First time customer here! I had high hopes but had a bad experience. Definitely do not recommend.
I didn't like that the nail tech seemed to be in a hurry. It felt rushed even though I was one of the first appts of the day.
Only 3 days after getting my nails done, I noticed that the nails appear to have "shrunk" in a way. Like they have pulled away from my cuticles, almost as if my nails have already grown quite a bit in less than 3 days time. My nails don't grow that fast in only 3 days. And some of them look like they're starting to peel up, near the base. They look like my nails typically do after 2ish weeks after getting them done. I've never had my nails look like this after only 3 days. Ever.
I looked up what causes this online and found a ton of videos talking about/showing what causes this "shrinking" and "pulling." I went to see the nail tech who does my daughter's nails just to get an outside opinion. I didn't tell her who done my nails or when. She said the same things I read online: if a nail tech gets in a hurry and doesn't clean the nails up enough before applying the acrylic, the acrylic cannot bond correctly, causing it to pull away, overcuring or using a low quality lamp can cause it to shrink away, if the tech doesn't put the gel close enough to the base, it can also cause this premature gap. Lots of possible reasons. They definitely don't look only 3 days old.
The tech went very fast. I didn't necessarily think that was a bad thing THAT day, but I did get the feeling she was in a big hurry while she was doing my nails. This was my very first time here, so I'm beyond disappointed. I debated whether I should call and ask them to fix it bc I was hoping for $84, they'd look better for longer than 3 days. I expect them to look grown out and sloppy after a couple weeks, but after only 3 days??
One of the nails broke on week one so I scheduled to get it fixed and told them the nails have pulled away from my cuticles more than they ever have in the past...if they could note that & ask the tech to take a look. I get there and the young girl up front tells me that this is normal, its just my nails growing! I said "After 3 days nails grow this much??" She said, yes. I told her that for $84, it's normal for nails to only look nice and new for only 3 days before they start peeling and looking like there is 2 wks of nail growth?? Then she changed her mind and said it could be because I cut my cuticles or if my cuticles peeled back, they can look more grown out than what they really are. Why didn't the nail tech do that before applying the nails if that's the case?
She said she had never heard of acrylic nails "shrinking." Like...what?? Ater all this, she said: "I don't know, I don't do nails." After telling me this much growth is normal and "shrinkage" isn't a thing, she says this. Another employee, probably Kim, comes up and says this can also happen if my hands are in water a lot. They aren't. I wear gloves to do dishes, I always have, and work in an office setting. Nothing abnormal...just typical handwashing and showering. She just walked away. Keep in mind, I wasn't being belligerent or rude, just voicing my dissatisfaction. Employees responding by telling me that fake acrylic nails do not shrink when there is an entire section of the internet dedicated to what causes it and how nail techs can avoid it is CRAZY to me. Just tell me you won't fix it, too bad for me. Don't lie to my face and tell me this isn't a thing that happens and that it's normal to pay $84 for nails & have them peel and look like they've been growing out for weeks after only 3 days.
The complete denial, blaming water and nail growth, switching up instead of just allowing the actual nail tech to take a look and give me an honest opinion was so disappointing. The complete and utter lack of care or concern and the horrible customer service was shocking. I told them to cancel my appt to get the broken one fixed. Wasted money, wasted time. Pataskala and New Albany have TONS of nail places to choose from. Avoid this one. I got my nails done on a Saturday @ 9am (the first pic is the day I got them done.)
