What a nightmare. WOW! I'm so shocked at how I was treated…read moreby her, that I'm writing this review. I had an appointment today at her Rockledge "office", and I'm writing "office" because I'm really not sure what it was, tbh. It seemed like there were 3 other business in there (aerospace, real estate, her). It was dark because there were no lights on, also there was not very much room in the entrance, which is where we sat for our session. Yes, right by the front door. So, I get there and looked for her door, and couldn't find it. I called her on the phone to let her know I was there and was lost. She said to me "remember, I told you...." Well, obviously I didn't remember otherwise I wouldn't have called. Plus I don't need to be scolded for calling you because I didn't remember. So, she says she'll come out and get me. Well, after being 'reminded', I found the door to get into the building and it was LOCKED. I waited almost 2 minutes for her to get to the door and wondered if I needed to stand somewhere else, maybe by the back door since this one was locked; I was so confused. Well, she showed up and unlocked the door and when she opened the door, the first words out of her mouth was "see the sign with my name on it". I said "did it matter since I wouldn't have been able to get in with a locked door?". I asked to use the RR, and came out and said I needed to go over forms with her because they were very hard to read. The forms looked like they were copies of copies x40 and even used before, because I could see someone else's signature on one of them (see pic attached). When I mentioned there was a signature and I could see it had been filled out, she told me that she "lost" her master and used white-out to fax it to me. I told her I wouldn't sign her HIPAA form because I didn't want her to release my information to anyone and that this is just an 'intro' to see if we click. She told me that I HAD to. I told her I didn't and that I don't sign it at any Dr office, because I don't authorize any of my information to be shared without my prior authorization and no other office I've ever been to had a problem with it. Then she said to me "I don't think this is going to work" my response, "maybe not". I also told her that the therapists I've seen before didn't have that form and that they agreed not to share any info about me without my authorization. On to the Presenting Problem form which asks that I circle anything that pertains to me, which I had done and handed to her. She began tossing the forms back at me saying "you need to fill this out, and this out". I said I did circle ONLY what pertained to me. She said "oh yeah, I see that, you're right". Then we get to the Responsible Party Information form, that included a cancellation/no show policy and other information section. She wanted me to fill in the same information twice for insurance, but it was already on the first page, and that I needed to put in emergency contact information. I put the emergency contact information in the wrong spot and she sure let me know it. I told her that her form was a nightmare and that I couldn't read it, and then she finally turned on a light. I asked her if she could read the form and she said yes. I handed the form to her said "you can each that entire paragraph?". She began reading the paragraph to me - what the...?? I got up and said "you're right, this isn't going to work and I'm leaving". I said, bill my insurance, I'll pay for this. She said no, "I won't bill, we didn't even get started". I began to walk out the door, and she started saying to me that she "works hard" and is a "hard worker". I said "I don't care, this was a horrible experience". I called my EAP right after I left and told them not to refer anyone to her. Melinda left me a VM later saying that she IS going to bill my insurance for all of the "work" that went into setting up the appointment. Please don't waste your time, you'll be disappointed.

Melinda was very unhelpful. She does a terrible job listening, she talks about herself to much and…read moredoesn't integrate feedback. I decided to stop seeing her but before I did, in our last session, I asked if I could read her online reviews so she could see I wasn't the only one. She told me I couldn't or she would end the session. So instead, I began voicing my concerns about her lack of listening, when she decided to interrupt and tell me not to read online reviews. I explained again that these comments were from me. She kept interrupting and explaining to me that all these negative reviews are from people who only saw her once, and they're all dysfunctional and wrong, and she's been doing this 20 years and I don't know what I'm talking about. I left right there on the spot and I'm glad I did. I was eventually able to work out my issues on my own. I suggest if your a person struggling with things and need a therapist to not use this person and find someone with better reviews.
