I had a some small electrical problems I had been putting off. But when all the lights went out in the bathroom, it was time to do something. I called Gaston because he was close, and I knew the travel time would be short. He got there in fifteen minutes, and this is without it being an emergency! He fixed the bathroom and the other things that weren't working. He was quick, professional, and friendly. That's a really pleasant combination. I feel lucky that I called Nair. read more

Nair Electrical Corp is reliable, professional and highly qualified for jobs at all levels, from complex to simple. They are always taking new courses to stay abreast of changes in their field of work and ensure their clients meet these safety standards. They operate with the highest level of integrity and they are cost effective. We have been using this company for more than 10 years and never had a situation where we had to call them back to address any issue for a job they had completed. They collaborate with other contractors (carpenter, builder etc) who were also working on our premise to ensure they both work effectively and seamlessly together. They communicate extremely well ... simplify complex discussions for all to fully understand. We highly recommend Nair. read more

2 fixtures and an outlet were not working. He came within an hour on a Sunday! Fixed the problem quickly for the estimated cost . Also, he installed a difficult hood bulb gratis. Will definitely use again read more

I have had a mysterious electrical problem on a relatively new line for several years. I have had electrical contractors estimate extremely expensive repairs involving new lines and chipping through a tile wall. Nair did a thorough diagnosis and was able to fix the problem in a few minutes with an 6" length of wire! I could not be happier!! They are experienced, knowledgable, thorough, fast, reasonably priced and nice. I highly recommend! read more

I called Nair to install pod lights in both the kitchen and living room area of my apartment. Gaston came the same day to look and quote me a price. After agreeing on the price we quickly set up a schedule for the work to be done in a few days to my surprise. The work done was amazing and I couldn't be happier with the look and work done in one day! I definitely Nair electrical for any needs you may have in your apartment or house as the level of professionalism and work is first class. Gaston and his assistant wore masks and were very accommodating to any needs we had while keeping the work and any mess to a minimum. read more

I must say he is a skilled and competent electrician. I only wish he would have made me aware of all my possible options before beginning the job which involved changing a wall box and replacing the switch within. He quoted one price range over the phone, but it was higher when he came and saw it. Being given a receipt changed the price to include additional sales tax, and cash was his only form of payment. I think these terms should be made clear before arrival. I only wish his business acumen was as good as his electrical skills. read more

gaston is the best this happened last night, july 2nd. at 11 pm on the saturday before 4th of july. we went out all day, came home. 10 minutes later, power went out but only for our apartment. my gf is on dialysis, so her equipment needs power to function. by the time i got access to the basement, it was well after midnight. found gaston on yelp, he picked up almost immediately and in under 1 hour he was here. fixed the problem quickly, helped us out TREMENDOUSLY. if gaston had not been available we would have been in a terrible situation. after midnight on a holiday weekend? only a good hearted soul would come through in a time of need like this, saved us a hotel stay, an entire refrigerator's worth of food, plus difficulties with dialysis!! read more

Had a partial power outage on Sunday morning. Gaston came promptly and repaired the part. Very responsive and fair with the price. Gaston did not leave until he made sure all my electric- including heat was back in order. Will definitely call again and really appreciate the service. read more

I reached out regarding a light switch issue and got a response immediately. Within an hour, the electrician was here. His rate was fair and he did a great job fixing the issue. Highly recommended. read more

These guys worked out perfectly! I had an office emergency & needed the electrical issue to get fixed ASAP. They arrived within one hour of me speaking w/ someone & then had the electrical issue resolved w/in about 30-45 minutes after arriving. Overall, very professional & informative. I'll definitely keep them in mind should I ever have any further electrical issues moving forward. Thanks again! read more

Over the weekend minding my own business half of the electricity goes out in my home. Naturally the effected part included the circuits to my boiler so not heat or hot water Saturday night into Sunday. Went on Yelp and found Nair Electriical Corp and they said they had Sunday hours. Having nothing to lose, called the number and Gaston answered the phone, explained my problem and he said he would be here within the hour. True to his word, calls me and hes here, goes to basement circuit breaker boxes and checks the voltage and quickly determines it was a Con Ed issue and gave us a temporary fix meaning heat, hot water and all lights are working. He even called Con Ed explained the problem and got us a ticket for a tech to permanently resolve the problem. So miracles do happen on Sundays and I would not hesitate using Nair Electrical again if the situation arose. read more

Came and installed hanging lights and wall sconces. Did the work quickly, safely and efficiently. I would work with again!

