Bobbi is great and always remembers you, just love them! The fish is always fresh, flavorful, and consist. I tried the Big Kahuna this time and don't know why I've never ordered it before. They really know what they are doing here. There is plenty of outdoor picnic tables and the surf shop has great finds. Very laid back place with quick service. Normal wait time is 10-15 for the freshest food. Sometimes there is a long log for ordering, but the staff here works quickly to get the food out to you. Something like a solid three or four. Was camping next door and needed a break from campfire cooking so gave them a go. Why not? Wasn't feeling like driving into town. Was something like $28 for two tacos and a burrito, no drinks, small tip. Nice looking plump tacos. While everything was fresh and I appreciated the exuberant hospitality, I found the food to be something of somewhat plain; even with the salsas. Also not a fan of thicker, harder chips. Found this food truck by chance after visiting Anastasia State Park. We decided to return the following day to pick up ahi tuna after looking at the menu. It's open from 11 to 3 and seemed to be a popular lunch option for locals in the area. Ordering at the truck was quick and easy; they also allow you to order via the Clover app in advance. The truck is located off A1A and has plenty of parking. In addition to ahi tuna plates, platters and sashimi, they sell different pork/chicken tacos, burritos and sandwiches as well. I had the plain ahi sashimi which came with seasoned rice, fresh tuna slices, and cabbage, soy, wasabi and pickled ginger. I also tried some of the hot sauces they had available at the counter. The raw tuna was great. Although would have been even better with some sort dipping sauce or rice vinegar. The next day we orders the big kaguna whi h came with shoyu poke and Cajun seared ahi tuna. The wife and I got the Tropical and Shoyu Poke bowls. The fish quality and freshness was as good as it gets. The Shoyu tuna gets my vote though, with a little soy and sweetness to amp up the tuna. The Shoyu bowl is heavier on onion as described on the menu. I like that but if you're less inclined to onions, you should opt for the Tropical bowl. The pineapple salsa is the star of that bowl. The marinade balances out the pineapple sweetness just right. The rice was sticky and tasty, and there was just enough cabbage to give it a little crunch. We put a little dipping soy on the side and grab a few shaves of sushi ginger every few bites for a very excellent meal. One final comment, on first blush I was a little concerned, given the size of each bowl. I then recalled the price $10/bowl and adjusted my expectation. The quality more than made up for any size concerns. I figure next time (and there will be a next time), I'll add some tacos or sashimi and keep the bill under $40 for two. read more

Drove to St. Augustine from Winter Park to spend the day with family that was visiting down from NY. When we left Orlando it was 82 and sunny and here we were, stopping to grab some food before exploring and it's windy, 64 degrees and starting to rain... how?! Needless to say, if it wasn't for the delicious food at Nalu's we may have considered the whole trip a complete fail. My daughter, niece and I all ordered the ginger marinated steak quesadillas, I got mine with rice and beans and they got theirs with chips (nachos). My other niece got that ahi burger. The ginger steak was delicious! Great cuts of steak so that you didn't bite in and get those uncomfortable chewy cartilage pieces. I was so hungry and could only literally finish half the quesadilla. If I find myself back in St. Augustine again, this will surely be a stop! Parking is limited here as this is a food truck sharing a lot with other businesses. It's worth finding a spot for though! Solely on the Secret Spot Shrimp Tacos, I was a little disappointed. I'm an avid taco diner, so I always migrate to tacos on any menu and Nalu's taco was a bit of a let down. The shrimp itself was delicious and well seasoned, but for the price and complexity of the taco it wasn't worth it. Stuffed with just raw cabbage on top, shreds of cheese, and a drizzle of Baja sauce for $9.50 was meh. The meal came with a side of chips, which I didn't care for since it didn't automatically come with salsa as I thought. A Flagler College alum wholeheartedly recommended Nalu's to us, so of course we had to check it out on the way into St. Augustine. The Tex-Mex menu is pretty extensive, with sea creatures and land mammals and veggie options, but since a growing line was forming behind us, we quickly decided on the specials of Baja shrimp tacos and tropical shrimp tacos. They were around $9.50 each. You place your order and then just wait until your name is called. There isn't much seating, just two picnic tables behind the truck. Even though you're sitting in a parking lot, handpainted pieces of wood hanging on the fence add charm to the dining area. It did look like most folks were toting their orders away from the area. The tacos were quite