    Florals by Laura Miller Design

We hosted our intimate wedding reception here recently after getting married at SF City Hall. We had 12 guests total. When I initially inquired about hosting our event, the founder Ko emailed me back right away. He answered my questions and was great about everything. They supply everything that you need plates, silverware, glasses, and you have access to the kitchen or hire a caterer, which is what we did. We decorated the space with florals, and the end result was amazing. The space is in a beautiful Queen Victorian with a large dining area, chef's kitchen, and a beautiful back patio. It is equipped with Sonos, so you can build a playlist through the app. Our guests absolutely loved the venue, and are still talking about it. This was a destination wedding for us, and arranging everything with Ko was a breeze. I highly recommend if you are looking to have something small.

********************* 1311 ********************** I came here for a pop up for Cadence restaurant, soon to be open on Market and 14th Street with chef Joey Elenterio and the Maven team in late June 2015. Absolutely no parking in this area nor valet, so gives yourself plenty of time to circling the blocks. Cute and charming house, nice space, open through the kitchen, a little patio in the back, clean, well kept house by the owner name Ko. Love the art works on the wall, the beautiful fireplace. Come early to get your first choice of seating, I did! The only thing I didn't care for is the 1 bathroom to share with all the guests attending the party. With a few bottle of wines and cocktails, it's difficult to hold it! I'm just saying! The food can be god but it's not warm enough by the time it gets to your table. This is why it's a pop up spot!

The concept of Naked Kitchen only works in a city like San Francisco. Where else would you be able to share a communal, prix fixe meal with 40 other people in a stranger's kitchen and dining room? I was here last weekend for Anthony Yang's Ante Meridian. This was a four course Sunday brunch featuring some interesting combinations including an Asian-inspired main course. My first impression of the space was positive. The open kitchen is what I imagine my future kitchen space to be. The back has a nice outdoor patio for general mingling with like-minded food connoisseurs. We had our choice of seating at the long communal tables since we got there a bit early. Drinks included house coffee and fancy coconut water orange juice. The juice tasted a bit like a creamsicle, but did not make the best juice to mix mimosas with. After people started to trickle in and fill all the seats, we started our meal. First course - coffee granola, organic Straus yogurt, huckleberry pear jam: I loved the freshly made granola and the tang of the fresh yogurt. I think there was even some beets mixed in. Second course - butternut squash, pistachio, ham, and grilled bread: I think this was my favorite course. The butternut squash was so creamy and went wonderfully with the mix of nuts, bacon, and bread. Third course - koshihikari rice porridge, togarashi pork, homemade pickles, poached egg: As an Asian, this was something that was very familiar to me. This was pretty much jook with fancy ingredients. Well done, but nothing to write home to my mother about (she would be unimpressed). Fourth course - black truffle waffles: The meal ended on a high note with these waffles. The batter was made in such a way that they were so airy and light. The black truffles were actually sprinkled into the maple syrup, which set a sweet, but earthy tone. Overall, it was a fun experience with many other fellow foodies. We thanked the chef for a wonderful meal and he sent us off with a doggie bag filled with freshly made waffles!

Can I just say, wow what an awesome dining experience. Went here for Anthony Yang's brunch event and it was spectacular. You enter an old victorian home that is very discreet from the outside. It's easy to miss so make sure that you have the address. It is by advance ticket only, so make sure you purchase your ticket ahead of time. The brunch was a 4 course meal for $40. We purchased the general ticket which lets you sit at a communal table that sits around 8 people. There is complimentary water and coffee, but the event is BYOB so you can bring your own champaign and orange juice if you choose. The food was great, we started with organic yogurt, with coffee granola, braeburn apple, and chestnut mouse. I was nervous that the coffee granola was going to be a little overpowering, but the yogurt's tartness balanced it out. Next was the salad with persimmons, and butternut squash. This was excellent, due to two items, the persimmon and the butternut squash. The ingredients were so fresh and the butternut squash acted as the dressing. Then, we had rice porridge, with pork, homemade kimchi and poached egg. This took on Korean influences and was hearty and gave you a nice balance of salty and savory. The meal ended with the black truffle waffles. I am not typically a waffle person, but this was amazing. The waffles were light and airy, and I was nervous that the truffles would be a weird combination, but man oh man they were awesome. The best part about it, is you can request seconds! The overall concept of this place is great. The idea of having different events with different chefs in a pop up style restaurant is fantastic. I highly recommend this to people for a nice dining experience. You can count on me buying tickets for another event soon!

So i obviously love the concept of a space for chefs to showcase their skills. Caught the latest Fortress of Solitude pop up by Eddie Lau and just unfortunately missed the one by Atelier Crenn sous chef Brian Limoges. Had a great multi course meal with cocktail pairings. The multi bench communal seating allows you to meet other folks and it's cool and unexpected to be in a giant purple house. Drawbacks? If you sit facing the front window the sun shines in your face and the acoustics are way loud. It's like being at a concert at some points. Regardless it's a platform for some good SF cooking talent to do their thing.

When we first got the address we weren't sure if it was the right location as it was set up in a town house. However, this pop up was super adorable, spacious (can accommodate well over 30 people), and well set up. The team was super welcoming and professional with serving the food. We had a 4-course meal and were more than stuffed at the end of the meal. The rice porridge and truffle waffles were my favorite :) We only stayed for an hour since we had a plane to catch. However, the hosts insisted on giving us the full experience and had a speedy service so we could leave on time. Naked Kitchen was definitely one of the highlights of our SF trip

I spent a few hours dancing from 60's-80's music until about 8pm (perfect for an old millennial like me) until the place filled up. Totally great night at Monroe. Even with the club frequently packed, especially the later in the night you go, I find the facilities pretty clean compared to many other similar lounges. It's also conveniently located near late night pizza and crêpe eateries that are still open after Monroe closes for the win, which makes it an all-around no brainer to choose going here versus other venues.

I never heard or been in this location before and I am sure most of you never heard of this place either unless you search for history of the William Randolph Hearst printing press building so many years ago. The building was built in 1926 as a printing plant for the San Francisco Examiner. It is a nice mixed use building like a nice cozy maze to explore the nice layout and architecture of the old print shop.
