He checked in with me to make sure I liked the shape, length, color, & temperatures. The gel polish paint job was gorgeous, no bumps or bubbles or flooded cuticles... they will grow out beautifully. The salon looked, smelled, & felt very sterile, & Jesse used very sanitary practices to make for a clean & stress free experience. They were also able to fit me in with almost no notice, I called to make an appointment for as soon as they were able & they took me instantly! The man that did my nails seemed to be in a hurry to begin with. This should've been the first red flag.. 3. No cuticle care. All he did was clip my nails and then buffed out the nail. Nothing was done for my cuticles that were very clearly growing into my nail. At this point I started doubting whether he was even certified. 4. I booked gel-x (more expensive than acrylic which will come into play later), but he started doing acrylics. I should've spoken up, but I was admittedly distracted talking to my friend. 5. He didn't shape them well at all. The almond was too thick and not consistent at all. I asked him to make it less thick and he barely did anything to them. 6. The acrylic application was uneven and chunky. There was still remnants left under my nail too. He also applied acrylic to my skin. At this point I had given up and accepted the fact that I needed to fix them when I got home. 7. I asked for an ombré and he did some weird brush strokes. Again, I could've said something but at this point I felt defeated. 8. They charged me for gel-x even through they ended up giving me acrylics. I ended up paying $85 for literal crap on my nails. I was too heartbroken and embarrassed to take pictures, but I was left with chunky nails with a weird stroked pattern, and acrylic remnants all over the rest of my fingers. I had to go home and spend another 3 hours fixing it myself. This place is a waste of time and money. Do not go.

At 4:10, I was asked to sit in a pedicure chair. The gentleman who did my pedicure was rough, cut me twice, trimmed far too much off my big toes, and left nail polish on my skin. I didn't receive several of the items listed on that pedicure type. My daughter finished when I was still having my pedicure, and they directed her to a chair next to mine. After she waited almost 30 minutes, she didn't even want the pedicure anymore. No one ever came over to acknowledge her or start working. There were walk ins after her that received service. I finally sat down to have my nails done at 5:05. I had a picture of the French manicure I wanted. It took an hour and 45 minutes. It looked nothing like the photos; the edges were sharp and I scratched myself. There was so much product under the nails and I asked him to file it, but he did not. For two French manicures with a full set and one pedicure, I spent $224!

After getting a complete hatchet job of a gel manicure at Studio Z (see other review: seriously, it was a gel manicure that started cracking less than 24 hours after application because the woman who did it had NO IDEA what she was doing), I was calling around town in a panic trying to find someone who could redo my nails that afternoon. I didn't want to try to fit in a ~$150 removal/new manicure at Treasure Island the morning of my wedding, because our schedule was already ridiculous. New Concepts happened to have an opening. As soon as I got there, everyone wanted to see the original job, and confirmed it had been applied wrong--which made it take about twice as long to remove as it should have, but Katie got it off and then did it RIGHT. She explained the whole process to me as she went, which helped me retain confidence that she actually knew what she was doing, and was also interesting for future reference. When she finished up, it looked perfect, and it has now held up beautifully for a week. I even scraped my nails across several rock formations while doing post-wedding shots at the Valley of Fire, and it didn't leave a scratch. Finally, they didn't charge me anything for removing the original job--just $35 for the gel polish (gel with a manicure is $50 at New Concepts, and most places charge separately to remove gels). That was less than I'd paid for the original bad job! I normally like to change my polish color a lot, which you can't do with gel, but Katie was so nice and I'm so impressed with how well gel holds up, I'm seriously considering sticking with it from now on. If I do, I will definitely be going back to Katie!

The manicure was a little more expensive than I expected it to be but that was okay at the time. However, less than 12 hours later, my polish started to chip. I called and the receptionist was ditzy and confused as to exactly what I needed done. It was frustrating talking to her, and then when I finally got in to get my nails fixed, the stylist who was formerly friendly was cold and didn't talk to me. She did a good job fixing the chipped manicure, but I was pissed that I had to waste my own time to come back and get something fixed that should have been done right the first time. One of my nails broke four days after the original manicure and even more nails were chipping and awful looking a week later for a manicure that should have lasted at least two weeks. I will never go here again, I feel that it was a waste of money for such poor service and poor product.

My manicurist was throughout my service talking on the phone with multiple different people, laughing and chatting with her fellow coworker that was seated next to her not working, and operating very slowly. At one point she was on the phone with the police and asked me to translate the conversation she had. Very unprofessional. I partially attribute the slow working to the attention to detail on my nails and shaping, but often it felt she was just taking her time. I left the salon with cuts all over my nails and hands, as well as gel polish cured to my fingertips. My hands are still in pain days later. The facility itself is dirty, with the desks for nails being dusty and clearly unclean. My nails turned out okay, my manicurist did not ask for my input in the style of nails. When I suggested that the design I requested be altered several times, she just decided to paint them however she thought looked best. Also, this place charges for different nail shapes? Not something I have heard of or experienced prior.
