The first time I came in to get my nails done I went off of their online schedule, which should have given me an additional hour and a half to get my nails done but when I arrived, they were closing. Everyone was rushing to get out of the door, which I understand. The front desk, lady screamed and asked if anyone would be willing to take me. I've then received a bunch of dirty looks, and everyone arguing amongst themselves about who would take me and stay late. The only person to step up was Vinny. She was sweet soft-spoken, and did not rush me once during the entire process. I enjoyed conversating with her while she did my feet and was surprised when she even said she would stay later to do my hands. During the process of getting my feet done, many of the other workers came by and commented on how late it was and that she should not have taken me and next time I should come sooner. It made me feel uncomfortable but, she reassured them that she was OK and it was not a problem. Vinny is an amazing nail technician and I would highly recommend her. I got my nails done. I came in late first they didn't even want to do my nails, even though it was an hour before they closed! My nails lasted one day the people they were rude and honestly, they wasted my time by telling me over the phone that they would redo my nails for me for me to come up all the way to the shopping center for them to tell me, it was my fault, my nails came off because my nails were so short but keep in mind the acrylic she put on my nails was already very short. I'm very disappointed with a situation concerning a gift certificate . I give them to my mom for Christmas every year. She has been going through chemo treatments and had lost her nails. They were starting to grow back. Almost to the stage where she could get them done. The certificates have an expiration date of Dec 31 2022 Her's was about to expire. She went in and spoke with the owner earlier that month. Explaing the situation He initially refused to extend ithe date at all. He finally agreed to extending it to Feb 2023. Gift certificates and cards do not actually have an expiration date in most states Virginia has a suggested 5 yr limit. I personally went to the owner and explained the law to him. Being a business owner myself, I know expiration dates are a mute point and don't even put them on my gift certificates. My mom went back into the hospital a few days ago. She knew she wouldn't be able to use the certificate. She gave it to her daughter in law , who was with her when she spoke with the owner. So he knew who she was as well . I've frequented this salon many times over the last 3-4 years but I won't anymore after today. There were at least five things that troubled me during my visit today but I'll spare the minor details and just stick to my biggest gripe -- the customer service. Before going to any nail salon, I always cut my own toenails to ensure they aren't cut too short at the salon. At the salon when they ask if I want them cut, I say no, just filed. Today, my tech, Jennie, didn't even ask and just began cutting so I kindly let her know that I only wanted them filed, not cut. She insisted on cutting "just a little bit" anyway and, of course, she cut them too short and left one of the big toes shaped at an angle. I was upset but there was nothing that could be done at that point so I kept it to myself. When she sat me at the dryer, she asked me to pay and told me the cost was $25 but the tip was separate. Fine. I always tip in cash as I'm heading out anyway. When she came back with the receipt, she'd forgotten my card at the register but didn't forget to mention the tip again. I said "okay" and also asked for my card. When she came back with my card, she mentioned the tip AGAIN to which I replied "okay, thank you." This time she just stood there and told me I owed her cash. (UMMM... WHAT?!?!) Frustrated, I let her know that I was upset that she cut my nails too short after I asked her not to cut them at all and that one of them was also crooked. She started pointing her finger, getting closer and closer to my face saying "You, you, you..." as she went on and on about how wrong I was. Normally I tip at least 20% for any service I receive but I refuse to be told I OWE someone a tip for service I'm dissatisfied with -- especially after being disrespected the way I was. Perhaps I'll leave the biggest tip here and suggest that the employees at this salon take a lesson on customer service. read more

I went in for a mani/pedi I paid $60 before she even finished my mani I told her they looked to thick and chunky she went over them again and I was still very unhappy but she kept insisting they weren't chunky and had to be that "thick" so they didn't break. My toes aren't fully painted and chipped. The powder on my nails is clearly over my actual nail. I went back to that salon the same day after calling them and explaining what happened because I had somewhere I had to be and could not stay to get them re-fixed as I came back and they had me sit for over 20 minutes to wait and insured me that I cannot choose a different color person to do my nails because I'd have to pay once again even though I was completely unhappy with my $60 purchase read more

