I found my nail technician to be dismissive and disrespectful. Note to staff: speaking poorly about clients (in any language) that are paying you for your service is unkind and unwise. Do not presume we don't understand. My experience was regrettable as I was told that the owner of the salon is gracious and professional. I scheduled a pedicure appointment for noon and arrived on time. I was asked to pick my nail color and then returned to the front and told by the front desk receptionist to sit and wait. My nail technician, Mindy, who does an excellent job - called me back - although 20 minutes after my appointment time - and started the water while mentioning she was finishing her other customer. When starting my pedicure, the front desk receptionist called her and she stopped my pedicure to go and fix her previous customers toe nail polish. A couple minutes later the same receptionist - started the pedicure bath for two customers, mentioned something over and over to the tech working on my pedicure and my pedicure sped up...completed and she rushed to the pedicure bath of one of the other two customers. I've traveled the world and had pedicures done in all types of places and location and have never experienced any forms of blatant racism. The front desk receptionist did not provide the same service to me, did not start my bath and or provide the same treatment of the two other customers. And while myself and the other customers are different colors - our money is the same color. I do not recommend this place - it's beautiful but the front desk receptionist made it a nightmare. read more

The place is super expensive. $50 for a gel pedicure. If you decide to get a powder manicure they don't clean up any cuticles. The would charge you extra but you have to ask them to. I was very shocked when I heard they don't clean up the cuticles first. It's not a professional job. My technician was not to familiarized with powder manicure because she was trying to convince me to get a gel manicure as she made my nail very bulky. Now I am stuck with this ugly manicure. Within being there for only a few minutes she told me if I didn't want her to be my technician find someone else. I can't believe it took me 5 years(moving here from N) to find a fabulous salon/spa for my manicures, pedicures and foot reflexology . The last 6-8 places I went, destroyed my nails, cuticles, heels and one didn't even offer cream or foot massage. I made an appointment through a referral with Van. I love this place. Lisa is my main nail technician. She is super efficient and classic. My acrylic overlay and gel polish last 3 weeks if I need to push out my every 2 week appt. I don't experience chipping or lifting on my nails. I'm not big on designs and she is a perfect fit for me. I trust her so much and often let her do her own thing and pick colors for me. I have seen another technician whenever she's not available or I have to reschedule. The quality of the products used in the salon are great. The regular OPI polish from my pedicure doesn't budge at all. No chipping. The salon is extremely clean. No chemical smells. There are vents in the wall by every station. Genyfer does my lashes and she kills it. I have very curly lashes and she makes the extensions undetectable. This is my go to spot. If you need a massage, your nails, lashes, they have you covered. read more

Do not waste your money. I get my nails done every two weeks. I can rely on my nails lasting at least 10 days with absolutely no lifting or chipping. Within 24-hours I had three chipped nails. See pictures attached. SERVICE: The woman who did my service was sloppy and in a rush, even though there were no customers waiting. She scrapped my previous gel manicure off towards the nail bed -- a big no-no as it encourages lifting and weakens the nails. The manicure itself was rushed and ineffective. When I walked out of the salon, my cuticles looked like they hadn't been tended to. The lines of the gel paint were sloppy and uneven and the shape of the nail was inconsistent and not what I asked for. I left the salon knowing that I wouldn't return, but otherwise not caring much because those are only details I would notice. Not 24 hours later I had three chips in my nails. I want to emphasize that this has never happened to me and I attribute it to the manicurist rushing me through the UV-light curing process. My nails did not stay under the light for more than 30 seconds. At one point I told her that my nails needed to be under the light longer and she again rushed me to finish the paint. After the UV-light process, she did not wipe the nail down with alcohol before applying moisturizer. CUSTOMER SERVICE EXPERIENCE: My service was completed on Monday. Tuesday (3 chips later) I called the salon asking for a refund as I would have to go get the nails done again (I have never done this before). I was told to call back Wednesday. When I called Wednesday, the owner, Timothy, asked me to send him a picture of my nails, which I did. I heard absolutely nothing in return. As a gel-manicure regular, I am extremely disappointed in this service. I'm not sure if they thin the nail polish or if the woman who did my nails was inexperienced and was having a bad day herself. I think Timothy is the guy who sits up front and is polite. He's nice. The others, not so much. So here's how my years of manicure experiences has been - pure joy, pampering, and stress relief. Been going for well over a decade yet with all these new systems coming out if you ask me about the steps of a manicure I probably get it all mixed up. That's because I've been going to places that have wonderful, amazing staff that talk to me and make me forget all the crap going around, they take my hand and put it inside the lazer light machine thingy, paint, take it out, massage, everything. Only thing I have to do is decide the color. The manicurist could be a stranger but for those 15 minutes you are friends. That's part of the experience for me. Even if I go with a girlfriend we all just chat. It's just nice. Just talking and not feeling the time pass and coming out with great looking nails. So this is Timothy's - met a lady up front, told her I'm traveling Thursday so I'll come back on Wednesday but she insisted that I do it that Monday. Met the lady who was going to do my nails who was clearly not a 'people person', she had me pick the color and I went off trying to chat with her because this is manicure time right? Nope. She was down right working because no one had told her that President Lincoln freed the slaves. And I tried. I asked how long she's been doing this, if she has kids etc.. Nothing. just 'put hand in'. 'put hand out' But this is when I got pissed. Around the second time I was supposed to put my hand in the thingey and I didn't (because I'm used to people doing it for me) she gave me this look like 'Is this your first manicure?!?' Yes lady, I'm a 20 something old woman with make up on, a Louis Vuitton, 3 inch stilettos and I've never had my nails done. At this point I looked around and noticed that most people were not talking. This was a different type of place. a weird alternate nail salon universe that I never wanted to go to again. Still she showed something like a smile when I tipped her 50% But I went back again because a lousy nail broke after packing for the trip. I spoke to timothy who was very willing to help but unfortunately hooked me up with perhaps the most miserable Asian man is the world. He did the same 'Put. Hand. In' command that the lady did, but. what brought about this yelping was attitude. He kept rolling his eyes at me over and over, I was honestly worried that he'll pop them out. And seriously, its so unpleasant to sit in front of a man who is glaring at you as if he wishes you would turn into flames. Other than Timothy, i think there's only one one male in this place and if you're reading this - dude, see a therapist. you have issues. 4 days into my vacation nails broke again. They bend over backwards to make sure our guests are happy. We just had our most recent Manicure Night there and I'm amazed at how quickly they performed the services for our guests, and with such great quality. Almost a week later, several of our guests are telling me how impressed they are that their manicure still looks perfect...and want to know when our next Manicure Night at Nails by Timothy will be! -- Last year, my company decided to invite employees to a Manicure Night at a local nail salon. To find a salon location, I started with a search online and then planned to visit a few. My first stop was Nails by Timothy and almost immediately I realized I did not need to look any further! Timothy is so enthusiastic and friendly, which rubs off on his staff who are equally as nice and accommodating. His confidence that I had come to the right place was contagious and I was certain the event would be a hit. The first year we had 21 of our employees/guests come in for manicures only and the night could not have gone smoother. Our guests raved about the service and friendliness of the staff and left with a smile on their face When we decided to have another similar event this year, I went to Timothy right away to set it up, with ideas about more options for our guests to choose from including manicures, pedicures, and even reflexology service from Happy Feet which is under the same management as Nails by Timothy just a few shops down. We had 28 attendees and I was worried about wait times and how the schedule would work, but the staff was able to get through everyone in a reasonable amount of time while still maintaining the outstanding quality of their work. The schedule that Vicki from Happy Feet arranged for our guests who were doing reflexology worked out perfectly. Timothy, his incredibly sweet mother, and the rest of the staff at Nails by Timothy and Happy Feet really went above-and-beyond to make sure our event was a success. I'm so grateful to have found this salon and will continue to go there personally and for future group events! I love this place and I have been going here for more than a year now. I always go to Jane and she is amazing! She's the only nail tech who has made me very satisfied with my nails. I always get gel polish and just regular polish on my toes. My gel mani never chips! And they still look good even after two weeks. Everyone here is very friendly and they always have great music. This has become my go-to place when I finally decide to get around to pampering myself and getting a manicure or pedicure. I love that you can just walk in and almost get started immediately. The staff is friendly and caters to your preferences. Only downfall is that they do not add the tip to your card, so you have to bring cash for that part. They don't inform you of this prior to paying, so the first time I went I had to leave and come back to provide the tip. Definitely worth going here. They do a great job and my polish stays on far longer than any other manicure or pedicure I've ever had. read more

