needs of a student rather than the immediate needs of the person in crisis, the person in crisis is the one who pays. And I paid for it. When Heather, a supervisor became involved, the experience got worse. Her tone had a thin veneer of pleasantry that masked dismissiveness. I was talked down to, treated as though I didn't understand my own situation, and steered through a process that centered the center's procedures rather than anything resembling actual attention to the person in front of them. I was never asked what I wanted or needed. It was framed as help. But it was not help. I was managed out the door while being told it was for my benefit. There is a particular harm in being failed by the very people whose stated purpose is to support you, and in being made to feel that your reasonable need for care is a red flag. At a moment when I was already carrying more than I could hold, this added a fresh injury on top of it. I left more hurt than when I arrived. Care is not condescension delivered with sarcasm. Care is not deciding someone's course of action and calling it a referral. Care is not treating a person in crisis as a liability to be handled. Care is not handing a person at their most vulnerable to someone still learning the job. Whatever this was, it was not care, and I would caution anyone reaching out at a vulnerable moment to know that what you find here may not be the support you are hoping for. It's another dead end with grant funding. Very disappointing. The women of Brevard county deserve better.

I was provided with free group counseling on a weekly basis for about two years. The group was…read morespecifically focused on a type of trauma I survived as a child. The group members, leader and curriculum helped me understand so much about my family dynamics and how the abuse was allowed to continue for a decade. I have fewer nightmares. I have developed the courage to distance myself from certain family members, to set boundaries and enforce them, to release feelings of shame and guilt I'd been carrying (unknowingly) since age 4 or so. The process took a lot of work, time and heartache, but I am much happier now than I've ever been. I have an indescribable sense of freedom now that I've released the feeling of 'owing' people for allowing me to live. During the time I was attending classes here, I was also heavily involved with Codependents Anonymous. I highly recommend that group in tandem.

I currently live in Silicon Valley, California, after I relocated to this area (following a brief…read morestay) in Central Florida, back in 2021. I recently suffered through a series of traumatic life events, and so I attempted to reach out to Dr. Joel Shuy Psy.D. in my time of need. I wanted to to see if it would be possible to continue having sessions with Dr. Shuy, via telehealth appointments, while I'm living in the California area. Dr. Shuy was just as kind, caring, and understanding as he always has been. He permitted me to have sessions with him via long distance, and we've already met for several long distances sessions, via the phone, since I recently reached out to him. Dr. Shuy is truly one of the most gifted and knowledgeable Psychologists that I've ever had the pleasure of being a patient of. Dr. Shuy has helped me so very much in life throughout the years, and now again, he has helped me, substantially so, just in the few sessions that we've recently had.

I've been a patient at Network Wellness Care for 3 years. Since I have spinal fusion between L4…read moreand L5 and bilateral total hip replacements, my treatments there are a necessary part of my health and mobility. About two weeks ago, I tore my latissimus dorsi muscle thanks to a hard, sudden lurch while riding on the 1 train. The pain on the left side of my back was unbelievable, so much so that I had trouble even breathing because of the body movement it involved. After a week of recovery which included muscle relaxants, I had to go back to work. Immediately, the pain was incapacitating. I asked Dr. Suzanne McBride if she could see me (stat!), and she gave me a therapeutic massage which also included a network treatment and reflexology work. When I entered the office I could barely walk and, amazingly, I have been 99% pain free for almost a week since seeing her. In addition to the skill and beautiful intention which is abundant in her network chiropractic practice, Suzanne is also a trained (and gifted) massage therapist, and she studied reflexology in China. She used all three healing methods to restore my health and mobility, for which I'm very grateful. I highly recommend Dr. McBride and her SoHo Network Wellness Care practice to anyone seeking wellness of mind, body, and spirit. Not only is Suzanne's heart-filled, holistic work wonderful, but the office and the community is refreshing as well. Jill Good

Hidden gem in Brevard!…read more I first brought my boyfriend to Nurture Yourself seeking help for his knee pain. After many years of martial arts, his knees were in terrible shape, and he was struggling even with basic movement and walking comfortably. Candice began treatment with Prolozone therapy, and after three sessions, he also did PRP. The improvement was noticeable immediately, even after the very first prolozone injection. Thanks to this small clinic in Titusville, he's now able to work out again, move much more efficiently, and get back to doing the things he loves. After seeing his results, I decided to try ozone therapy for my chronic sinus issues. I had struggled with persistent congestion and poor breathing for a long time. After just three ear ozone treatments and one nasal ozone treatment, my sinus issues completely cleared up. My breathing improved so much that I can finally sleep through the night again. I truly thank God for leading us to this place. This is a small business run by two amazing women -- Candice and Traci -- who genuinely care about helping people improve their quality of life. Their dedication, compassion, and knowledge make such a difference. I just wanted to share our experience and hope our testimony may help someone else looking for answers.
