I recently suffered through a series of traumatic life events, and so I attempted to reach out to Dr. Joel Shuy in my time of need. I wanted to to see if it would be possible to continue having sessions with Dr. Shuy, via telehealth appointments, while I'm living in the California area. Dr. Shuy was just as kind, caring, and understanding as he always has been. He permitted me to have sessions with him via long distance, and we've already met for several long distances sessions, via the phone, since I recently reached out to him. Dr. Shuy is truly one of the most gifted and knowledgeable Psychologists that I've ever had the pleasure of being a patient of. Dr. Shuy has helped me so very much in life throughout the years, and now again, he has helped me, substantially so, just in the few sessions that we've recently had.

She said she wanted me to get blood work done and then she failed to give me a lab slip or contact me afterwards. She also started to lecture me about a coffee drink I had just finished based on her assumption, not on reality. It had no sugar in it (but she assumed it was one of those sugary frap drinks). I decided to give her another chance because there were no other nearby psychiatrists. She booked an appointment with me and when I showed up she said I did not have an appointment with me and that's why she doesn't book appointments with clients directly. She seemed very scattered/ungrounded during the appointment I had with her. Between me missing half a day of work to take public transportation to an appointment she apparently forgot to write down and her poor communication/listening skills, I will definitely be contacting upper management about her misconduct.

He saved me when I was suffering from severe depression after being overly medicated and he quite literally gave me my life back. He treats a range of disorders from ADHD Disorder to Bipolar Disorder. He also treats Binge Eating Disorder as well. Dr. Bunt's Nurse Practitioners are some of the best in his field if you ask me (which I've seen doctors from Stanford Medicine and Harvard Medicine), Susan in particular is one of the most intelligent, caring, kind and inviting Nurse Practitioners that I have ever encountered. Another issue I've heard mentioned on Yelp (when it comes to medical staff) before is rude office staff. You will never encounter rude office staff when it comes to visiting with Dr. Bunt. The office staff are all very kind and considerate. They will bend over backwards to help their patients on any way that they can. Dr. Bunt (and his entire staff) were all there for me during the most difficult time in my life (my divorce from an abusive ex husband) this left me in a terrible situation financially and Dr. Bunt's staff really worked with me to help during this time so that I wouldn't miss appointments. Susan was an absolute angel during my divorce as well and she actually took the time to counsel me and help me even more than her busy schedule allowed and for this I will forever be grateful to her. Speaking of counseling. I also see Dr. Shuy as my Psychologist and he's highly recommended as well. It's recommended that when seeing a Psychiatrist you also see a Psychologist to assist with your mental health needs and Dr. Shuy is one of the most gifted and caring Psychologists in the Space Coast. You can find Dr. Shuy at Atlantic Psychiatric Centers and he works at both the Cocoa Florida and Palm Bay Florida locations. He also volunteers at the Hospital in Rockledge Florida (formerly Wuestoff Hospital) Dr. Bunt has a full schedule (he quite literally has more patients than he time to see them all) due to the Covid 19 Pandemic (everyone is suffering during this time) so if he accepts you as a new patient be grateful and expect longer than average wait times for your appointments. Don't miss appointments as Dr. Bunt's time is very limited and if you do need to cancel an appointment don't expect to be rescheduled right away. Be be sure to cancel appointments well in advance (though their cancellation fee is more than reasonable, it's just courteous to the office staff and to the other patients who need an appointments to cancel well in advance. Dr. Bunt does not accept Medicare or Medicaid but he does accept United Healthcare and Cigna. Office visits for cash paying customers are $160 a visit. I have a feeling that the first visit will run about $300 (it's been many years (7) since my initial appointment). Initially Dr. Bunt will see you and then he relies of his Nurse Practitioners to maintain your care until your next visit with him. Don't worry, Dr. Bunt's Nurse Practitioners are highly skilled and so much so that they could easily be Psychiatrists themselves. He must go through painstaking process of finding them because everyone at his office is just the best I've ever come across so please don't worry that you won't always see Dr. Bunt, he's there for you for an appointment whenever you request one with him directly, just ask. Please keep in mind what I've said about Dr. Bunt's busy schedule though, Dr. Bunt's time is very limited so be sure to keep your appointments with him once scheduled. When it comes to your mental health you want the best help that you can find and Dr. Bunt is the best. He's also one of the only Psychiatrist in the Space Coast area but if you are searching for a great Psychiatrist on the Space Coast then you are in luck as you will be in good hands with Dr. Bunt.

AVOID THIE PRACTICE AT ALL COSTS…read more Provider immeadiately scruntized every medication I've prescribed by my previous doctor. Spent no time getting to know me whatsoever. Provider firmly stated she does not prescribe dexedrine to any patients, only vyvanse. (Vyvanse is a pro drug of dexedrine so it turns into dexedrine once in the body so it is very similar). She also claimed that dexedrine is used for weight loss which is also incorrect. It may be used for binge eating but not weight loss. "All my patients like vyvanse the best" which is absurd because well, I am an my own individual. Just complete ignorance. I left that appointment feeling utterly hopeless and in tears. She also told me that if I did want vyvanse, she would force me off my sedatives that I sparingly use. She said to wean myself off then with NO plan on how to taper which is beyond reckless because improperly taking of sedatives has the potential to actully result in death. A complete joke. They will issue drug tests as well and treat every patient who uses these types of meds as addicts. AVOID THIS PRACTICE AT ALL COSTS.

Everyone at circles of care needs held accountable for the mistreatment of patients who cannot help themselves, that's why they are there. I've been with…read morethe office for years and when I called the manager to ask for a form that they have on their file they are refusing to give me the updated form because I wasn't seen in the office for a few months and the reason being is that I don't have money to afford my visit but I am getting insurance in January and I need my form within a 5 day period so I could receive service for a day care. I explained to them about my insurance its not active until January i would be more than happy to go in when my insurance is active they are holding my letter hostage until they get paid! Who would do that to someone? A very heartless office manager and doctor! You would think that his office staff has seen me in there for the past 3 years and you would think that they can understand that money is tight for single parents. The want me to pay out of pocket to be seen and can't wait two weeks for my insurance to be active. That is despicable if you ask me. The office keeps hanging up on me when I ask to speak to my doctor and saying he's not in the office. They have my medical information and my diagnosis and are harassing me by not providing me with a letter that they have on file, they keep saying that I harass them by calling their office? That is their job to pick up phones and help their patients they are being insubordination by not helping their patients with their needs. They are being discriminate towards me because I don't have the money quick enough for them. Beware of this office they are seriously corrupt.
