Nama, Kani, Rian, and Surf & Turf rolls.

My favorite sushi spot in the area. Limited menu compared to most sushi locations, but each roll is a 10/10. My favorite rolls are the Nama roll, Kani roll, Rian roll, and the surf & turf roll. They also offer several entree options. I personally like their sesame chicken and the pad sea ew noodles. I love that they rotate seasonal beverages. On weekends, it may be a good idea to get a reservation as their dining room is smaller and it's a very popular spot. They do have 3 outside tables, a full bar on the second level with seating and roof top seating seasonally.

This restaurant is located in a plaza with other businesses in Carrollton. There is limited parking in the lot so parking may be an issue for you. The restaurant is small and intimate. The tables and walls are decorated with nice decor. A bar was located upstairs in the restaurant. When we arrived we were seated right after the hostess removed the extra dishes from our table. While waiting for her to return, I observed that the wine glass on our table was dirty and had lip gloss stains on them. After bringing it to our waitress' attention she brought out new drinking glasses and had me verify that they were clean before pouring our water. The waitress then told us about the specials. One of which was the go west sushi roll. It sounded good so I ordered it. The sushi was served with eight rolls and contained cream cheese, tuna, shrimp tempura, avocado, and tempura crunch on top. The roll was good. The hibachi shrimp was also good. It was served with a large portion of stir fried vegetables and the option of steamed or fried rice for an up charge. The waitress initially forgot to bring out the miso soup that is served with the entree. After I reminded her she brought it out without hesitation.

It is so bad I want to give it a zero but that's not possible, so I give it a 1. Overall awful experience!! Our server Kevin was not attentive, was all over the place. We ordered drinks & didn't get them until halfway through our meal. There was ROACHES crawling in the dining area on the booths!! I can't imagine how horrible it must be in the kitchen. We were a party of 3, we all ordered hibachi, and when we ALL asked for yum yum sauce he only brought us 2. When we asked for more he seemed highly annoyed. We waited a very long time after our meal to receive our checks, & when we finally paid he charged us all wrong on our cards & had to be charged TWICE. I'm not the type to leave bad reviews but this experience was so bad. Definitely don't recommend.

Great place for sushi! We love the Nama Roll, Dragon Roll, and most of their specialty rolls. I like to try a different one every time I go.

Pretty okay, it's a bit expensive for what it is. But it is nice to go there every so often.

Awkward Welcome, Bland Food, but Attentive Service Rating:…read more (2/5) Review (posted June 22, 2025): I visited Big Bear Asian Buffet at 6 PM on a Sunday evening, hoping for a fresh buffet experience during the dinner rush. Unfortunately, it fell short from the start. When I walked in, I followed the sign that said "Please wait to be seated." I stood there for several minutes as multiple waitresses looked at me but said nothing. It was uncomfortable. Eventually, a woman in a hoodie and sweatsuit appeared, said nothing, waved for me to follow her, and pointed at a table. Still no greeting, no words--just an awkward start to the meal. Once I was seated, one of the original waitresses came over to take my drink order. She ended up being the bright spot of the visit--very attentive and made sure my drink was always topped off. The food, however, didn't live up to expectations. Most of the hot dishes were lukewarm and lacked seasoning. I tried the sushi--five options total--and sadly, all were dry and very bland, like they'd been sitting out for a long time. Not what you'd hope for at prime dinner time. It's worth noting that the place seems to be a hotspot for locals picking up to-go boxes. I watched several people come in, pile food to the very top of their takeout containers, and head out within minutes. So maybe that's their main crowd--but it didn't do much to improve the dine-in experience. Bottom line: The service at the table was solid, but everything else--cold welcome, tired food, and lack of overall hospitality--makes it unlikely I'll return. There are better buffet options in the area where you'll feel like more than just another transaction.

