This was such a positive experience for me! I'm currently in the process of finding new services in my new neighborhood and found Nails 2000 on Google and it was such a great decision! I was greeted at the door, temperature taken, hands sanitized immediately! My chair for pedicure was ready too, they're using disposable sleeves for their chairs which made me feel super safe. I am so limited on time because of child care. If it wasn't for the time limit I would have gone in and asked for someone to correct it. I had my pedicure and acrylic tips done by Tammy. She was kind but my nails are horrible. They are uneven and lumpy. And the worst part is the nail isn't fully glued and there is a gap under 8 of my nails between the natural nail and the fake nail. This place was recommended by a friend almost over a year ago and this has become MY spot, even after moving to a different town I still make the trip.. because it's worth it. They're so friendly and attentive, anytime I go elsewhere to get my nails/feet done I end up regretting it. Consistency and perfection is very important when it comes to my nails and I can say they are always on point. My gel manicures last exactly 2 1/2 weeks without chipping or breaking & I love it. Worst experience I've had at a nail salon. The elderly man who did my pedicure and manicure seemed annoyed the entire time, including when I walked in. My pedicure was poorly done and my toes were cut multiple times. The painting of my toes was also very sloppy and careless. My gel manicure was even worse. Filing and shaping was uneven and inconsistent and the painting was extremely sloppy. If I asked for something adjusted, he would huff and puff. I will NEVER come back here. read more

The owner seems very nice and I'm sure is as talented as stated in previous reviews. However, I was given I was someone else. Seemed to have an attitude after cutting me on both sides of 4 fingers. I have been coming here for YEARS since 2014, and this place undoubtably has the best service and nicest staff of any nail salon I have been to, and since the change in ownership, it has only gotten better. Kent does my gel manicure and he is thorough and gentle and have had no cuts or injuries to my hand (which had occurred with the prior owner). Sam is friendly and pleasant and always willing to accommodate. I will say, as a courtesy to the staff, and yourself, always book your appointment in advance. I prefer paying in cash, as they have a reward card for all cash payments over $25+. I travel from New Brunswick to get my nails done here and it is totally worth it. I am willing to travel because this place has outstanding service. They have an amazing selection of colors that only seems to grow each time I am there. The best thing is each color comes in a gel and a lacquer. Im really conflicted on writing this review based because the first time I went here, I had an amazing experience with johnny. Johnny does a wonderful job, takes his time and is very thorough with your nails and make sure they are up to par. Now I went back for the second time and on my fault called the wrong salon *** (trying to book in advance) lol so that was my mistake... But the problem I had here was when I got there johnny was there but was busy. At this point I was willing to wait for johnny, pay more or whatever at this point because I know it would be worthid and a good job. I got there and I asked if johnny was not available may I go to kent, or Sam (the owner) which once again I was willing to wait. Yes I understand I got there around 6pm. Not sure what time they closed. They offered me to come in saturday but i was not able , due to other reasons. I felt like the professionalism was off at that point especially when two of your regular customers referred me and I expect up to par service all around. I felt at that moment they didn't really hear my concerns and just passed me off to anyone and went about their business. So they sent me to the older gentleman i think his name was john. Felt john just rushed and didnt really care about his work. The drilling machine they use he had his foot on the thing too hard and it kept burning. A couple of times I said its hot until I raised my voice and he said oh sorry (in a watever tone) instead of fixing the problem. When he did the design it did not match the picture so I told him to do another one. And it was okay! I got my pedicure done but felt rushed and the color barely matched the nails. A lady did it she was nice but the pedicure just felt rushed. I should not feel rushed no matter what time I came in there. All in all I can take ownership for calling the wrong salon thinking i was making a reservation ahead of time and the misscommunication , but nonetheless I been there before and the service was impeccable but on the second try, I felt like everything was rushed and they did not hear me when i said i wanted the preferred people to do my nails and willing to wait. I understand everyone is good at what they do but the customer is right and is spending their money they want good service. Then the owner says to me while im getting my feet done OH you requested john and ? "i said no johnny. He did my nails and feet last time". Then he said oh you have tips ? , i said no i have natural nail and then he "said johnny only does natural nail and i said I know that he did my nails before. "If this was asked when I walked in the door from jump, I feel things would have went different. So clearly he didnt listen to what I said from before. I am not sure, If I'm willing to go back here after my second experience here. I will say make sure you are clear and consistent and treat everyone professionally period! If a customer specifically ask for someone, then make the accommodations possible. Listen to what your customers are saying. Staff is very friendly and always does a great job on my nails, they are up to date on all of the nail trends. Kent does an amazing job making my acrylics in a stiletto shape. I have been going to this nail salon for over a year. It's been a good experience. I had only one bad encounter with the old man cutting my skin during a pedicure several times. However Sam fixed the problem and had another person do it. Fast forward today was the worst experience and I will Never go back. I am a firm believer that everyone need to learn but You should know the basic. A Hispanic lady attempt to do my pedicure. She was extremely nervous but I still gave her a chance. She did not trim or file any of my toes. Which is the first thing you do. She did not clean up my cuticles. She just buffed it with a dam pumice stone. They usually scrap the excess skin of f she did not. When I ask her to. She asked if I was sure??? I am very easy going as long as you know what you are doing. All my toes nails was different shapes and sizes. My feet did not feel clean. I still had toe nail polish on that I walked in with. Very unhappy. I wanted my gel tips taken off and a gel manicure done. After getting the gel mostly off I said she could cut the nails because some had chipped in spots. She assured me that she could use the gel to bond/build where the chips were so I said ok. That would have been ok but then in the end she really didn't shape the nails or anything which wasn't TERRIBLE because they still kind of have shape from the tips. After the polish was all done and the top coat was put on she then brought the buffer tool back out and I was very confused. I then noticed when I got home by doing whatever she did there are now spots on my nails with no polish and they are rough. There are also multiple spots where it's completely on my cuticle. New owners. Went back not knowing David left, had a girl do my nails. Sooo thick, badly missed shaped.