He literally answered the phone and had a full on conversation while doing my nails. While he was filing my nails, it hurt so much. This is coming from someone who has a high pain tolerance. He filed it tooo fast and it burned my skin. He did such a horrible job, my nail broke literally 3 hours after I got it done. THREE. he was rushing because he had to go home.. the ONLY reason why I have them an extra star is because the woman in the front said this new technician would 'take care of me' after I refused to pay to get my nail fixed. I went this morning for a manicure, pedicure, and eyebrow waxing and the owner/manager of the business did my manicure. This is about the fourth time I've been here and the worst service I've received. The whole time during my manicure, she kept getting up and dealing with other things and ultimately rushed my manicure, which led to my nails looking like I did them myself. Uneven nail filings, polish still on my skin, and loose pieces of skin still hanging off my nail bed. My pedicure was wonderful since it was with someone else. I went in for the first time to get a manicure and a spa pedicure. The pedicure was great - very relaxing (I got the organic lavender one) and the polish looked fine from what I could tell. We moved over to do the manicure, which felt extremely rushed. I take very good care of my nails and skin, but my hands have been dry recently and I worked in the yard (wearing gloves) for the last 2 days so I was looking forward to a little pampering. My cuticles were butchered and no cuticle oil was applied at any point. I asked for a soft square shape and picked a light color that required 3 coats (no biggie - I usually do 3 coats of polish at home myself with no issues). You can see from the photo how horrid the manicure turned out. I'm kicking myself for not going back for a refund. I ended up taking off all the polish on my fingers and toes and repainting them myself. Lesson learned, will only return here for a pedicure with NO polish. read more

For a bustling nail & spa shop, my friends and I were seated very fast and all together. What's more fun than getting a pedi with your besties? One of my friends has been coming here for years and loves it! I've been here twice and I like it... not love it, but it's nice. It's pretty clean, although after my pedi, I thought the basin could have been sanitized more thoroughly. The tech just gave it a quick spritz. We certainly don't wait a fungus among us, so really scrub those tubs!! We were all happy with our pedis, and they are quick too. They had zero prices hanging up, so I was thinking maybe $30ish for each...it was Easter so my regular nail salon was closed, sadly. Royal Nails & Day Spa is so much better. Better quality in their work and better prices. My standard gel manicures cost $25 there and will last up to 2 weeks. Will never return here. My salon was closed today so I stopped in for a shellac mani and a pedicure. They apparently were closing early which they didn't inform me of and just started rushing. First they tried to remove my shellac with a drill which I did not allow during my pedicure. Then while doing my pedicure the nail tech was in such a rush shaking open a bottle of cuticle remover that she hit my big toe and lacerated it and it started bleeding heavily. I told them I was no longer interested in having my nails done by them and left. Again I will never ever return. They just lost a great customer. I'm very disappointed with this mail salon....I asked for a simple design with lines and that was done wrong!!!!!! She took off $2 because she couldn't get my design right....I still ended up paying $53 dollars . Woke up the next morning...my thumb nail is missing....I went back and she said it wasn't her fault that it was my fault the nail broke....I told her I literally work up and it was gone. Believe the reviews and don't waste your money. I got my nails done by Tim the day before Thanksgiving and after 4 days the shellac polish started to peel. Due to the holiday and work I wasn't able to go up there until 6 days after getting my nails done. I called ahead and told the receptionist what happened and asked if they could be fixed. She said since it was less than a week to come up there and I shouldn't have to pay. When I got up there Tim completely denied doing my nails. He refused to take responsibility and continued to tell me I was wrong and that he wasn't the one who did my nails. I was his last customer that day and I also signed and dated a covid form so they could have pulled my form to confirm the original date of service. I even had a dated receipt that said Tim did my nails and he still asked the receptionist if I was the same person. It is extremely offensive to not believe a customer even when all the records clearly show I was there on the date I stated. I was willing to let him fix it and I would have continued service but he didn't want to make it right with me. I requested a refund, but they made it extremely difficult to give me a refund. They had to call the manager and she cared more about the money than the service that was provided. She kept telling me