On October 4th, I visited the salon for a basic manicure and pedicure service, requesting only standard nail polish -- no French manicure, gel, or other enhancements. Unfortunately, the services I received did not meet even a reasonable standard of care or professionalism. Specifically, the manicure was poorly executed, with visible polish on my cuticles and an overall uneven, untidy appearance. Additionally, despite allowing the recommended drying time before leaving the salon, the polish on both of my big toes was improperly set. Within two hours, the polish had visibly shifted and appeared smudged and deformed. Given the substandard quality of the services provided, this experience was a complete waste of both time and financial resources! I would NOT recommend this place to anyone. Came here looking for a last minute pedicure right before a long holiday weekend. Only good thing was they were able to get us in without much of a wait. I paid $59 (before tip) for a gel pedicure without anything special, my normal place I get paraffin wax on my heels and hot stones for $45, this place - none of that. The girl doing my pedicure used a super rough file to remove my old gel polish taking skin off two of my toes in the process. She got gel everywhere and because of this most of my toes are already missing huge chunks of gel and look terrible 5 days later when I can usually stretch my gel a solid 6 weeks. read more

I should have read the reviews before I came here. I brought my own Dazzle Dry and the owner wanted to charge me the same amount as if I didn't bring it. She said it is a special skill. There are no nail salons in the Mercer area I have found that are decent and who give a "spa experience." I understand it's hard to find nail techs during a pandemic, but everything is opening back up now. I have many complaints. People with nut allergies beware. A few important tips to mention. - The pedi chairs being super uncomfortable. I asked for a pillow and they had me Change the seat after I had take my shoes and socks off. No I do not want to walk on the dirty and cold floor with bare feet! Not a comfortable experience. The chair they changed me to was also broken. - The water temp. When I put my foot into the water, I removed it super fast, due to the water being burning hot! Hotter than a hot tub. -The woman they paired me with was the only one not wearing a mask. I asked if she could please put a mask on. The owner (a tall Asian woman) said we have this glass between you and her, you will be fine. We can't require her to wear a mask now. She wiped her nose and continued to touch things prepping for my pedicure. (I should have left or asked for someone else!) Some customers weren't wearing masks but Eve other worker was. In my opinion if the customer comes in wearing a mask, either have the employee wear a mask or pair the customer with someone who is. She seemed super annoyed by my requests to be comfortable. -The "spa vibe" was not present and I felt like I wanted to leave a few times. (Shame on me for not leaving. It would have saved me so much unnecessary stress)! I asked for a spa menu which she didn't offer me. (I should have taken this as a sign, the girl doing my pedi wasn't "spa trained"). I asked if I could read the ingredients to their spa package lotions and scrubs as I have a nut allergy. (Which isn't uncommon‍) I couldn't do the spa pedi but elected to have a 20min extra massage, bad idea! I had already expressed I had allergies to lotions and if they could please use oil instead. One of the owners/manager (an Asian woman) said, Yes the oil is okay. Use the oil. I said to the girl in Spanish oil only. Using my Google translator. -Spa experience disregard: My eyes were closed because the lights were bright and I was trying to relax. The woman disregards my request which was, 5 min prior while speaking Spanish to her coworker about me, and started to use the lotion anyway. As soon as the lotion was applied I broke out in hives, I said.. no no no! Oil only! She continued to massage. I said stop stop stop. Please pay attention to what you are doing! This I said in Spanish: (this is not okay! I am allergic to the lotion. Remember!? I asked you to please only to use oil!!?! ....she said sory sorry habit! Habit! I said, Please pay attention to what your doing!) (! ¡esto no esta bien! Soy alérgico a la loción. ¡Te dije solo aceite! ) She looked shocked at me. I said yes, I can understand Spanish, I used my translator to make sure I was saying the words properly because I thought you didn't understand what I said before!? Instead of talking badly about me, the customer your servicing, maybe you should actually care about your job and what you are doing!? You have caused me to have hives! I don't understand!? This is not okay! She said okay sorry sorry let me get the hot towel. I said no no hot towel will make the allergen absorb into the skin faster! I said we need to wash this off. She rolled her eyes and sprayed ice cold water at my legs. She said you said hot was bad!? I said a hot towel compress rubbing the nut oils from the lotion deeper into my skin would be bad!!! Come on really? She started speaking to her coworker again. Very fast Spanish and rolling her eyes. I'm not in the beauty industry, but Am in the hospitality industry. I know what it takes to be decent at least in customer service and in the hospitality world. I only write reviews like this if they are absolutely necessary. One of the managers came over and said something to her. Then said to me, next time bring your own lotion if you have so many allergy! I said to her, I checked before the massage to make sure I could use the oil. Remember!? We all agreed on the oil. This was not my fault. This is not okay! I'm sorry but This is really not okay! She didn't listen to what she was asked to do. I should have got up and left! But the message comes before the painting of the toes. I'm an idiot for not leaving after so many re flags! So just stopped here for a pedicure because I'm waiting for my car to get serviced at the Pepboys down the street. The only thing good is the massage they give you during the pedicure. Otherwise everything else is awful. The most disgusting thing is as I was getting my feet done, my pedicurist was looking for a foot scrubber/buffer thing and grabs it out of the recently drained tub from the chair next to me. I really should have just said something at that point but I was seriously in shock and was already having an awful weekend as my new tires popped on the NJ turnpike (how I ended up in the area in the first place). Anyway, how sanitary is that?! And if they don't sanitize that before using it on me, what do they not sanitize. I don't even want to think about it as I might give myself an anxiety attack. Ugh. Just dropped in today and was seated very quickly. Generally, a nice atmosphere and good reading material. Ended up getting a much needed midsummer pedicure. The nail ladies were pleasant, although what's a nail place without a little talking-about-you-right-in-front-of-you-in-a-language-they-think-you-don't-know. "Ohhh... muchacha muy alta" is a phase that even I could decipher. The pedicure was pretty good. The massage was, indeed, great, but I was a little disappointed by the attention to detail with the polish. I hate to succumb to my mother's ways, but I had to point out the nail polish that was all around my big toes. I am not impressed with Nailzone. I have been going here with my mom since high school. We would always get pedicures, which were great. However, I had multiple times where I would hear the woman doing the pedicure speaking about me in Spanish to another pedicurist. This made for an awkward experience. I came to think that this was a normal occurrence in nail salons. This is sad and I am happy to know now that I was wrong. It also has not changed over the years, as I went there a couple of weeks ago and heard one of the women speaking about another customer. I find this so unprofessional to be doing in front of customers. When I was there a couple weeks ago, I opted for a gel manicure as well. This was my first gel mani from them and I was not pleased. First, the woman doing my nails had to remove my previous gel manicure. She basically filed off half of my nail. Second, halfway through my manicure, one of the nails smudged (this should not even be possible with a gel). Once it was completed, it looked fine. However, when I went to my local nail salon in Massachusetts to have another manicure, I was shocked to see that the polish that was used had stained my nails. I was told that this happens when the polish that is used is not good. Luckily, my usual nail salon was able to fix this. I will not be going back to Nailzone for a manicure and will try to find a new place for my me and my mom when I am visiting her. read more