Great massage during pedicures, painless leg waxing, will tweeze eyebrows instead of waxing if asked, and generally a five star place. This place stays quite busy so you are lucky if you can be seen right away as a walk in. I didn't have an appointment but I came before lunch time so I was able to be seen for a pedicure and manicure right away. Here are a few things I noticed and recommend that they should improve: Wash your hands after each client. Touching someone's feet or hands without knowing anything about that person (they could have a contagious disease) can put you and your clientele at risk for an infection. Also if you touch the feet first then you should wash your hands before touching their face or hands. This is just common sense hygiene. What you use for each client should be sterilized. I did not see the technician open a sterilized pouch and take out the stuff they use. If unsure just make sure you ask. The staff are friendly and nice. I hate to be the first one to rain on the parade for this one, but I've had better pedicures. It probably didn't help that this was my first time at this place, but it was like everything went wrong. No one said "come this way to your seat" or gave me any direction. I stood there waiting at the front door with my choice of nail color in hand looking for my place to be. Timothy showed me the way (hooray :-) ) and I was seated in a lovely massage chair with a swirling pool of water at my feet. (The best part of my stay!) The guy that came to do my toes (NOT Timothy) was really rough-- and I think he made a wisecrack about my legs reminding him of a hamster... thanks. This guy was really rough on me. Two of my toes have infections a week after the fact which makes me think that the tool he used was not clean. Granted it was busy and they were rushing- but that was enough to make me not want to go back. Too bad -- I really liked the atmosphere and the lady that sat next to me was a really nice customer (a regular!) To top it off, the lady and I had trouble communicating about the final price. I had a gift card I was redeeming and it sounded like she was overcharging me when in actuality she was quoting the price before she subtracted the gift card amount. My friends and I have been coming here for years. It is hard to find a place that has so many good nail techs. The whole staff is really good here. They are more friendly, clean and detail oriented than any other salons that I have visited. They go above and beyond to service customers. They always take walk-ins and often stay late with customers. I also appreciate that the whole staff takes a part in making sure that customers are greeted, welcomed, serviced, etc. and that means a lot to me. Prices are good. I happened into Timothy's almost 15 years ago when I was going thru cancer treatment and decided to treat myself to a pedicure. I've been going to Van ever since then to get my toes and eyebrows done. Since then my mother and daughter have both become devoted customers, as well as sending many friends her way. I used to get my eyebrows waxed but over the years my skin has become too sensitive so Van spends the time to tweezer them for me since I can't stand doing it . She also chooses my nail color each time and I always live it. Some others in the salon can be a bit abrupt at times but who cares? I'm here to see Van and always enjoy it. read more