this is a business. I went for a gel pedicure and fill in yesterday and the service was good. The lady doing my nails rushed through and I noticed later that night that there were imperfections. I woke up the next day and one of my nails had chipped and the paint was lifting on a few nails. When I returned to have ALL my nails corrected they said they would do a couple for free or charge me the half the price of a fill in for my nails to be corrected. Personally, I felt charging a customer for a mistake that was made at their salon was poor customer service. I spent well over $100 (which I wouldn't mind if the quality was great). I left with mediocre nails and a decent pedicure. I will not be returning and wouldn't advise anyone looking for a nail salon to visit this one. read more

Walked in at 12:50, was not greater by the new receptionist (Sue?) she was also very rude to the techs when they came up however I was seated with a tech at 1:05. They were very busy so I didn't mind the wait. Loved my lady! She was very respectful of what I wanted and even convinced me to try something new! This is the fourth time I have been here and each time I gave more patience than normal. It looks beautiful and clean when you walk in, there is always a dedicated greeter/manager rather than having to try to talk to someone while they do nails, but please don't let this fool you. The lady always in the front just about always has a major attitude and 1/2 of the technicians are terrible at their jobs. The first time I went all of my nails were crooked and the actual surface of the acrylic was grossly uneven. I tried to mention minor things while she was doing it but she was getting more and more angry like I was being a jerk for wanting my $45 nails to look like a professional did them rather than a child(I didn't say that). I left less than satisfied but figured it wasn't that bad... 7 people in two day made comments about how terrible they looked so I went back. The woman in the front was completely rude and angry with me for expecting them to fix it... I even offered to pay the cost of a fill!! After embarrassment and being made to feel like I was taking advantage of them (even though I paid an ADDITIONAL $15 a few days after having them don't me to get them fixed) they finally did it, but went back and forth with each other over what I needed to pay... Then the girl doing them complained to me that it wasn't fair because she wasn't getting any of the money...so I rolled her $10... Now if you're following, that's now $70 for a full set with white tips and gel topcoat... REALLY?!? The third time I went in for a fill in a set I had gotten at RVA Nails (AMAZING BTW, he's just don't work for me) they did it, the cost was higher than everywhere else but it looked good... No complaints, the young girl was very nice and friendly while doing the fill, so I decided to give the place another shot... Which brings me to today's visit...number four since moving to Virginia from Ny... After being assigned a tech (Tim) I asked if he was good at solar pink and white... I was told yes. That was a complete lie, he is terrible at it. There were red dots in the white from the tool he used in my thumbs which I immediately mentioned and was told he would take car of it...then when I asked him to correct one nail NC it was far different from the rest he rolled his eyes and said "you're picky" I said yes I am; my nails are not a necessity, and it is a treat to myself that I have to budget for so when I spend this much money on professionals to do something, I think it's reasonable to want the finished product to look nice, pleasing to the eye since it is a 100% cosmetic accessory... Completely for looks. Of coarse I want it to look nice. He says "it's very hard to get do it perfect" ... don't I know it. Continued to give him patience... Asked a few questions here and there. Mind you, I've been getting the same exact thing done to my nails with minor variations for 10 years over three states... Never have I had this many issues with getting it done. Fast forward, we're done and I wash my hands, the get top coat hadn't dried enough so a few of the nails were full once they were dried off, I asked if he could reapply the top coat, and I thought maybe they just hadn't dried enough... Hard sigh... Finally done! Go next door to tan after like I've done a zillion times... I used a baby wipe to clean each nail individually both before and after tanning, because I do this regularly... When I'm done 6 nails are dull and 5 are turning yellow around the edges... I wanted to let it go but I've had a rough few weeks and really wanted one thing for me that I could look at and be happy I did. Mistake- I calmly mention the issue to the aforementioned ball of joy at the front- she goes and gets tim...first thing he says "I'll fix it but I won't do you nails again ever" lol that was not a concern at all. I mentioned that i had tanned and he threw his hands up and jumped up to run and tell the ball of joy this... Then walks back to the seat mumbling about it under his breath. Ok I get it, you're not happy having to fix things... But you did a shoddy job, at best, to begin with... The yellow was