I just found my new go to nail tech!!! I just moved to the Bay from LA so I was struggling to find a good and affordable nail tech. My natural nails are super long so I usually get builder/hard gel but it was super hard finding a place that offered that. One of my nails from a different nail tech recently broke so I looked on Yelp to hopefully find a place that offers non acrylic/Gel-X solutions and came across Lily who does dip powder gel. I texted her early this morning and she was able to fit me in on the same day. Lily is the sweetest person, she fixed my nail perfectly replicating my old design and was even going to not charge me but of course I tipped her. She is also super kind, nice to talk to, and very quick and precise with her nail work. This shop also has a variety of color selections and a plus is that they use OPI! I love OPI nail polishes. I asked how much a regular dip powder gel set would be and she said $55 which is so affordable. I will definitely be back and back again! Lily suggested I start with dip powder gel nails & that is when our journey started! Every month I go to Lily, she has been the kindest soul ever. First time here and I really like this place! I came here for a full-set of dip powder nails with Gigi and really loved my experience. First, I called the salon to see if I could make an appointment but they said they didnt have time today, so I ended up finding a different location that I was headed to check out. As soon as I got in my car ready to head to this new salon, Lily called me back to say come in and that someone had canceled. Luckily I live in castro valley and got there super quick. I really appreciate how they called me back - they thought of me! So sweet! Gigi is super sweet and very detailed oriented. Because this nail salon has just 2 people there's more focus on quality rather than getting as many people in the door as possible (which is the case at most nail salons). You get a more boutique experience. I've never tried dip powder nails but I feel pretty sold on them after my experience - they're faster, look way more natural than acrylics, and require less upkeep (you come back ever 3 weeks ie once a month as a opposed to every 2 weeks with acrylic). Both technicians (Gigi and Lily) are both super friendly and I highly recommend both of them and this place. Plus, it's not just a nail salon, you can get your hair done, waxing, lashes, and microblading done there as well - it's a cool spot! I already booked my next appointment and can't wait to try other colors with my new dip nails. A few thing to take note of when you're trying out this salon: 1. They only have a clear dip nail color and apply the color you want as a gel color. Basically the dip nail becomes the 'acrylic' layer, and then you get your gel color on top. 2. They don't have a ton of gel colors to choose from like they do at other salons, so maybe bring your own if you have a very specific color you want to try. 3. Call ahead of time and try to make an appointment - this probably isn't a place where you can just walk in because they're in good business. Overall, I'm really happy with my nails and my experience - glad that there's a good dip nail shop in Castro Valley! read more

I love beautiful nails, who doesn't? The trouble for me, is finding a great nail lady who can transform my nails into the picture in my head, and Lily did just that. I have been "shop-hopping" lately trying out different shops and nail techs and have been left unsatisfied. Walking into any nail-shop there are "the regulars" and it can be pretty intimidating as a client, walking in and hoping for the best. Luckily for me, Lily knew exactly how to take care of my nails. I had on a full set of acrylics and was dying to have them removed so my nails could breathe again. Lily gently removed the acrylics and took care and time in applying my new gel polish. Decided to check this place out since it was nearby my workplace and it was worth it. Very easy to find parking and very clean. Lily's attention to detail and welcoming demeanor is a plus plus! I usually get a gel manicure and a regular pedicure wherever I go. Usually the gel would peel off after a week or so (because of my job). But with Lily, my nails lasted so long! Dipping powder + gel and my nails stayed intact. There is no bad seal for me to pick at.
