Hello! I was looking for a new salon for my no chip manicure/pedicure services. Came across Nails by Zoe with such nice reviews. So, I decided to make an appointment for a no chip mani/ pedi. After, making the appointment I called to make sure I had selected the right services. I called twice no answer. So, I decided to call to make sure. I called twice no answer. I sent a text message explaining the purpose of my call. Moments later I get an email canceling my appointment. I'm not sure how they got the great reviews. But that was totally unprofessional. I wouldn't dare recommend anyone that can't at least answer the phone for their business. read more

just moved to south loop and wanted to find a new salon.made an appt online, receptionist called and asked if i had no chip on my nails which i did. she said in this case appt will be canceled because zoe don't take somebody else polish off . i was expecting to pay 5 bucks or something to get it removed. that's how it normally is in different salons. so if you are a new client, then you have to go somewhere , get polish removed, and only then you can come to their salon. bizarre. receptionist was rude too. read more

Zoe is super fantastic! She has an online scheduling system where you just confirm that you're coming for your appointment. The space is a separate room in ZiZi Esthetics, so it's really nice and private. She is very gentle when she pushes back and trims your cuticles. Also, there were several colors I was deciding between, including two shades of red. She put the colors directly onto my nails, so I could see the difference between them; I've never had a salon do this. We had a great conversation, but I'm certain that if you wanted a quiet relaxing experience she'd be willing to accommodate you too. I'm looking forward to coming back. I am so glad I found this place on Yelp, Zoe is amazing!! I scheduled a TLC pedicure and it was worth every penny. I am very particular about my pedicures, service and pricing. I was very pleased from the moment I walked in until I left. Zoe is so nice and professional. I go to salons for peace and great service and that was exactly what I received. The venue Zoe is located at is nice and clean. Zoe greeted me at the door and introduced herself. I don't yelp AT ALL, but when I do it's when things are either GREAT or TERRIBLE. This was my first visit to get my nails done by Zoe and I was greeted graciously by Zoe herself, she took my jacket and then led me to her own private room! There is nothing I love more than being able to really "escape" when I go to get my nails done. (I can't wait to get a mani/pedi but was trapped with time this day... it seems as if it would be such a serene experience, truly relaxing!) One of the things that continues to stick out to me was Zoe's ability to relate and bring conversation to the table. I'm more of the "leave me alone" while I'm getting my nails done type but when you can talk to someone and relate on a majority of topics; I'm game for conversation. Being a part of the service industry as well; I greatly appreciate someone who also works in it, understands it and respects it. Although it was my first time getting my nails done by Zoe, I held off on my review (even though I wanted to post one right after my appointment to see how the no-chip held up). I am a server, and CONSTANTLY washing my hands along with having a bad case of the hang-nails and still no chips! Not even a scuff! Zoe was more than informative on a number of products to use to try and help and I found that very comforting that she knew what worked and what I was using could be switched and show better results. DO NOT let me forget to mention the online-booking... LOVEEEEEEE IT! No phone calls, no talking, just a few quick clicks and boom you have your appointment followed by a confirmation email! In the end, not feeling rushed to get out of the chair due to someone who walked in and the manager not pushing Zoe to hurry up in order to serve a walk-in instead of finishing my nails was GREAT. I appreciate the reservation service provided, and find that Zoe has embraced her "art" and all that surrounds it. OVERALL..... I've been searching for a nail salon that was on the south side. Although it is south loop, the street parking was easy and I didn't have to fuss with the Drive or 90/94 to get there - so that automatically gets bonus points. WARNING - Zoe is a perfectionist and isn't going to rush through your treatment and give you poor quality nails. Although the session was longer than what I'm use to in the loop - my nails and toes have never looked and felt so cared for and beautiful. I am definitely going to make this my "go to" place and praise her talents to all! read more

I'm a suburbanite new to the South Loop area so I've been learning about the "who's who" in the business world through Yelp. I found Zoe via a nail salon search and was able to get a same day appointment for a pedicure. Her online appointment scheduling worked with ease. The salon is tucked away on State St., so if you are not actively paying attention you may miss it because there is limited signage. The salon has private suites so the pedicure is performed behind closed doors. The suite was very clean and cozy. The spa chair was comfortable and offered a nice massage. I neglected my feet for a couple of months so I got a special treatment for callous removal. Zoe was able to get my feet pretty darn close to baby soft and they are still soft a month after my pedicure. Her nail shaping and polish job was very neat. Again, it's been a month since my last visit and my polish is still "blinging" like I just left the salon. Zoe was very professional and friendly. I believe she said she's been in her business close to 20 years so she has the experience and knows what she's doing. I love supporting small businesses, especially those owned by women. I hope that Zoe reads this so that other new customers don't have the same experience. She may be fantastic once you experience her services but I never got that opportunity. I made an appointment online and received an email confirmation. I showed up at the appointment on time. She opened the door, said "hi," and stared at me like I was coming to her house to sell her something. There was no greeting, no "nice to meet you, have a seat, I'll be with you in a moment." Nothing. I asked if she was Zoe (honestly I wasn't sure since I was getting the blank stare), she said yes and then quickly disappeared into a room. I was left standing there so I found a seat in the waiting room and waited. And waited. And waited. There was a woman walking around that I assumed was her assistant. After 20 minutes I asked the assistant to ask Zoe how much longer she would be and I was told 15-20 minutes. Had it not been for the email confirmation I would have thought I had come at the wrong time or day. Unfortunately I had a hair appointment so I couldn't wait that long to start my nail appointment. I told the assistant that I had to leave and her response? "You're going to be really sorry. You're missing out on a great manicure." The reality is that there are lots of places to get a good manicure in Chicago. In addition, there are lots of places that treat their customers with respect and value their time. So, no, I'm not "missing out." The real person who's missing out is Zoe. She just lost a cash paying client who gets manis and pedis all the time, and who decided to give a neighborhood small business a chance. She may have amazing skills but I assume that she has all the clients she needs/wants and is not looking to expand. In all fairness, she did send me an email apology later that day and offered to give me a free manicure. That was a nice gesture. But, honestly, I think I would have been more impressed if she had informed me that she was running 30 minutes late when I got there OR when I told her assistant I had to leave, she would have communicated with me while I was standing there that she was sorry for the delay. Unfortunately, I won't be taking her up on her offer to return. read more