He came very quickly and solved our problems very thoroughly. He found some other problem that we didn't know existed and could have caused a major headache, and was able to fix it. Could see that he's very experienced and knowledgeable. Highly recommended. read more

Gaston arrived within 2 hours of my call, even a little earlier than he had predicted. Does mostly same-day work. He checked out two different problems, was very patient and provided information as he was doing his assessment. Reasonably priced. read more

Customer Service needs work. Hung up the phone while I was explaining about the work that I needed. Nasty individual

Customer service????? I called them on Friday and I was told they'd try to come on Friday. They called and told me they'd come around 230PM. I had to leave for an emergency at work at 3, when the tech showed up and I told him I wasn't here but I left someone to show him what needs to get done his response was " You gotta be kidding me, why are you wasting my time? I'm not going to go and deal with someone I haven't spoken to". I explained my emergency but he insisted that I was wasting his time. At that point i told him with that attitude I didn't want him working for me or anyone I know. His attitude sucked and I don't recommend them ever. Electricians are dime a dozen. If i could I'd give him negative STARS. read more

Customer Service???? I'm going to be honest. Never had this guy do any work as I fired him before he even got started. Called him on a Saturday for an 11am Sunday appointment. Up until then it was all good. So this guy arrives and we start going through the 2 ceiling light fixtures and a ceiling fan instal (and moving it about 1.5 ft - so moving the box etc). - but not patching up or anything - just rewiring and mounting. He first starts off by telling me to move the box and install the fan is going to be $275. huh. higher than I expected, but okay. Then he looks at the ceiling lights and tells me it's $175 for the first hour and $50 for each additional HALF hour (=$100/hr)....wowzers. I start doing the math....$275 + $175...we haven't even started and I'm in it for $550?? .... This job is taking him a max of probably, what, like 3hrs? That comes to an hourly rate of $183 per hour...WTF? Lawyers charge that kind of money. Wow, I must have hired the BEST fricking electrician in NYC man. What really killed me was that after he gives me this premium pricing, he then proceeds to also give me push back on the lights I wanted to install. Crazy. Look, get a clue man, if I'm paying you $183/hour your only answer is "YES, I can totally do that for you." and find a way to make it happen. Sheesh. How do you stay in business? read more

I highly recommend Nair. My circuit breaker panel starting having problems (a loose breaker was causing other circuits to turn on and off) on a Saturday. Gaston picked up the phone, provided a quick "guesstimate", came over in a few hours, and fixed the issue. No fuss, no hassle, no problems. read more

Needed a ceiling fan installed and light switched changed. Gasteon, the electrician, was there when he said he'd be and worked hard to make sure the job was done to my satisfaction. He also gave me a 15% discount for finding him through the website. Decreasing the amount of time necessary for the installation, 3 hrs, would have earned a 5th star but I'm happy enough to go back and employ his services for future jobs. read more

Love this company, which I never thought I'd say about an electrician. He is skilled and trustworthy. Who could ask for anything more?!

The technician, Guston, came on time on a Saturday morning (on a short notice, without charging us an emergency fee, which other electricians have quoted us) and fixed everything very quickly and efficiently. It was also convenient that he had some light switches with him so he was able to replace my old one without me having to go buy it myself. He also took the time to explain how certain things work and showed me how to test my outlets and lights so that next time I can do this myself instead of spending hundreds of dollars. Overall, a very pleasant experience and I would definitely use them again and would recommend to others. read more

Gaston is reliable and efficient. Today we blew a fuse when we were installing a new dimmer in the bathroom. He came within an hour as he promised even on a Sunday and figured out what the problem was and fixed it pretty quickly. I couldn't ask for better service. He is also available 24 hours 7 days a week. Use him especially if you are in south Brooklyn since he is located on Smith Street. read more

By far one of the most professional workers I have had the pleasure watching. work. A true master of his craft. The night before easter I flipped a 100 amp breaker for the last time. I called these guys and within a short time a master electrician showed up with a 100 amp breaker. Unfortunately my panel was obsolete and it cost 1400 to replace it. After it was replaced outlets and switches long thought dead came back to life. I will definitely call again read more

Last Wednesday I called to make an appointment. Was told they were busy through Saturday with a school project but that they could do the following week. How about Tuesday? Yes, they said, no problem. Just call us the day before. So on Monday I called. Asked if I could make an appointment for Tuesday. Yes, that is fine, they said. Just text us with your name, address and requested time. I texted. And waited. And went to bed. And woke up on Tuesday. My text was unanswered. Just called now, mid-morning and it was like we had never spoken. Oh no, I was told, we don't take appointments for the afternoon. Huh?? read more

I ran into a problem when I tried to relocate a switch and outlet. I got confused by some wiring. I was in a hurry to get this fixed since we needed get the room finished. I searched Yelp.com and found Nair Electrical in our area. I contacted him and got a response right away. The next day Gaston came over and fixed our issue right away. I was able to use my credit card. There was another small job, I needed to put up a fixture with a new switch and he was able to do that while he was there. Unlike other contractors he was not in a rush to leave, he made sure I was happy with the work and he cleaned up himself. Many contractors leave their trash behind. I plan to use him again and again. Rates are reasonable but always ask how much a job will cost before agreeing to the terms of the price, and use the coupon when you can. read more