Food was so awful. Worst sushi I've ever put in my mouth. It was dry, old, sliced paper thin, tiny pieces and tasted like vinegar. Inedible. General Tso's chicken was disgusting. They don't care. Had to walk up to cashier to ask if I could get a refill. She was hunched over her cell phone like the servers. No one wants to be there. Bad energy. A server came and slapped the bill down but then sat down and played on her phone and never came to get the bill, so I just finally walked over to the cashier with the plastic tray and my credit card. Didn't even get a "thank you"....Left still hungy because I really couldn't find anything that tasted half way decent. Waste of money and will never go back. Just wanted to help others not make the same mistake I did. Ambiance.....I was the only one there and now I know why.

It's really tucked away and off the beaten path where most other businesses are located. I went on a stormy night and was the only person there. Perhaps it was an off night. You could walk up to the counter and order or sit at the table. I decided to sit and eat. I ordered ramen and a sushi roll. The ramen was decent and better than I expected. The egg was cooked perfectly. The sushi roll was just ok. It was incredibly large and hard to eat. I would get the ramen again, but not the sushi if I return. Pros: the staff were extremely nice and the food came out rather quickly Cons: the dining room was quite dimly lit which could be a personal preference, the bathroom was so dirty that I decided not to use it Overall it was just an ok experience. I would possibly consider the food again, but most likely through take out if I did.

We ordered the Bulgogi Fries, Super Crunch Roll, Sesame Chicken with Rice, and Bang Bang Chicken with Rice--and everything was absolutely delicious. The Bulgogi Fries are the perfect mix of crispy fries loaded with tender marinated beef, drizzled with savory sauce, and topped with green onions--it's comfort food with a Korean twist, and we couldn't get enough! The Super Crunch Roll is a sushi lover's dream: crispy tempura shrimp, crab, and avocado rolled and topped with crunchy flakes and a drizzle of sweet eel sauce. The Sesame Chicken was crispy, saucy, and packed with flavor, while the Bang Bang Chicken delivered that perfect sweet-heat combo with a kick. Both rice dishes were generous and satisfying.

This restaurant is really the best kept secret in Atlanta!…read more My family visited here this week for the first time since around 2014 and, despite our fears that it wouldn't live up to the great experience we had then, they EXCEEDED our expectations. We ordered so much and everything was delicious - nothing below an 8/10 in my opinion. We ordered the seafood spring rolls (8/10), crab benigets (8/10 with a special note of originality), and the shrimp appetizer (10/10). Spring rolls- very crispy and flaky, had the "sea floor" variety of seafood inside, flavorful 3 sauces to go with it Crab beignets- a slightly cheesy and airy beignet with a genius crab dip blend. The whole table was surprised on how good it was. Shrimp appetizer- the best "bang bang" shrimp I've had. Shrimps are very large and has a nice fruit salsa to go with. Everyone at the table loved their entrees but I can only truly speak for the ones I tried. Seafood Curry- I will NEVER eat curry anywhere else! I LOVEEEEE THIS CURRY! All the seafood is so fresh, the curry is so flavorful that I literally slurped the rest off my plate. There was also such a variety of veggies in there that were also very fresh and firm (not soggy). For the price especially, you get sooooo much and with such a thoughtful recipe. According to our waitress, it's the only recipe that hasn't changed since the restaurant opened in 2012! Fried chicken - I didn't try the chicken itself, but I did try the Mac and cheese and greens that came with it. Let me tell you, I am very picky about Mac and cheese and this rivals the best Mac and cheese I've had in Atlanta (toast on Lenox)! The greens were also fantastic and flavorful, but a little on the sweet side if that's what your preference is. For dessert, all 4 of us shared one slice of the suspension cake and couldn't even finish it! It was ginormous (literally the size of your head). I won't even go into details- just order it! The ambiance is so intimate and unique- not feeling like an "uptight" boujie restaurant, but curated and thoughtful. They have very nice seating outdoor that is enclosed as well as a beautiful bar area. Lastly, the service is fantastic. I genuinely can't recall my waitresses name, but they speak so highly of the head chef (Calvin) and most have worked there 8+ years, so it really feels like home. I write this review with hesitance because I want this place to remain a secret, but how could I not brag! Book the reservation!