If I were getting my nails done for my own funeral and Nail Zone was booked i would just have to wear gloves. 100/100 on my gel extensions, I've literally never seen better nails than the ones on my fingers right now. Lisa who did my nails was really nice and friendly however the experience was not great. It was a bit chaotic there when I went, could have been just a busy time. I went for a fill -in and pedicure. When she cut my nails down, she didn't check to see if they were even on both hands so my nails ended up different lengths between both hands but also longer on some fingers than others on the same hand. The shape and filing do not look professional. I got them square but they were wide at the tips and not really straight. When she was done I had clear nail polish clumped under my nails and just filings clumped underneath. She tried to file some off when I mentioned it but I still ended up removing the rest on my own. The acrylic was also left too thick and looked unnatural. Overall, for a $50 fill in (or any manicure) I was highly disappointed. I usually go to Wonder Nails in Princeton which always has beautiful results and my fill in is never more than 40 even after designs. I came here bc I was given a gift card. DISASTROUS SERVICE! I had been to Nailzone for normal manicure and pedicure. The pedicure is very good, but the manicure was never very satisfying. After finally finding a good place for both in Princeton, I stopped going there for a while. Turns out I had a trip and wanted to have a full set before going, and the only place available was Nailzone. It was a complete DISASTER, i really wish I had never done it. Besides visually really not good, in less than a week TWO of the nails fell off. When I went there to fix them, they offered to color ONLY THE TWO fixed nails, which of course left me with two different colors in my hands (I could not recall the first one). When I said I wanted all of them colored again, they insisted I paid for that, which means they made even more money on top of an awful service, and felt no embarrassment for that. Two days later another nail fell off, but I just decided to take all of them off in my usual salon, just to avoid the bad service and bad faces due to my complaint. I honestly cannot understand all of these negative reviews. This is a low-priced, no-frills nail shop in a strip mall off the side of Route One. Are you expecting spa treatment? Perfect ambiance? If that's what you want, then GO PAY FOR IT. I came in here as a walk-in and was taken to my pedicure right away. My pedicurist, Julia, listened attentively to all my requests, followed them perfectly, and did a lovely job. She really took her time and didn't make me feel rushed at all. The pedicure area smelled a little odd, but it wasn't overwhelming or anything. Then I was taken right away for an eyebrow wax, which was done quickly, professionally, and very well by Jay. Again, she listened to all my requests and did a great job with it. She also did my manicure and again did a lovely job, not rushing in the slightest. I'm surprised by all the recent negative reviews of NailZone. I went several years ago and honestly, at the time, was not impressed. Went back last weekend because it's so close and convenient and was blown away. Best pedicure I've ever gotten. They massage your feet for 10 minutes for one thing. Anywhere else, this costs extra money and you wind up with a 20 second massage. They also used hot stones at the end which was amazing. My nails still look awesome a week later.... Update to reflect pedicure experience: I walked in yesterday with a friend for pedicures and we both had a great experience. We were served right away and the chair massages were wonderful. The ladies helping us were very nice and did a great job. The leg massages were fabulous!! They took their time and our toes look super. My friend somehow smudged her polish walking to the drying table but they fixed it right away with no complaints. The only thing I wish they would change is how the handle tips. 1) I wish I could put it on my credit card. 2) I wish I could put the cash in an envelope with the employee's name on it and leave it at the front desk (like other salons). Instead you have to already have enough cash with you and you have to hand it directly to the person who worked on you. Our experience with this yesterday was slightly embarrassing and had we been able to handle it with envelopes or just on our credit cards, I would given this 5 stars!! read more

The woman who did mine was cordial enough, but literally talked to other employees the entire time and wasn't paying attention to my feet in the process.
