I would never recommend this place to anyone. They just changed owners about a month or so ago and the new people who own this business are truly terrible, I'm sorry to say. So the owner's sister was giving me a full acrylic set and she placed the pinky tip on crooked, all she did was clip it down short then place ANOTHER tip on top of the existing tip! The sidewalls weren't aligned at all and they literally broke off in the chair. The sister got annoyed of me asking her to fix these issues so she says "Never mind you can have the owner do it (her sister)". I said "okay, that's fine." So I moved chairs and waited for the Owner to finish with her client. While I was waiting, ANOTHER TIP broke off. So I told the owner "I'm not comfortable getting my nails done here, if I need to pay for the current work, then fine but I am going to get my nails done at another salon." Then the Owner freaks out at me and says "No no no don't leave! I'll do your nails! I've done nails for 20 years! My sister doesn't know how to do nails, she just puts the tips on and I do the customers nails". I just stared at her dumbfounded... Like did you just hear yourself?? You hired someone who doesn't know how to do nails??? That tells me she isn't even LICENSED! That is so illegal!! As I was walking out, the owner proceeded to yell at me on the way out "Don't leave! Don't leave! I'll give you extra $10 off!" It was so pathetic and unprofessional. Plus, since the Owner admitted her sister (her employee) doesn't "know how to do nails" - she pretty much exposed that her sister doesn't have her license and that's 100% illegal. They're running a 15% off sale right now until April 20th and I'm sad to say that I fell for it. But I would rather pay full price for nails that aren't going to break off the same day than save 15%. Especially not by a tech who literally has no idea what she's doing. Please do not waste your time or money here! read more

I needed a pedicure and I was in Salt Lake City so decided to look some places up. I called this place and they were able to take me in on a Friday afternoon. I was the only one there so that was great. They bring the colors to you. I look forward to the massages but this one sucked. She really wasn't massaging me and all she did wear put the salt scrub and said my legs were soft. The gel pedicure was ok. When I got back home I noticed that she didn't scrub right on my feet and some spots were rough still. I was really disappointed because i was really looking forward to a good pedicure. read more

I honestly feel like this place is a hit or miss. But I will say this: I've had more positive interactions than bad ones. This isn't a fancy salon but they do get the job done and I've always left happy with my nails. I don't know if they get a lot of traffic coming in or I've just stopped by during their slower times but they've always been able to accommodate me which I appreciate. Very rude very condescending. Nail tech cut my mother multiple times and rolled his eyes when she commented about it. To top it off the work was shooty. Do not waste your time or money. I have literally been to every nail salon in Salt Lake City, and Lavender Nails gives you the best bang for your buck, great selection of colors, prompt and friendly service, clean, and pain free! The entire staff is wonderful, but I will have to say my favorite is Xi (pronounced "C"). She delivers flawless and painless manicures and pedicures. That's right, No bleeding, no unnecessary rough sanding, no "oops", no up selling, no forgetting to clean up those dry cuticles. They take their time to deliver quality work that will look fresh for weeks! Three weeks ago, I did Acrylics with shellac polish and a spa pedicure. Total cost $70. My acrylic with shellac polish lasted me 3 weeks. Pedicure lasted 2 weeks. Today, I paid $50 for a shellac manicure (on my natural nails) and a spa pedicure (complete with scrubs and hot towel wrap). A steal, right? The only reason I didn't give this establishment a 5 star is because their sign says they're open on Sundays. I have been here on Sundays and it was closed. read more

I came here based on the positive reviews and 4 stars on yelp & google. My experience was great with the lady but she didn't give me exactly what I wanted. It cost me $60 for ombré full set & to have her cut my cuticles which I thought was a little more than range. After I washed my hands and left there was still acrylic residue left on my cuticles area. Very nice people, the service wasn't exactly so much. Asked for a gel pedicure that includes callus removal. Usually other nail salons do callus removal while you feet are in the soaking process. This lady applied the gel on my toes and scrubbed my feet after my toes were already done and used a spray bottle to then wet my feet for callus removal. I wasn't happy about that. And she only did callus removal on 1 foot. I complained about my other foot but she laughed and ignored what i said. My Callus is not that bad but still could have used a good scrub especially since thats what the service option i chose on the flyer. I still tipped regardless but wasn't to happy with my service. read more

Things I hate about a nail place... "it will be 25 minutes." 45 minutes later they put you in a pedicure chair with your feet in water. Then you wait another 45 minutes as the water turns ice cold with your feet in it. Just be honest ... we are short staffed. There are 3 pedicures and and 3 nails ahead of you. I would have come back. I won't be back again after this 2 plus hour pedicure. They nail tech was nice but clearly in a hurry. Lesson learned. read more

I am new to Utah and this nail salon caught my attention as I was on my way to do my groceries. I went in with my aunt and we waited for about 20 minutes ( didn't mind the wait) i got french tip acrylics and my aunt got a manicure and pedicure. They are very attentive and quick! I got exactly what I wanted and didn't break my pocket. My aunt got an excellent pedicure and manicure. The attentiveness at this place is great and so are the prices. I've been taking my girls here for months usually getting metal flake, colored acrylic and shellac full set and pedicures. Typically we pay 150 for all 3 of us. Today i went with one of my daughters and they said they could do our design and but wanted us to match the ombré colors with no help them made a huge deal about not being able to find the right powder because the lids didn't have correct lable. Mind you the place was way too full for 3 employees and to have him take out frustration on us was odd but we wanted to continue with our date. We talked about NOT doing shellac on my daughter's toes at least 5 times because he kept trying to up-sale. Of course my daughter was on her phone and she noticed the lamp on and tried to stop her but it was already hard. Again I said ok no problem. He complained about how short we wanted our nails when he has done it every time. Acrylic was stuck to 3 of my fingers so he tried to drill it off, i told him to stop and he kept going cutting me then going back again. I could hear him talking to my daughter telling her she needs to get them longer because they were coffin shaped. They look long, square, flat and thick... variety pack i guess. We go to check out and our total is 220 before tip. I asked why so much and he said it is 6dollars per nail for metal flake and we did 6 nails total. I jokingly said to let me know next time because I've never paid 70 for each full set and they did the shellac when i said not to. He said it will be like that from now on. The pedicure was amazing. **READ THE REVIEWS ON GOOGLE** I wish I would of. If I could give it 0 stars I would. The guy didn't even know what he was doing. He applied the base coat over my nail after wiping it down with a wet cloth. My nails were still wet. (Your nails should be completely dry before applying the base to prevent them from lifting or chipping.) To top it off the base coat was over my cuticles and the color job was horrible. I could of done a better polish job with my left hand, easy. Parts of my nail don't even have color on them. I also waited over an hour. I understand they were busy and I didn't have an appointment which makes sense. I came here because of the great reviews here on Yelp and thought maybe waiting would be worth it but this was a complete waste of my money and time. This place is a hidden treasure! Owned by husband and wife they are extremely nice and best of all they give 5 star service! I'm not from Utah and it was extremely hard for me to find a place that actually knows what their doing. The lady is a perfectionist when it comes to a full set. She has so many different colors to choose from. Her husband helps with pedicures and puts his strong arm in massages. She very up to date when it comes to styles.
