You can find NuLa nestled in off the main busy strip of North Water, which is a perfect little hideaway for this nail studio. We walked in and were ushered in immediately to sit down and relax! Kara is one fun young lady. Her spunky attitude and knack for humor with a bit of sarcasm made this visit a treat. She is really a hoot to be around! Between the humor and the hot towels plus the relaxing atmosphere, it was a great way to start our vacation. We had top-notch service and enjoyed the experience overall. We reserved the entire studio so my wife and I could get the royal treatment. Gentle massages and hot water on the feet and lots of wonderful oils and lotions to make the hands and feet feel wonderful Overall, nothing to complain about because we left the studio feeling like a million bucks! I also think NuLa's pricing is very reasonable in comparison to other studios. Such a cool spot to be in just before heading to vacation! I did a dip manicure while she did the Gel-X with cat eye. Making the appointment was really easy. We booked over the phone and through email, and they were quick to communicate. They do require a deposit for artificial nail services. Just be aware of their cancellation policy: artificial nail appointments require 24 hours notice or you forfeit the full service amount, while dip appointments require 2 hours or more. My nail tech, Yohana, was really nice and patient, especially while I debated between two colors. They have quite a few colors for dip to choose from. The technician next to her also gave her input, and I ended up going with the color they recommended. It turned out to be a great choice for fall. My natural nails had cracked on a couple fingers, so we decided to trim those down and add tips while they grew out. The salon itself was clean, bright, and open with plenty of stations. They took their time and didn't rush through the service. One of my nails did break a couple days later, but I was really impressed that they stood behind their work. Their policy is that if a nail breaks, chips, or doesn't last the week, they'll fix it, and they repaired mine for free. I really appreciated that. The technician who did the repair was okay, she was different than my original technician, but wasn't as friendly or talkative and mostly just did the repair and moved on. One thing to keep in mind is pricing. You get a discount for paying cash, while cards have a 3.6% processing fee. I paid about $22 more than I normally pay for dip at my usual salon in cash. Overall, I had a good experience. The salon was clean, and my original tech was kind, patient, and did a good job on my shape. I'd be open to coming back to try their Russian manicure or possibly a pedicure next time.

The cancellation policy online states that if you cancel more than 3 hours before your visit, there isn't an issue, but I wasn't even texted more than 3 hours before, so this wasn't even an option for me. I think this is just a lazy way to get money out of people and reflects poorly on your ability to correspond with clients in a timely fashion.
