One of the newer technicians was extremely rough and trimmed my nails far too short. I told her several times that her digging into the side of my nail was extremely painful. I asked her to stop, and she rushed through the polish. By the next morning, my toe was red, swollen, and throbbing. Now that I'm on antibiotics and the swelling has gone down, I can clearly see the open wound where she was scraping and clipping. I emailed the salon and left a message for the owner, but I've received no response, which is incredibly disappointing after so many years of loyalty. Usually two hours with removal at other salons. My tech seemed nervous and novice. Other patrons had full, decorative sets with tips started and finished during my appointment window. Stuff was getting wiped off my nails like she forgot the order (which can give you a gel allergy), and the gel was so lumpy and thick it had to be filed down. I'm generally really people-pleasing and tried to be understanding, but wanted to cry after my appointment. "Sorry" from your tech gets old after 5+ hits and a cut that keeps bleeding. She disappeared towards the end of my appointment, and the receptionist offered me a $20 ring from the accessories table when I checked out as consolation. I asked if I could get $20 back on the service instead and was told no. I tipped because I felt bad this girl might lose her job but I really feel she shouldn't be licensed.