Gaston Stephenson (the electrician) came the same day to inspect our panel, quickly gave us an estimate and replaced it with a few days. He was the only company that measured the existing panel so he could get a replacement that fit in the narrow wall space that our panel was located (everyone else only asked for pictures). He was professional, his prices fair and we would recommend him. read more

Nair Electrical Corp - Work done - Electricians Near Me - Brooklyn, New York

Funny thing; just got a call from Gasteon at Nair Electric. My review below must have just come to his attention and was adamant about never having worked for me. That was until I pulled out my diary and gave him the date, time and canceled check number he was paid with made out to CASH. read more

Do not go with Nair. I am surprised at the past positive reviews given my negative experience. I hired him to simply diagnose and fix a faulty breaker to an Ac unit. He charged me a surprisingly exorbitant fee - $250+tax for less than 30 minutes - up from the usual $175/hr as apparently it was a problem of a 'commercial' nature. (He separately offered to 'diagnose' my ac problems as well for a low price of $500, and I refused.) Which I suppose I might have been ok with had the problem been fixed as he claimed. Unfortunately it was not and the reset on the breaker worked only sporadically. Not only did the experience cost me his fee but also fees for additional visits from hvac technicians, as they were unable to later properly diagnose problems with the ac unit when the breaker was not functioning well. I called him again, but he refused to rectify the issue or stand behind his work. So 1 star for a bad combination - aggressive on charging fees, but failing to stand behind his work. read more

Had a ceiling box installed and ran wire to a plug/switch through the walls. Gaston did a fantastic job for a reasonable price and did it very quickly. I would highly recommend Nair, they really came through for me! read more

Gaston was great! We had an open circuit in our overhead kitchen florescent lighting; we thought it was blown bulbs, but it just wouldn't turn on. Called Gaston the night before and he arrive on time and fixed within the hour (after some pretty heavy duty investigation). Pricing is fair. read more

Gaston did a terrific job for us. We needed an outlet relocated for a new above-range microwave and he did the job professionally and quickly. When the appliance installers came and decided that they didn't express their desired location properly, Gaston came back and relocated it again at our convenience and considered it a follow-up to the original work. He didn't pull a shady move and charge for a second job. He also worked with our carpenter to help take apart our kitchen cabinets. We understood right away that Gaston puts a higher premium on doing the job correctly than making a short-term profit. We highly recommend Gaston and Nair Electrical and he'll be our go-to guy for any work we need done in the future. read more

Plugged an old appliance into an old outlet and saw a big scary spark, the entire house went dark and my phone had 10% battery left and my hair full of conditioner. I called the fire department and they did not want to turn back on my lights because of safety reasons. They told me to call an electrician. I called about 4 different places/handy men from yelp and none of the places were able to make it out but thankfully I came across Nair and they were wonderful. Someone picked up the phone asked me a few questions and had someone out to me in 30 mins! I felt so comfortable with the electrician that was here. He fixed the problem and my lights are back on. This company is professional and licensed which gives it a perfect rating! read more

Nair Electrical Corp - Reciept of electrical work - Electricians Near Me - Brooklyn, New York

Just had Gaston come and not only was he here within the hour for my electrical troubleshooting issue, he located and repaired an electrical issue that I did not know I had that could have potentially been something I would have to deal with in the future. Very patient and precise when working to make sure the job is done right. I don't usually write reviews but he deserves the praise for his work. read more

Nice and reliable guy but... it took two visits, 5 hours of work in total and a $900 bill... to find one outdoor electrical outlet that was rusted and creating a short. What was more disappointing is that the same outlet creating the problem was apparently tested during the first visit but deemed in good working order (not sure how that happened). When at the end of the second visit we discovered by luck where the problem was coming from (we heard a pop in the faulty outlet while testing something else) I pointed out that the issue should/could have been identified the first time around if tested properly and as a result I politely asked for a break; my request received no consideration - "my time is my time" I was told. I respect that. But so here it is: 2 stars and I am tempted to add "my opinion is my opinion" so be it. read more

I had no power in my bedroom or office, and thanks to the work of other shoddy electricians I also had no power in my kitchen and bathroom. All hope seemed lost and I was cooking in 95° weather and no power anywhere going to my AC. These guys showed up after 1 hour of calling them on a Saturday afternoon, correctly identified which fuse was blown, and restored the partial power to my kitchen and bathroom. He also gave me insight into why the other rooms didn't have power - a former tenant had installed a ceiling light and fan and wired it all wrong. Overall a great experience, would use again! read more
