One week after regular manicure and my polish still looks great!
    Allison P.

This review is for nail polish Mani only. I am very impressed with the quality of products they use and the nail tech's technique. The two times I have been here for a regular manicure my nails have looked good for over a week. I am not soft on my nails with 2 small children. The nail techs have never over trimmed my cuticles or put any polish near them. They use quality products and have quality nail techs and my nails are showing the good work. Keep it up!!! The only other nail salon I have ever had my nails look this good for this long is at Jessica Nail Clinic in West Hollywood. So that is saying a lot! Jessica is triple the price.

I've been a loyal customer for a couple of years. They called me occasionally to change my appointment, which was difficult for me as I work more than full time & am care taking my 13 yr old dog with cancer, but I accommodated them because I understand people need days off & I really liked my technician. This month was awful...I took time off work to get to my appointment (I would go to both locations because again, I liked the technician I had). She needed the day off, so they put me with someone new. Which I was not thrilled about, but I had to do it because my schedule is so busy. The receptionist was extremely rude & unprofessional. I ended up being seen by a new technician who was nice but my nails looked disgusting. They were jagged & the gel was on my actual skin. I paid the full price & left a 12 dollar tip. However, when I was done, I asked if some of the nails could be redone because they were so bad. The receptionist was confrontational, rude, and told me to just "go to another salon". I was in put in contact with the owner who made me to text her photos of the nails (which is bizarre because I am the customer and if I don't like them, I don't like them). I ended up having to go back that night to get my nails done yet again. They did not give me a discount, they did not give me my money back, they did not give me the tip back so I was not able to tip the girl that did my nails the second time that day. It was a very frustrating experience. And it was very unprofessional. I would highly NOT recommend this place

I came here to the 9th location with my best friend to get pedicures and gel manicures for her wedding. The atmosphere is cute and relaxing, and our nail techs were super friendly and professional, even letting my friend, the bride-to-be, switch out her polish when she didn't like the color. My nails looked good when I left. We were happy with our service and our experience. That was Wednesday afternoon. Two days later, on Friday, this was the situation. The polish on my thumbnails had already lifted off Friday morning, the day before the wedding. I was helping my friend with all the last-minute preparations and had no time to go back to the salon. So I glued the paint on my thumbs down and hoped for the best. Friday afternoon, the polish on my fingers started to lift off too. Then it came completely off, leaving me with one nail half-painted and half-not-painted, and then the paint on another nail started to lift off too. So, it looks like I paid $40 (with tip) for a gel manicure that lasted two days. I was in the wedding party, in front of an audience, with half-chipped-away polish. I mean, first-world problems, you know, but I sure feel like we threw our money away at Nailed. Too bad, this place seems to have so much else going for it! Hope they can figure this problem out.

Wish I would have viewed the reviews before I decided to try them out. I started driving by their location in Millcreek a few weeks ago and decided to try it out. Booking was easy, the atmosphere is very modern. Was very clean and the staff were friendly. I signed up for a pedicure and wasn't happy with the results. I noticed the the tech was missing spots and pointed them out before she finished, but I honestly got home and pointed over them because it was that bad. I think it's overpriced for the quality and what I got. They soon sent me a text to rate my experience and like this review i have them one. Someone contacted me for further discussion and offered to fix it but I had to pass. **Picture: I honestly got them done a week ago and this is how they look. If you look closely you can tell what I painted over.**

Very disappointed in this place. I paid 94 for a shellac mani and a regular pedi (including tip) it's been a week and 3 nails are already chipped. I was hoping to like this place but I will not be back.

My nails, polished with OPI brand polish, 6 hours post manicure.

The front desk person was very rude and unhelpful, I hope the rest of the staff is more pleasant.

My favorite service to get is the shellac or gel manicure, especially when done by my favorite technician, Jenny.

Carrie gave me a rundown and what to expect before we started and was so respectful and understanding when I told her it was my first time. I was anxious but she came in with so much ease that it soothed me and I can't remember feeling awkward or shy which is a complete break in character for myself! Also, I was told that a brazilian is brutal and yes, I did a NC -17 rendition of the Steve Carrell waxing scene in the 40 year old virgin without even realizing. However, Carrie was so incredible and had such good humor about it and had some great tools to minimize pain and also to help with any possible ingrown hairs that after a few moments I was able to manage it so much better. This is the biggest difference with Carrie and all my other experiences getting waxed. With Carrie, I had about 0 ingrown hairs or redness but dealt with those issues when I went to other places even though I exfoliated and applied aloe/did the same post wax care I did for my first time. Honestly, I cannot believe I was such an idiot but because of where I was/ my situation I wasn't able to manage going to Carrie. But I will 100% make it work in the future because she's worth the effort. Don't make the same mistake I did! If you need to get waxed at all, schedule with Carrie because she is utterly extraordinary.