my final straw...not the only one, and it only happen to a few nails...the ones that hadn't been in the light long enough to dry. I knew he was rushing the whole time but remained quiet, all I cared about was if they looked alright at the end, and they didn't. Long story short, of the four times I have been there, three mere miserable experiences. Their prices are very high in comparison to the others in the area, and their quality is far inferior. It was convenient for me, but it's so not worth having to deal with their attitudes when THEY mess up and don't want to take their time the first time around and have to touch up their own work. Been a customer for 6 years and haven't had an issue. Went in to get my SENIOR YEAR PROM nails and Justin did awful. I told him i wanted acrylic with white tip and he gave me these ugly things and told me to my face "they were the same". i couldn't stay for him to fix them because i had an appointment and when i went in the next morning he tried to blame it all on me when it was his fault and said it was confusing when i just say french tip when i specifically told him what i wanted. He was very rude and disrespectful and tried to make me pay $35 to fix his mistake. I'm disappointed and now i have the worst nails for prom all because of him. Unfortunately, they still charged me for the coffin nails and the lady that did mine gashed me in three places with no apology. If this is the shop by FoodLion...Pedicure felt rushed and top coat was not applied evenly; I could see that after it had dried. Pedicure did not last a week (I've never experienced that in my life). I don't even know where to begin from the negative racial comments made about my origin to the verbally abusive set of words used to describe my hyperhidrosis . Knowing that they close at 8 ok on Monday nights I thought I would be fine with getting my nails done at 6:30pm I knew it was late but I figured I only wanted a short set of acrylic nails to take me through the weekend . First as I walked in they didn't wine give me time to look at the designs I wanted and the front desk INSISTED that I'd get gel instead of acrylic bc they last longer, he wouldn't even let me see the regulars polish designs because he knew they stared at $25 dollars and he was ready to go home . They had one nail technician who I can't even remember his name because of how HORRIBLE he was . As he was buffing my nails he literally goes "ew you have sweaty nails" yells that across the hole salon. And I just buff it off maybe he was kidding ? NO i was wrong he then goes on to speaking to his manager and says "it's gonna be hard for me to do her nails oufff she has sweaty nails " . I was with my winger sister and she even felt very uncomfortable. This man made me pick a color I didn't want bc he told me they were closing soon , mind you it's 6:30 they close at 8 . Shortly he's finished with buffing my nails then he goes on to saying that he can only do the acrylic base and a coat of color he's not specialized in any design. He assured me that another nail technician named Anna would give me a flower on my ring finger which I really wanted because at this point all I had was purple tips it looked kind of simple so he yells across the salon to get her attention so she could literally give me a nail polish flower on one of my fingers and she literally says no I'm going home I'm too tired. I kid you not this man laughed straight at my face, tells me that see I told you she's not gonna want to do it because she's ready to go. So I'm just silent at this point out raged because before sitting down I was promised that I was going to get something like the picture I showed him previously and all I got was simple tip nails looks like something from the 2000s. So he goes on to telling me that my acrylics won't last through the weekend because I have sweaty nails he just did not want to move on from that topic at all whatsoever. So I kindly ask him to do anything possible for them to last up until Sunday mind you this was a Monday and I explained to him that I'm going overseas to morocco where I'm originally from and I don't know any good nail technicians that could fix my nails if they were able to be broken. I kid you not this man looks at me and says where is morocco and I told him that it was North west Africa. He literally stops doing my nails and points at this black LED lamp and goes" u are not like this black Color, people from Africa are this color what happend to you? " At this point I was ready to just leave my chair because I was just so disgusted and his service I could not believe that this store was tolerating people like that to work I forgot his name because I was so out raged but I know that he works at booth number 6 PLEASE do not go to him ! Or a lady named Anna their service is so unbelievably ridiculous and should not be tolerated at all ! Thankfully I don't know how I was able to keep my composure and before he applied anything on my dry acrylic nails he ordered me to pay $40 and I pulled out a 50 and this man did not return my $10 knowing that I asked him to return my change because I was just so out raged and his service I was not going to give him a tip.
