I arrived picked a color sat in the chair. Courtney informed me there would be a $5 to remove the gel polish she put on my nails at my last pedicure. I explained that I asked in advance when I booked, and it was confirmed - no fee. The owner came over and said confirmed a $5 fee and the woman that had answered the phone denied she had confirmed there would be no removal fee. I am absolutely disgusted by the entire situation. Bad business. Bad customer service. The lack of transparency is unacceptable and I did not get a pedicure. I will not be returning. I've gotten manicures all over the country. She looked at my nails, immediately started typing on her phone, and then came back and told me that my refill would be $110 and my pedicure would be $50. While I thought the prices seemed unusually high, I agreed to the services. What surprised me even more was being told that I had to pay the full $167 upfront before any services were performed. In all my years of getting my nails done, I have never been required to prepay for a refill and pedicure. I also did not notice any other customers being asked to pay upfront, which made me feel singled out. What made the pricing even more confusing is that I regularly get nail designs, artwork, and other add-on services, and I have never paid anywhere near $167 for a refill and pedicure--even with those extras included. This visit was simply a refill and pedicure, yet it ended up being the most I have ever been charged. To be clear, the nail technician who worked on me was very kind, professional, and did a good job. I have no complaints about her whatsoever. In fact, I felt bad that I wasn't able to leave the tip I normally would have. I am a generous tipper and always make a point to show appreciation for good service, but after paying such an unexpectedly high amount upfront, I simply didn't feel comfortable spending even more. My issue is with the way I was treated as a customer. The unusually high pricing, combined with the requirement to pay upfront when others seemingly were not asked to do the same, left me feeling embarrassed, humiliated, and as though I was being treated differently. The girls were brought to their pedicure chairs immediately and mine was available a few minutes later.