impressive. I was satisfied with the amount and size of shrimp in the tacos, cooked perfectly too. Instead of lettuce, there was cabbage. The mango pineapple salsa was lovely. There's a little kick to the tacos but nothing a spice wimp such as myself couldn't handle. I opted for the rice and beans side instead of the chips, and they were pretty delicious as well. The ahi was good. I liked the rice but it didnt stick together so wasn't the easiest to eat and it was very yellow. The cabbage was cabbage. Very fresh poke bowls and light seafood bites are served to you with upmost care and wonderful customer service. The corner seating area is lined with some art pieces that offer it the artsy vibe it embodies. The sauces are great and I can tell they take great pride in their food because I can taste the love. The menu is portrayed in the front so you can take your time and glance before making up your mind on an item. Stopped in after exiting Anastasia State Park I have driven by this place several times and decided to drop in and try them out. We ordered two beef tacos just for a snack turns out it was an excellent choice the presentation although was in a styrofoam container was very appealing to the eyes. The taste was fresh make sure to get plenty of napkins they are a little wet but not soggy. They offer several bottled hot sauces which were tasty as well. Not Hawaii. Went here because of the reviews but we were disappointed. We went here for the Poke on our way to the beach so I can't speak to the other dishes. We ordered both types of Poke: Shoyu and the Tropical Poke. I can say that the tuna is fresh, but the seasoning was just lacking. The Shoyu was not consistently flavored throughout, really salty in some spots and just bland in other spots. The tropical Poke had Mango, but the combo of the mango and onion was weird. My friends and I took a day trip to St. Augustine over MLK weekend. We arrived at lunchtime and decided that the first order of business would be food. I suggested Nalu's, having read the Yelp reviews, and we were not disappointed. First cool thing was that it was conveniently located right near the entrance of Anastasia State Park, which is where we were headed anyway. I ordered the spinach wrap burrito, which I was vaguely worried about as I am generally not a fan of burritos or fish. Fortunately, it was delicious. One of my friends ordered the fish taco, which she seemed to enjoy greatly as well. She was also a big fan of the sauce that came on top of our side of beans and rice. (Sorry, can't remember what my third friend ordered! But he liked it too.) The only complaint I might have is that the rice that came with the beans and rice side seemed a bit dry and hard. The rice inside the burrito, on the other hand, was incredible. My only regret was that I became too full to finish the entire thing. I think Nalu's will become a regular pitstop for us whenever we're visiting the beach. Oh, and one of the reviewers mentioned that they only take cash, which seems to no longer be true. Nalu's is situated right outside of the entrance to Anastasia State Park. Stopped in for some lunch before I checked in at my campsite, and I was delightfully surprised with my meal. I ordered a fish burrito. The rice was moist and flavorful, the beans were creamy and delicious, and the fish tasted great. My only gripe was that for almost 9 bucks, I felt like I should've had a more generous portion of fish. My burrito had only three modest slivers of blackened ono, and while it tasted fantastic, it felt a little skimpy in comparison to the other ingredients. Hook it up a little more with the fish, brother! Maybe I just caught them when they were running low. The baja sauce is amazing. I think it's a mixture of sour cream, blackening seasoning, and lime juice. My girlfriend ordered the fish nachos, and she was skeptical. She ended up loving them and eating the entire plate. She can be a bit picky, so that's really saying something. I'm a big fan of anything taco / tropical / fusian related, and I was happy I gave Nalu's a shot. I was in Anastasia State Park for an event, and asked a friend of mine from the area to recommend a good spot to eat. Without hesitation, she recommended Nalu's. I convinced my group to drive to Nalu's (we were already at another restaurant) and I must say I was disappointed. The fish WAS fresh and cooked well, but everything else was sub par at best. I ordered the pier right tacos and a side of salsa (almost $11). The salsa came in a little plastic container where restaurants put their sauces in. The flavor of the salsa was alright, but definitely not worth the price! The rice that came with my tacos was flavorless and sticky, the beans were hard, my chips were soggy, and the tacos did not have much flavor. The guys in the truck were great, but I think I would have gotten a better taco somewhere else. We left hungry. Cute little taco truck, but unfortunately I fail to see what the hype is about. Edit: I paid a $1 extra for salsa, when the meal was supposed to come with it anyway.
