Having limited time and energy, my search for vegetarian food in the neighborhood near the airport led me to this hole in the wall Indian place. The seats were a bit dodgy, but there were other people eating in. They had a wide North Indian menu, but I went straight for the house specials. I asked for their house dal at a high spice level. They expressed some skepticism. The end result made my nose run a little bit, but I doubt it was the spiciest food they could make. It did have a robust herbal flavor and a mouthwatering mix of lentils. My onion and chili naan was fresh and crisp. The chili soy chunk appetizer I ordered ended up being a bit excessive, but I was able to down the leftovers later. A tea that I asked for unsweetened had a strong cardamom note. I wouldn't suggest the average New Yorker that they need to head out here for Indian, but for those near the airport, the food is of enough quality that I wasn't disappointed. read more

However, pani puri fillings was a size of sauce cup, unacceptable for the price I paid and the samosa + papad was burned. I had to throw it out. I am never ordering from here again. We ordered delivery through one of the delivery apps. We tried to order directly through the restaurant but were outside their delivery radius. The order was delivered within half an hour. Probably the best delivery experience that I've had through one of the apps. For starters, we shared the samosa and the gobi manchurian (fried cauliflower in a sweet and spicy sauce). I highly recommend the cauliflower. It was probably my favorite dish. It reminded me a lot of the old school sweet and sour or general Tso American style Chinese food. Definitely a comfort food. The woman at the register was so pleasant and understanding. The day we picked up the food, she sent a worker out to help load the car as it was a large order and parking is difficult to find in the area.
