Hands down, without a doubt the best place for a manicure or pedicure in the greater Madison area. I've been going here since 2007 and haven't found a better place yet. The salon is sophisticated, calming, and meticulously clean. The staff are professional and listen carefully to clients' requests. Safety and infection control are a top priority here: they use new supplies for every client for items that can't be sanitized (nail files, etc.) and pedicure bowls are given new plastic liners after each use. They are true professionals at applying & removing CND shellac polish. You won't find any damaging nail grinders here! Cecelia and her team are so wonderful. I made an appointment for myself but brought a friend and they were able to give both of us a manicure at the same time. The manicures turned out fabulous! This place is definitely a little hidden in the office building, but luckily it is well marked and not too hard to get into. The first time I came here, I definitely was thinking to myself if I was even allowed in the building (it is very empty!). I came here to do a shellac manicure with a friend, and we made an appointment in advance, since they were going to be working on the two of us at the same time. We arrived and they greeted us immediately with a smile, which was a surprise. We picked out our shellac colors and were sat down next to each other. The manicure process itself was pretty standard. I will say that they take extra care to make sure they aren't too rough with your hands and fingers. My manicure turned out beautiful, even right at the very edges of my nails. Each nail was coated evenly (and I had a light sheer nude pink, so you can see the "streaks", if any). The sides were very important to me, because if they are done poorly, they tend to lift up over time and tempt me to start picking away at them. Overall, while they are *slightly* pricier than other nail salons in the area, I would gladly pay the little extra for the good customer service, spotless salon and wonderful manicures read more

Beautiful decor, which nail salons often don't have, super clean and polite staff. Unfortunately, I did not like my pedicure at all. It was $42, which is $12 more than I normally pay at my usual place, which is not even 10 minutes away and this was a far inferior pedicure. This salon is closer to home and was more convenient on this particular day and looked so pretty inside. The pedicure was so mediocre and disappointing. I realized after I left that she never even used the pumice stone or anything else on the bottom of my feet and they weren't any softer than before the pedicure. Very minimal cuticle removal and massage. All in all, not impressed and won't be returning. read more

Nails 4 U has for long been my mom's go-to place for nails in Madison. The owner is the most friendly woman who even remembers details about my life, even though I only stop in once a year or so when I am in town visiting my parents. They truly know how to make you feel like a valued costumer. Beyond excellent customer service, Nails 4 U offers great manicures and pedicures at a reasonable price and they also provide excellent shellac manicures and pedicures with CND products, which I have found stay on without chipping for up to three weeks. Lastly, I would recommend making an appointment. They do take walk-ins but have many regular customers and only two people working at a time. That being said, you can often get same-day appointments or an appointment the next day. read more

I got Shellac for my mani and regular polish for my pedi - all for $60. Prior to coming to this salon, I called a few other places in Madison and the prices were just ridiculous ($80+). It's well priced, the staff was friendly, the salon was clean, and it's conveniently located. I scheduled an appointment the day of and they were able to fit me in that same evening. It's not a fancy spa or anything, but if you're just looking for a good mani/pedi in a clean place that's reasonably priced, I would defintely recommend! I will be coming back!! read more

Everyone at this salon is extraordinarily welcoming. The place is clean and comfortable; service is personalized. I came once a few years ago and continue to come back regularly because of how friendly and reliably good the service is. I have never left with a bleeding cuticle here (which happens to me at almost every other nail salon I go to!) If you're looking for honey scrubs/rose petal baths/lots of unusual extras this isn't the place. But if you're headed somewhere nice and need your nails to look excellent, this is the place to stop by. Call ahead: they can often accommodate same day appts but walk-ins can be harder. I have been coming here for several months now and I really like this place. You do have to make an appointment, but if you call they can often get you in the same day. They actually care about their customers and are nice to you. Right now they are in a temporary location, so don't be intimidated by the maze of dark hallways you have to take to get there. They will be in their brand new building. I like the CND polish, it lasts a lot longer than OPI or others I've tried. I haven't gotten a shellac from them yet, because my cuticles are all gross and I need to come in weekly. Anyways, I do plan on getting a shellac because they use natural products and they don't file/ruin your nails when they put it on. They told me that a lot of places call their gels shellac, and they will totally ruin your nails. Also if you aren't satisfied with the shape or anything they are doing, just speak up, especially the first time you go they don't know your preferences yet. I love Nails 4 U because the artists are wonderful people and they do a really fantastic job. I was a walk-in on a busy day, but they were still welcoming and gave us great gel manicures. They also offered great nail and hand care advice. Something about their shellac was easier on my nails. It was easier to pick off (because I'm terrible and do that), but it did not leave the same devastation that I'm used to. I will return- next time with an appointment. read more

Pricey, but definitely worth every penny. I went to Nails 4 U near Hilldale Mall on a Monday night with no appointment around 4:45pm. At first I was told that they wouldn't be able to take me until 5:15pm, which was still ok! Luckily two other employees came in and I got to get right in the pedicure chair. I even had my feet getting worked on at the same time as my hands. I'm indecisive with polish colors and both of the ladies were helpful and patient with me.
