This establishment is NOT LGBTQ friendly. My girlfriend and I booked separate appointments at the Salon. Mine was fine, but during her appointment they were extremely rude to us. They constantly misgendered my girlfriend and kept bringing up the topic of her genitals which... Wow, extremely unprofessional. We tried to steer the conversation away, as we were both extremely uncomfortable and on the verge of tears, but they just kept going and expected us to educate them on their ignorance of trans people. I'm nonbinary myself and was hesitant to make my pronouns clear, and I'm very glad I didn't as i doubt I would have been safe. I do not owe you an explanation on my gender, Google exists. In the same breath that they complimented my girlfriend they also misgendered her, saying that we "couldn't get offended" since they were "trying to learn". How one learns by disrespecting the one they're learning about is beyond me. They also have a pride post on their face book declaring their support of the LGBTQ+ community... Despite going on a rant about there being too many labels these days and that it was too complicated for my girlfriend to be called a woman. They excused this by bringing up various family members and friends that were LGBT, as if that absolved them of any blame. They also called me thirty minutes before my appointment (I didn't have my phone on at the time, they only called once) to change the time from 11:30 to 12:15... Without my consent. That was the second time they tried to move my appointment. I would have been fine with it if they had called maybe the day previous or even an hour previous. It would have saved us the embarrassment of walking in and being told that i was early, quite rudely i might add. Also weirdly they brought up the topic of mermaids??? Which cool, but don't shame your customers for not believing in them??? I think mermaids are cool and all but yeah. That was pretty strange, but you do you boo boo. Tldr, they're transphobic and rude. We won't be coming back. read more

The technicians are very transphobic. I was chastised for being a trans woman (my transness was brought up out-of-the-blue by the techs) and was ridiculed for having the audacity to be uncomfortable with such a hostile situation. I was continuously misgendered throughout my sessions, even after the techs provided a phony, self-serving "apology" where they didn't actually apologize for anything and made themselves out to be the victims of the situation which, again, they started. I was visibly holding back tears, and they wouldn't stop harassing me. Either "we can always tell" doesn't apply to everything, or the cruelty is the point. You decide. If you're transgender, then Goddess Nails and Spa is not a safe or welcoming place for you. If you consider yourself an ally of trans people, then put your money where your mouth is and get your nails done somewhere else. The techs talk shit about previous clients right in front of you. During my session, I heard them call other clients "hoes" and "ugly people." I'm sure they're calling me "that ugly man in a dress" as we speak; if only all the gross men catcalling and hitting on me got the memo that, according to the Gospel of Goddess Nails and Spa, I'm nothing more than an "ugly man in a dress." Bizarrely, they were also weirdly aggressive toward me for... not believing in the existence of mermaids (???). And of course they were the ones who brought it up. Bizarre and unpleasant people all around. Also, my appointment time was moved twice without my consent, and they never apologized for that. And you can get better pricing anywhere in the area. Purely as it pertains to the art of nailwork, yeah, the techs are talented. But a lot of nail techs are talented and manage not to be transphobic pieces of shit who harass their clients about their genitals to their faces and while calling other clients ugly hoes behind their backs. Get your nails done somewhere run by decent people, not at Goddess. read more

I started going to Goddess Nails about 5 months ago for my wedding and I have been going back every 2-3 weeks ever since. My nails always end up looking amazing! I have a hobby that is pretty rough on my nails, but they stay strong. The owner, Nina, is always friendly with her clients, greeting us with a "hello, gorgeous", and she is funny as hell. I've seen a few different nail techs, and the one that I've seen most recently, Coco, is new to the shop but shaped my nails amazingly. If you want cute, flashy, extra looking nails, you need to come here. If you want simple nails, I mean come here too. All the staff makes you feel comfortable. I attached my wedding nails, but as soon as I remember, I'll take a pick of my most recent nails too. I can't wait to see this business grow! read more