The Cat House - Meet Lex the owner of The Cat House Waxing and Esthetics Studio

I just happened to find Lex, the proprietor of The Cat House SLC waxing studio, a few weeks back on…read moreInstagram (turns out her studio was only 2.5 miles away in the LIV Salons Bldg.,) and decided to pull the trigger on full manzilian and manjacial...my first ever. I took advantage of her special Halloween deal pricing and booked the appointment by 31 October. But the unique upside with Lex was that she didn't charge more for men than women! I've seen some studios charge upwards of 33% more to wax a male...so that was what hooked me! I showed up yesterday and was immediately comfortable being around her and her nicely decorated studio suite (yes, images of cats are everywhere as one would expect. ) I've also been enjoying her crazy, clever, and humorous sales graphics/adverts on her website and Instagram sites as they are a real kick to read. Lex was just like an old friend that I'd known for years, I was THAT comfortable around her. In fact, I learned more about skin, skincare, and waxing from her in just this one appointment than all the research I've done over these many years...all while getting up the courage to pull the trigger on my first wax! Lex is a wealth of knowledge on the subject and offers a complete array of esthetic services and 'cosmeceuticals' for her clientele...besides just waxing. My manzilian went as expected...and yes, a few of the 'pulls' stung like a biotch. But Lex's use of a cold damp cloth really helped extinguish the burn, so to speak. She used both a soft wax and a special hard wax - both made for men - on me, and it was over before I knew it. Then came the manjacial which was soothing and helped further cool any hotspots that remained. All in all, it was a great 1st waxing and exactly what I expected. However, what made it special was the conversation between us during the entire appointment. Her process and product knowledge, professionalism, and warmth really make it a wonderful experience. Five stars for quality of service, expertise, care, and personality. Thanks, Lex! P.S., Lex even sent me these two follow-up images...personalized for me.

While everyone has a different pain tolerance for waxing, the professionalism and skills you get at Salt Lake Waxing Co. are constant. Juls will let you know what to expect upfront and ensure you're comfortable throughout your visit. Her attention to detail, skilled application, and use of the best products show her commitment to caring for my skin. Clean and conveniently located. Highly recommend. That's for the tl; dr review readers. For the review readers interested in knowing more about my glowing recommendation: I go to Salt Lake Waxing Co. every six weeks! But it didn't start out like that... Ten years ago, like many adults with body image issues, I was not only scared waxing would be excruciatingly painful, but I couldn't fathom being naked and spreading my legs open like a frog in a well-lit room, let alone have a stranger looking at me in that vulnerable state. However, the desire to be hair-free compelled me to what you're doing now: reading reviews and trying to glimpse what to expect. Every six weeks, I see Juls for what we call the "All The Things" treatment. "All the things" starts with my brazilian wax. We're so busy catching up that I hardly notice what's happening down there. Before you know it, I'll roll over on my side into a fetal pose and with a few quick strokes, she's done, and I am gloriously hair-free from front to back! Next are my lower legs (full legs and butt cheeks are a must in the summer), my armpits, and my mustache! Next, her esthetician expertise really shines when she does my brows. It's not just a "brow wax" like you'll get at your nail salon. She's paying attention to my face shape, hairstyle, and hair color. Those details matter, especially if you're like me and opt to have your brows tinted. I always leave with perfectly precisely shaped eyebrows that fit my face and style. While the brow tint works its magic, it's nose time. Yes, I said nose. While plucking a single hair from within your nose is outrageously painful, surprisingly, warm wax on a stick placed carefully inside and swiftly removed isn't terrible at all. The nose hairs are gone without bringing tears to my eyes! No more troll nose. My advice to you: Book an appointment. Meet Juls. Ask questions. You don't have to start with "All The Things." Take as much time as you need to feel comfortable. Keep making appointments. Try something new. Around Halloween, she usually has a cute sign that reads: "You can't scare me; I've seen it all!" I believe she has. You'll get no shame, shock, or judgment about your body or skin--just a skilled professional who cares deeply about helping you look and feel your best. For me, that's very freeing! Juls has taught me about my skin and helped me become comfortable with it. Bonus tip: Get your armpits waxed. Seriously. Your armpit skin is some of the toughest on your body. It took me too long to get on the armpit train and even longer to get on the nose waxing wagon. It's so worth it!