Steven was the best thing that ever happened to this place. Now that he is gone there is no one there to get my nails right. I went back once after Steven left but when tammy did my nails they turned out the worse they have ever looked. Thick and crooked. I hate when a professional nail tech tells you your finger is crooked that's why the nail is crooked. Pure laziness. My fingers and nail beds are as straight as can be. Aside from this horrible last visit, whatever they use as gel top coat polish turns brown within a few days. I don't smoke or eat food with my hands. I hate when they blame it on you. David convinced me once to take off old nails and get a fresh full set. Which is fine since i get long coffin with heavy design. It looked nice when he was done since I didn't get any color and got a solar full set but literally the next night my nails turned brown. This means they're thinning out their products to the point top coat was useless. Turning pink solar uncolored nails BROWN. I may go back for a pedicure but not any time soon. I will add that I have been overbooked several times with Steven in the past and I was always asked to either come back another time or wait ungodly amounts of time or have someone else complete a fillin. It's quite unfortunate since they always took an older white woman instead of me. It always made me feel second class. Not cool. Especially since I've been going there every 2 weeks for the past few years. I always tip well and sometimes opt for more elaborate designs that cost extra. Overall- they dont treat you fairly unless you're an old white woman. Prices change each time. Not sure why. And just an unpleasant vibe overall. read more

Everyone is friendly which is important to me. The massage chairs never seem to want to recline so it's so uncomfortable when I get pedicures here. David did an amazing job on my pink solar nails full set. He paid attention to every detail and really took his time. This salon desperately needs more nail polish colors. Their shelves aren't even half full with bottles of nail polish and there aren't many colors there that compliment my skin tone. I am appalled by these people. I had an absolutely HORRIBLE pedicure which I did not want to pay for. I put 20 on the counter and walked out after words were exchanged about what I wished to have done on my hands. I was willing to let the terrible pedicure go because the man who was to do my hands was highly recommended on yelp. Stephan asked me what I wanted and I told him. He asked me if I'd like solar nails and I said no because I was getting a color gel overlay so why would I need pink and white which was 20 more than regular acrylic. He just sat there glaring at me! I left 20 on the counter and walked out. I was followed out and threatened with the police if didn't pay so I went back in, grabbed my original 20 I had left on thr counter and added another 20. I then attempted to give it to him. He refused it. I threw it on the floor in plain sight of everyone there. When I got home I realized my car key was gone. I always carry 2 sets. I had my fiance call and they said they sent the key to Sayreville police. I called Sayreville police. I had to call back several times until they finally told me my key was there and I had to go get it.
